[Q] Any KERNELS for Gt-I9300 AOSP 4.2.2 ROM? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
So I've been trying to find a kernel that works with Supernexus 2.0 on my GT-I9300. Haven't found any, so that's why I'm asking from you, are there any kernels that I could flash to my GT-I9300 (aka Samsung Galaxy S3) running Supernexus 2.0 Android 4.2.2?
Ps. Overclockable prefered. Thanks

me too. Flashed the siyah 1.8.9 before I found out it doesn't support 4.2.2!
Been searching but can't seem to find any other kernels..
Anyone?

Siyah just goes to bootloop, it says it supports CM10.1 but it doesn't support SuperNexus 2 or CM10.1
Well I'm not a patient dude, so I'm now happy user of Carbon ROM 4.2.2 which has kernel that can be clocked to whopping 2,0Ghz!
Thanks for answering

New Kernel is working fine, but after installing, my WIFI tethering has stopped working. Just "error".
Ah well, back to the stock CM kernel I suppose..

You can use GokHanmoral's SiyahKernel on all Jelly Bean ROMs. It allows you to overclock your CPU to 1.8GHz and is butter smooth.
Hope I could help!

get the franco kernel updater app na..

but not the samsung leaks
also there is a modded siyah kernel called "googy-max kernel"
this on is awesome and also rock-stable
not to mention the battery life and the governors
just google it up and flash it
if i helped, please hit the thanks button.

SOLVED: used latest syah kernel 5.01 and worked as primary revolt and secondary MIUI. No problems so far, i think dream kernel would work also on this matter.

[Q] Bootloop with perseus kernel [SOLVED]

Hi guys,
I am newbie, my S3 i9300 is using temasek 10.1 rom and his amazing lastest kernel. About batterylife saving, I am trying to find out the ASV version of my S3 to get right value for stweak app by flashing perseus kernel together with flashing unchecksetonboot.zip as manual but I faced the bootloop, my S3 could not started. I have tried the ways (only flash perseus kernel (36.3) or flash perseus kernel together with flashing unchecksetonboot.zip) but it was not booted. I do not know how to solve this.
I could not post my question in Temasek's thread because i am newbie. Is there someone else like me and any help for me, please!
I hope Temasek can see my question.
Thanks a lot!

TL;DR: before flashing aside from known issues in the second post.
This isn't an AOSP kernel. I won't work with CM and AOSP derivatives.
DOESN'T WORK ON SAMSUNG JELLYBEAN 4.2.1 ROMS.

All Samsung (or Sammy) derivatives that means all Rom with XX... in its name, MC3, etc. And 4.1.x only. See thread's titles it's written there.

You open my mind! I am too stupid to think that Sammy ROM derivatives is AOSP, My BAD.
Even I do not really understand about AOSP ROM because of this words " The name is often co-opted for custom ROMs that are very close to the original AOSP, from What's the difference between an AOSP ROM and a stock ROM?"
But as you teach me, I will chose a Sammy ROM derivatives without the AOSP note in ROM.
Iam downloading a [ROM][MC3][JKAY] Purelook HD v5.0 I SGS 4 + Xperia Z ROM. Hope it works.
I will try to improve my self step by step.
Thank you! :highfive:

There are 2 main kind of roms - based on samsung sources and based on aosp sources (cyanogenmod). They're not compatible with each other, that means kernels, mods, themes etc.
Most AOSP Roms have 4.2.2 Android while Sammy have 4.1.2.

AOSP ROM, 4.2.2 Kernels??

I've just flashed (for the first time) an AOSP ROM, running Android 4.2.2.
It plays up with games and other things so i was looking to try different Kernels.
Locating alternative Kernels for this type of ROM and this android version is proving more difficult than other ROMs.
Can someone please help me by suggesting other kernels that would work on Android 4.2.2 on an AOSP ROM?
Thank you in advance :good:
((The ROM i've flashed is LiquidSmooth))

Thanks for the quick response..
But do these kernels work both with AOSP ROMs AND Android 4.2.2??
Because, for example, Siyah has noted on their download page that this is for Android 4.1.x ROMs ONLY and that "Samsung 4.2 leaks are not supported",

Siyah and Googy work on AOSP and Samsung ROMS
They work with AOSP 4.2.2 but only up to 4.1.2 on samsung
The reason being Samsung have not released the sources for Samsung 4.2.2, so we cannot make kernels for that

I don't use CM but my understanding is you must use the CM kernel that is installed with it. Maybe you should go over to the General forum and post a question in the [Firmware][SGH-I777][JB][4.1.1] CyanogenMod 10 preview | USER THREAD. There should be no restrictions on posting in that thread.

Hello, I'm using [ROM] GT-I9100 Resurrection Remix® v4.0.7 [02/09/13] PA.AOKP.CM (4.2.2), and I want to flash the stock kernel, its possible? If yes, I didnt found the link. I need use the 4.2.2 kernel or just the 4.1.2? Im little confused
Thanks
No you can't flash stock kernel, it only can with stock ROM.
and good thing you didn't find stock kernel, cause then you probably would've bricked your device.
(There is no stock kernel compatible with 4.2.2)

I believe it's the kernel from CyanogenMod, but you should make sure of that..I just remember that from some thread I read. What comes to selecting a kernel, try starting here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1702166 I also suggest searching info in the OP of Resurrection Remix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436854
