Honestly.. I am new on andriods phones. As a begginer I take the risk to root it myself followed by this website:
But after I flash it in Odin.. My phone stuck at the boot screen and has a yellow triangle down there. I tried Recovery mode but it won't start the recovery mode. Just download mode.
What should I do!?
I am from Malaysia.. O_O
Are my phone bricked? Bootloops? And I need to do something like firmware?
I would like to flash back if can..

Download the stock firmware for malaysia...(from intratechs thread) Put your phone in download mode.. Simply flash it..hope u know how to flash via odin.. problem solved..

GT-i9100G.. Is it from the back of the box? Or in it?
If you have an I9100G, you'll need an I9100G kernel. You can find stock ones in Odia's thread: [KERNEL] Insecure Kernels for use with rooting, i.e. GT-I9100G_DZKI1_original and GT-I9100G_ZCKHI4_original. Don't flash an I9100G kernel unless you're absolutely sure yours is I9100G though.

Yes, If you really have a "G", best you check out the previous posters link to the "G" specific thread.
Sorry, can't help you any more than that as not 100% familiar with your model. Don't want to make things worse . G requires different firmware than than the International or T versions that I have.

Im finding a modem to flash thru cwm. as what im having now, seems very bad for my country (or maybe place), malaysia. so im wondering if someone can give me some points on new modems for i9100G.
or maybe, can i use the modem for i9100? will there any brick issues if i tried? thanks.

Probably not easy to flash back original modem .

There are loads of threads that have lots of different modems up for download. Just download one, put it on the Internal SD, and flash it with CWM. It's trial and error which one works best for you.

sure, i can do that. but i must be certain that it wont do any harm for my phone when trying to flash i9100 modem into i9100g. probably someone that is good into this matter would clear this to me?

Hi guys I am coming from HTC desire and installing rom etc was easy. I never bricked my phone after reading threads number of times before flashing roms.
My New Toy will arrive tomorrow and i will root the mobile but i have read so many threads regarding IMEI number gets changed while flashing? does this happen when wrong firmware is flashed? or is there another reason for that?
I will try to make EFS folder backup that will help me if flashing goes wrong. I have already bought USB Jig for this purpose. I hope this is easy also.
My GS2 will be branded to Orange UK Network. I hope its easier to backup stoke Rom Etc. I will ask more question if i am unsure what i am doing.

No it just seems to happen .

USB jig has nothing to do with EFS folder only to reset custom rom counter and boot some firmwares to download mode .

Settings about phone look for kernel ie mine was ki4 find the right cf kernel to flash that will give u cwm. Reboot to cwm make a nand back up keep it safe. Grab urself nitrality from the market if u paranoid about efs and back it up and keep it safe u cant go wrong then

Another thing is Orange have sent my nephew, cousin and my sister gs2. They all have different kernels. Another difference was one is gt-19100 and other was 19100p. I was searching for firmware for 19100p couldn't find any.
I hope they send me gt-19100. I will post tomorrow what's the kernel etc.

How to unbrand this to Samsung official Firmware. I can use this method to root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1319653 but i need to back up stock rom. but rooting with this method does not give you CWM. I have checked CF and CWM root method but they dont have my kernel.
I want to backup my stock rom and flash Official firmware and also EFS folder i cannot install ktool until i root the phone. Let say i installed Offical Firmware will that change GT-I9100P to GT-I9100 So what do you guys suggest.

I would be searching the forum for other P users and would want to know for certain that its interchangeable firmware with i9100 before doing anything .

Yeah it looks like NFC chip. I have searched XDA but majority of people only want to root not install Samsung Official firmware. I can root but it will not give CWM. I hope there is a way to install CWM so i can backup rom. Ktool doesnot work with I9100p. I hope someone has solution to this.

I have managed to Root my phone with CF which has CWM recovery. I have backed up my stock rom but still have insecure kernal i could not find original kernal for BVKI3. Where can i find this? and How to edit edit your ro.product.model=GT-I9100P to I9100?

Thanks I edited Build.prop to change i9100p to i9100 and it worked. I have funny thing displaying on my phone info. I have model number showing as I9100.kernel as XXKI3.Build Number as BVKI3. Can i install official firmware of sumsung now?
Because build.prop edits that info. I really wanna tell you ya can go ahead and flash but.... Its a diff model because you have nfc so i cant tell you to flash im affraid i dont wanna be the reason your phone bricks if i told you to do sonething wrong mine is just i9100 so, glad i helped you with the other bits but i cant help much more

Hi. I have 2 australian galaxy s3. First one is on 4.1.2 TDUELL2 and the second one is on 4.0.4 TDUBLH1. I want to root both of them. The first one after getting updated to 4.1.2 wifi stopped working but i found a fix installing the wifi folder from 4.1.1 version. To that I need root though. So any help on how am I gonna root them both? Cause I couldn't sort it out my self.

What model number are the phones I9300 / I9305?

