When in relatively quiet area, I can hear my phone buzzing/static type sound every couple minutes for about 5 seconds. I wonder if it's wifi or similar searching for signal. It's real quiet but I can hear it.
Thoughts?

Go check into a hospital with padded white rooms or get a warranty exchange.

I'm not sure they'd believe me. You can't hear it unless quiet and their store is noisy. Maybe I'll just look for padded room? LOL

Kinda got me thinking and laughing when I read silentbutdeadly's comment in another thread about how he would have his amaze wash his dishes lol.
For our phone to be named "Amaze" it really isn't living up to It's name but if I had my phone do something it be washing my clothes as well. Oh and be my taxi driver. That way I can drink and not worry about driving lol

mine would do all my homework.
I'd put it in my pocket, and take out an sgs3.
I've have it go to work for me. Lol

I'd have mine spit out twenty dollar bills like a broken ATM.

I'd just have it do wifi-calling without a terrible 2 second delay. THAT would be Amazing!
I think the wifi calling could be fixed, just needs it to be fixed, same way older htc devices got them ported to their aosp roms.
well ever since my divorce... well i wish my amaze could bring me beers and do things in the bedroom :3

Speed room 7.7 has Wi-Fi calling with no lag. I was even using free airport Wi-Fi and it was working.
My amazing amaze would pay off all my student loans.
I have a question to ask. I know the Note 2 has a Mali-400, which isn't a very strong gpu when it comes to 3D acceleration but is decent at 2D. I play this game religiously on my Rezound, but its slow as crap. I just want to make sure if I upgrade to the note 2 I'm not actually downgrading on gaming performance.
So if you play, how does it run?
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2
No. I've played the full game of ravensword and it never once stuttered. Very 3d heavy. Same with modern combat 2. It plays great, phone does get warm though

Okay, so I don't really have much to worry about? I totally want this device, but it's one of two things bothering me. I can wait for the Galaxy S4 to arrive if need be, but I really like the stylus and large screen of the Note 2.
It plays awesome

I play all kinds of games and this phone rocks'm all! Go for it :good:
I currently have an HTC rezound and after HTC abandoned it after one update never going to get another HTC. I've been reading a lot about this phone and came across audio issues and the amoled screen cracking not the gorilla glass in peoples pockets. Is this phone really that flimsy cause Ill give HTC this they do know how to build tanks of a phone. I was wondering if anyone has experienced this and does Verizon replace it.

Android Authority did a drop test with it from ear height, and it barely managed to crack a corner of the screen from direct impact. I would venture to say that you could have this in your back pocket and sit on it, and it wouldn't crack it.
Of course, there always is that one lemon....
This was my concern as well. I just got a stiff case and a warranty so I'm treating it the same as my old GNex. So far it's been fine.

I think those few cases of the amoled breaking on the international forum were lemons.

I think that's the ones I'm referring to. The I9505 and the I9500s.
btw, WE MUST HAVE JUSTICE...haha C&C Generals ... very nice
The way I look at it, depending how it's dropped your phone may or may not break... Just get a good case. As far as the phone, the S4 is the best phone on the market in my opinion.
My screen seems pretty sturdy to me. You're always going to have a few lemons when something new comes out.

Mine didnt make it. I have the s4 on the useless sprint network but at least i get 4g lte. My screen cracked while in my pocket and i had a case on it. everything is working on the phone just got that annoying cracked screen.
I figure if mine cracks, I'll get the replacement and immediately sell it to break even.

So my lock button has been progressively getting worse. It has now completely stopped working. There are zero other problems with the phone and certainly no physical defects.
I upgraded threw a 3rd party VzW store. Wondering if I should go through them, Samsung or a corporate store? I bought it in February, it should fall under the 1 year manufacturer warranty correct?

Yes it should, if you go through VZW you'll most likely get a refurb in exchange, Samsung will most likely ask you to send it in and you'll have to wait until they fix it which could be a week or 2 and they won't send you a loaner phone.
This was a big problem with the Nexus and a few other Sammy phones and was easily fixed by taking out the screws on the back and just replacing the button yourself. If you have a repair shop in town you could probably get them to do it for relatively cheap or you could do it yourself, there are quite a few videos of people replacing the button for other Sammy phones and I would bet the process wouldn't be much different.

on my black mist verizon s4, i have some very strange bubbles surrounding the home button under the glass. at least i think theyre bubbles. maybe condensation? not sure what to do here, i got mine on amazon about a week after it was released on verizon. i am running an aosp rom.
do you think i could go back to the verizon store if i unrooted and did triangle away and get it swapped out? i also have a aluminum home button
Yes. If it's a physical defect not of your causing they should have to replace it. If they argue with you, raise hell.

Just make sure you use Odin to flash the stock ROM back on. Odin will remove the flash counter and should not give you any problems when the Verizon tech looks at your phone.
