Hey,
first question:
You are able to get in download mode? (volume down + home button + power button)
If yes, be cool
So when u are able, flash a stock Rom with "re-partition".
This means also that you must have a stock Rom with 3 files (or sometimes more), but not the one .tar file.
If you've done this, your phone should work normal.
Then try to root again with the right "cf-root" for the android version, you flashed.
Good luck!

Just out of curiosity: I always read, you should never select "re-partition".
Why do you suggest this here right now for a StockRom?
Thanks in advance.

Never when it's just a one part .tar file!
If you have three or more you can choose for odin (phone, modem, csc)
then u can select it

What I have read it only works if pit file is available, but even then re-partition should not be used. And a one-file tar generally contains the same files (phone, modem, csc) as the three-file-combo.
That's why I'm so confused.
Im honestly glad you guys know what your talking about

The .pit file is only needed by three-file-combo.
Then you can check also the repartition.
If you have one file .tar, the .pit-file is senseless and never should check repartition.
Sure in one file you have nearly the same "files" like in three, but in three-file they can be written separatly on right partition.
Mates don't get me wrong but just accept it
I'm not a dev or scripter but but flashed a lot.
Never bricked my phone but often hanging in bootloop and so on.
And like you see the way with re-partition can help.
I Never flashed a stock Rom since I had my SGS II, but like I said I'm flashing a lot and I had the SGS before, too
Hope all question are answered.
If not pls ask devs for more info.
But that's the general things I can tell you

Wrong, you can use it with both single tarball archive or with the 3 component tarball. You don't need to repartition the device unless you need to change the partition layout for whatever reason or you've damaged your partition layout.

1) Right, he damaged it so he needed it.
2) No you shouldn't use it by one file flash!

But however I don't wanna say anybody how to flash.

Sorry, I meant recovery. With the phone off, hold the volumn up key, home, and power at the same time. Should be an option to wipe/factory reset there.... this will erase everything

I don't think you can factory reset while the phone is password locked. Tried it once on an S1 when a friend's kid locked them out of the phone due to too many pattern attempts.
You will probably have to flash a new rom via Odin. You can download the firmware off xda or sammobile.com. Just search and you will find heaps of info.
If your in Melbourne I can probably help you.

Something went seriously wrong when installing custom mod on my SG3 => bricked
What's the status:
*unable to get in recovery modus
*able to get in download modus
*when I want to install another mod within odin it doesn't do anything, it completes installing in 1 second
it actually stops @ <ID:0/006> NAND Write Start!!
I can wait for hours and it just stops @ this step...:crying:

* installed CWM
* installed the cyanogen ROM
* installed font installer => rebooted => crashed (stuck on samsung screen)
* cleared data/cache in recovery modus
* tried to install stock ROM => stuck on samsung screen
* added pit file (read on the forum that it could help on bricked phones) , stock ROM and flashed with Odin
final result: no recovery modus, only download modus and unable to flash anything with Odin
If you can get to download mode you should certainly be able to flash with odin. That is download mode's sole purpose and afaik it is not affected by any rom installations.

Why don`t you read BEFORE you flash anything instead of AFTERWARDS

In a german board this problem got solved by flashing with the right pit file (and a 3-part firmware).
They said, "mx.pit" or "GT-I9300_mx_20120329.pit" should work.
HERE you get the files.
Unfortunately the original poster was not very specified with reporting which he had flashed, but he said it flashed.
Another one pointed out, that you need a 3-part firmware when flashing with repartition. Is that the case? I don't know.
EDIT: It can be that the solution wasn't the correct pit file, but only the 3-part firmware. Maybe try to flash a 3-part firmware first without repartition.
Best Regards
Rob

This is pretty strange. You should be able to flash any of the international roms and have it work as they are interchangeable.
When you run the cyanogen zip is it throwing up an error or just flat resetting?