I managed to root both of them. I know have a major problem. 1 of them had a problem with wifi. It couldnt connect. I read about a solution by copying the wifi folder from version 4.1.1. Tried that. It worked for once but after reboot it stopped. And now I can't even turn on the wifi. It gets stuck on Turning on... Do i have to reflash the rom again and if so how will i do that? It was stock rom on stock kernel. Only rooted. gt i9300t moder and build DUELL2.
Also can i flash a rom with different build over that? For example XXEMC2 that i have on my Greek galaxy s3?
I9300T rooting is the same as I9300 rooting, follow the guides of CF-Root 6.4 or CF-Autoroot. (I got a T model myself)
You can flash any I9300 rom also on the T model, therefore root is not 100% necessary. Full wipes are recommended for flashing different versions though.

just saw it .
For wifi, try a stock ROM (flash it new incl. wipes etc.), or try a different kernel, whereas the stock kernel should always work.

you can find (unrooted) stock roms for instance on sammobile.com or (rooted) stock roms here on XDA in the General section.
Easiest way to flash them is via Mobile Odin (gives you the option to keep root) or Odin (you will loose root but you can flash CF afterwards manually).
And yes you can flash any build that is made for the I9300/I9300T.
The only difference between both models is the frequency of the baseband (the T model is more optimized for 850mhz) whereas you even can use modems of the I9300 on the I9300T.

What do you mean by modems? Soz if I sound noob but I am new to Galasy s3. My previous android was ideos x5 and i had a miui rom on it.
The phone will be used in greece. Do you suggest me flashing the XXEMC2 rom that i have on my Greek S3 atm? Is there any chance of bricking it if i flash that rom on it?

There is a difference between the ROM's firmware (basically your OS, e.g. XXEMC2) and the modem (basically the part which gives you the connection to the next mobile tower and is managing the frequencies, e.g. DUELL2).
It does not matter that much what ROM firmware you use as they are nearly identical in each country (here and there dif. apps due to providers) but more that you use a modem that delivers in the country you are in. Hence, I would first try the modems of your region (you can find a list of all modems in the General section's modem collection).

Ok. Here is the deal. My greek galaxy s3 which i recently updated is XXEMC2. The galaxy s3 with the wifi problem is DUELL2 bought in australia from a friend but will be sent to greece for my brother. So i should flash XXEMC2 on it? I just download XXEMC2 from sammobile and flash it with odin? It doesn't matter that the XXEMC2 is for i9300 as fas as I understood from what u said. right?

correct, you can use the I9300 versions of any rom for the I9300T as well.

Ok. So the CSC numbers that are different on lets say the DUELL2 and the XXEMC2 are not something to bother me right? I just download the XXEMC2 rom and flash it on the DUELL2 S3 and then I just will root it. right? Will the phone become i9300 after that procedure? or stay i9300t? So I know which file i should use to root it.
Soz for too many questions but the phone is not mine and I need to be sure for the procedure.

The firmware code (XXEMC2) should not be of concern.
The modem code (DUELL2) should be of concern IF you experience bad performance in the region you are. If so, flash a different modem and try it.
The phone will be an I9300T whereas in the menus it might tell you I9300, anyway there is no difference in the files to use.
For rooting, follow the guide, you can use CF-Root 6.4 (if you want a custom recovery) or CF-Autoroot (if you want to use stock recovery).

Thanks a lot mate. This helped a lot. I decided to go with the 4.1.1 version of its current region. Later if we see that it doesnt perform well here in greece we will flash the xxemc2 rom.
Ok i downloaded the rom from sammobile and the file name is this I9300TDUDLK1_I9300ZZZLK1_VAU.zip but i get an error message that says cannot open. file unknown or damaged :/ Why is that? Is this file meant to be named as md5?

To flash a rom via odin you need the md5 file, correct. Hence unzip or if you cannot maybe the download is corrupt?

The zip file was probably corrupted. we will download the greek version XXELLA after al...l. Cross fingers for success
btw should i make an efs backup to be surr???
and how can i do that?

Hi all
I've had a custom root and rom on my s2
I've since reset and odined a new rom into it that didn't seem to work (boot looped) so I installed what I thought was a stock one vod uk)
Anyway, this hasn't worked as it now gets stuck booting on the s2 screen
Not sure what to do... my root (0yellow triangle) has disappeared so I can't install a custom rom and I don't know the csc (or whatever it It is) as I'm guessing the stock rom I put on was not exactly the same as the one that came on it originally?
Bit confused how I get it back now

To help you out more information is needed - exact phone type, what was your previous ROM, what ROM you flashed, etc..
Can you go to Download Mode? (home + power + volume down)
If you can, download the right ROM and flash it with Odin.

Yes i can get into download mode but I don't know what to flash to it,I've tried 2 different ones which I thought we're stock ones but clearly not as the phone doesn't accept it, I've tried 2 different Vodafone UK ones but don't know the exact build what was on itoriginally as I got it with a custom rom when I bought it

Still unclear what is your phone model. Is it I9100, I9100G or even HD LTE?
According to this you must choose a proper ROM for your device. If it`s wrong you will get soft brick.

It must be written on your first boot screen, lowest line - on mine I have I9100.
Its even written on a big sticker under the battery.

Go to sammobile and get a stock rom from there......fill in the 4 boxes to pinpoint which ones you can try.Avoid the 4.0.4 one lol.
Then read tutorial about using odin properly on here.
