I decided to be cheap and buy this tab from tiger direct for my brothers b-day. It was supposed to come with ICS, and after searching around figured out how to install Google Play and that it came rooted.
Came in the mail today, took it out of the box... it was upgraded to JB 4.1.1 and was not rooted. I'm just learning the intricacies of the android operating system and am nowhere near being able to root it myself, and I would have no idea where to start. I've searched around for the past couple hours and came up with nothing. Does anyone know anything about this tablet and how to get it so it's rooted and can get a workaround to get google play?

OK, it is not my old Samung but it WAS more affordable and the battery is great.
My problem? I can't get i rooted. Not my area of expertise. I tried various apps and even from adb.
So, has anyone rooted a BLU Energy yet?
Any luck?
Have you had any luck iKomos?
I have the energy X and haven't been able to find anything on rooting it. The last phone I bought and rooted was about 4 years ago and it was a long process with adb, but there were so much helpful info on here. I guess not a lot of people have this phone.

I also have this phone and I m wondering if anyone is going to at least try to root this phone soon?
Hi I'm fairly new to the rooting scene but i have rooted a Samsung device in the past and installed cyanogen.
I have done a lot of searching online and on XDA Forums. I cant find much info about rooting this tablet. It comes from Argos in Ireland and the UK. I think it is fairly new and it is inexpensive. From searching on here actually, i gather the Argos Bush tablets are rebranded Archos tablets. a google search will come up with oneclickroot but they dont support this device.
I had been directed to ask for help here by a Recognised Contributor in XDA Assist forum
its running android 5.0.1.
Is there any other info you need?
Many thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

The reason i want to root is that it looks like i got some malware. BroService and Linervice.
They can be uninstalled but reinstall themselves fairly quickly. AVG recognises BroService as harmful and promts to uninstall but thinks the other one is safe. When installed they serve pop up adds that sit on the right hand bottom corner.
They arent on the tablet after a factory reset but they do arrive again eventually. I had been very careful whith what apps i installed since i noticed them and tried the factory reset to get rid.
A friend has the same tablet and he has them to. I know 2 others with the smaller 8" version and they also have them so im thinking it comes on the tablet. The strange thing is none of us had it at first, it only showed up later. For me i had 3 weeks without them the first time, last time maybe a week and this time they are not back yet since the factory reset a few days ago.
Hi did you ever get this sorted out? I have an archos tablet and it came with the same malware.
Anyone know if this can be rooted and if their are any roms for it? I can't seem to find anything about it anywhere. Even google searches just lead me to the sprint store. There is literally nothing about it anywhere. Why is this thing a ghost?

I've been able to root this thing using KingRoot. This seemed to be the only one that was able to root this...thing! I am still trying to install a customer recovery on it but so far had not had much luck. The sad thing is I liked my Samsung galaxy tab 3 7" better than this thing so far.

Hey can you please help me. I have the same tablet the slate 10 (AQT100) but it's stuck on powered by Android logo. Tried wiping data to factory settings but didn't work. Any ideas?
Thanks
if anyone had the stock rom we could just reflash these damn things to stock does anyone have the stock rom? I also rooted with ring root. Also for the guy stuck on adroid logo just hold down the power button until the writing disappears then it will reboot but it will take a minute to do so
attempting to make a custom rom for these pos tablets
I think I am going to attempt to build a rom for both AQT80 and AQT100 tablets any advice on getting drivers for the cameras or do i have to make my own i found the drivers for the gpu from qualcomm but thats it

Any luck with those roms? Because I'll donate $20. I got to 100, rooted with Kingo root no custom recovery, no rom. Just stock rooted os, no customization, no nothing. I agree with the above comment, the galaxy tab 3.7 was better than this and for a free tablet, i still considered the galaxy tab 3 a rip off. The free slate10 was overpaying for crap. Sprint should've been giving us these things and telling us that they contracted a gold miner who pays 24x the going rate for gold. Take your slate to him, he'll strip all the gold for you and you'll leave with a check for $32,000. I might've still thought about asking for a gas voucher for the trip, but maybe I would've let it slide as an even exchange for the slate

So the only/main reason I want the phone is to be able to root, I been stuck with this galaxy s6 that cant be for over a year.. Every phone I have every had since the eris has been rooted.
I am getting extremely confused with what I am reading.
So the newer lg g3 cant be rooted or downgraded? Any sources for the older lg g3s that can be?
Was looking on ebay but every single phone has k in the model number in description...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I guess one thing that would really help my search is to figure out when the K versions were released.... Anyone know ?
Thanks

I hate to say it, but the model K can only be rooted, from what I've read, by Kingroot. And that's a temporary root. When you reboot, you'll have to root again.
Because there is no way to downgrade to anything prior to Marshmallow (due to a firmware change apparently hence the K model number), you cannot use 10b tot, etc to downgrade.
Also, since this phone is 2 years old, no one is actively looking for an exploit on this. It isn't really worth it unfortunately, but that's how it is with all phones. Eventually, people move on from them because they are old. I will say this, I've been running on stock, unrooted for about a year now and it works just fine. I do run Greenify (I have the donated version), and it definitely also helps with battery life. So, even unrooted stock is pretty good on this phone. I've uninstalled as much of the bloatware (mostly the games) as possible. And for those applications that I cannot uninstall, I've disabled them where possible which can be done in the app manager.
But model K phones do not have the ability to be downgraded. There isn't anyway around this that I know of and believe me, people have tried.

The details of the phone might just be the auto generated stuff ebay puts on there. I would ask the seller to look at the actual label under the battery. You could try swappa too, i just got a good Note 4 from a seller on there. Ebay is hard to dig through and find something good, lots of refurbished phones being sold as "new".
Thanks peeps learned some info I did not know.
I guess I am looking for root and recovery.(Mostly development stuff/being able to install roms) I am staying far away from the K version.
I been messaging people on ebay for the past 2 days.. 40 messages 5 replies :/
Ended up finding 2 without the k

Hey![emoji1] The Eris was my first Android phone!
Hey guys, I recently came into a Samsung galaxy s2 from work. The prolblem is the guy who gave it to me, gave it to me because he went to restore it and locked it up at a Google confirmation screen on setup and he doesn't remember the employees email used to set it up. He basically threw it on my desk and said if you can get it back running it's yours so I figured why not.
It's a Verizon model of some sort but without getting it up I've got no idea on the specifics. I downloaded odin but it's been a while using anything other than for Google branded devices and I'm not sure what files or Roms to download for this thing to even attempt rooting/cfw'ing without possibly bricking it out.
Any help would be appreciated, it's actually a nice little beater tablet to have.
Thanks in advance
I've already attempted googling for about a week+ with no luck

If you're asking how to bypass Factory Reset Protection, that is against the rules here. We can't discuss this topic here on this forum, sorry.