Hi guys, i got a little issue with my galaxy i9300 international version, let me tell you what I did and the results to that.
1. Flashed with Cyanomogen 10.1. Working fine.
2. Then, afer a few days, flashed with Paranoid.
3. Phone starts to freeze, so as I didn't know was going on, and tried to flash with another ROM.
4. Flashed several times with ODIN and tried to stabilize it with stock room XELLA.
5. Flashed with Ultima ROM, still freeze sometimes.
6. Phone stops boots, if I turn on normally, shows a screen like an old tv, white with stripes.... also shows it when I plug it to charge it.
7. Only enters to download mode.
8. Tried to flash it, however says partition failed, there is no pit partition.
9. Tried with every single PIT partition mx that i found, and nothing, every time it says, Re-Partition failed.
10. Tried with a different computer, USB cable, everything... and nothing!..
11. Also tried with the rescue korean rom, and nothing.
12. Also tried with the single file from samfirmeware and the pit file, and nothing!
Any thoughts??? I'm desperate!

And the roms I flashed, in this order: 1. CyanogenMod 10.1, Paranoid, CyanogenMod again, and Ultima ROM.
After the installation of Paranoid, the device started to freeze, over and over again, and continue to do it over the other ROMs.
Also, I went to a so called "technician", and the guy says the mainboard must be replace, because i damage the bootloader.

Use only the mx.pit in the pit rar.
If you manage to flash the pit but the 3 file firmware doesn't work, download speedmod kernel and flag the kernel only. Then go to cwm and then mounts and storage. Format system, data and cache. Then go back to download mode after a battery pull. And then flash the 3 file firmware again. Do not select a pit file and make sure re partition is unchecked.

Thanks for the help man, however when I try to flash the pit file, I got this:

So, no product name as you can see. And old TV set screen when I try to normally power on, or conecting the charger, or trying to go to recovery.
Got another trick under the sleeve? I would appreciate it... Thanks! :good:

The are people that have Flashed pit files abs still recovered the phone. I'm pretty sure these phones are never that deaf until download mode is dead.
Would A jtag recover the phone?

It didn't do anything, Odin didn't have the time to flash the pit file, and it was already broken long before I try to re-partition the pit file through Odin.
So, no, that's not the problem.

it is the problem. even if the phone was bricked, it was reversible. flashing the wrong pit file made the damage irreparable

So my phone started acting up, slowing down, glitching, freezing etc.
I took a titanium backup, formatted the phone and reinstalled my rom (via CWM).
It kept crashing, so I went back into CWM, and tried to wipe it again, but it kept erroring on accessing the cache partition.
I downloaded Odin and tried to reflash it back to stock - it failed.
Assumed it was a partition problem, so I grabbed the PIT file and tried to flash that.
This is the error:
Long and short - is it new phone time, or can this be saved?
If you upgraded your phone to XELLA or higher ver you can't go back, because of new boot loader.
Try flashing XELLA firmware or this one http://goo.gl/e40Nc - It's XXALEF with new bootloader support and repartition pit file.

Looks like either user damaged the Nand by flashing wrong files or its the Sudden Death Syndrome .
In both cases its a service centre job .
reinstalled my rom (via CWM). >> that's only restoring the fault if it was a firmware problem.

Good luck then... But if your binary counter is increased, no warranty

I've had similar issues before, it worked eventually.
Try Odin3 v.1.85 from here (CF-Auto-Root thread).
Next, be sure you got a valid file, those from sammobile (I see from screenshots you want polish ROM).
Next, use only PDA button, nothing else, make sure it's the same settings as in root thread above.
Also make sure all Kies processes are closed.
Now, try until it works. It might take a few tries. This is what worked for me, hope it does for you too.
AW: Is it dead? Odin Screenshot.
If you are in Europe service center will repair it without adding money.

The same error happened to me after kies asked for some updates , i had to delete kies and samsung usb drivers then i downloaded only the usb drivers and the next time i tried odin it worked, i cant remember where i downloaded the usb drivers but i have them on my hdd and can upload them if u want.
Edit link for USB drivers : https://www.dropbox.com/s/yks4sudqsehazez/drivers.rar
Just use the pda option in Odin with the correct firmware for u galaxy with the right bootloader, not CSC and phone option, its easy to get back ur phone.

Aright missed that... But anyway, why the hell bothering with .Pit and Re-Partition? It's very dangerous...
Change CSC if needed or flash specific ROM...
Anyway... hope he gets it sorted...
