I am looking to install the Resurrection Remix ics v1.4[4.0.4] rom onto my phone which is currently running stock LPQ 4.0.3 (it is also rooted). I am wandering if i install Resurrection Remix ics v1.4 do i also have to install the siyah kernel or will the rom already come with its own kernel? I also am wondering can i install the black theme for the rom right after i install the rom and the gapps or does the phone first have to rebot and does this theme work for 1.4 because the file name says black theme apps for 1.2?
The rom comes with own kernel, the siyah kernel is optionally, i personally didn't like the siyah kernel on Ressurection, becuse of the battery life and some few bugs....I highly recommend the thoravukk kernel...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574672
Install rom first, then gapps, reboot...let the device do its thing and then reboot into recovery again and install the black theme...
I say stick with the Stock Kernel

Hello, guys. I'm a newbie at this forum. Can you point me to some issues of RR 1.4?
1. I'm using RR 1.4 on my Galaxy S2. It is the great rom, but... Is it possible to set storage for camera to use? I used this feature on 1.0 to store my photos and videos on sdcard. But on 1.4 I haven't found appropriate setting in settings menu of the camera.
2. RR 1.4 doesn't install MMS.apk file during the flashing. There is no icon for SMS/MMS application in Apex Laucher dock. You need to install mms.apk file manually after flashing. Seems that it is an issue.
3. FmRadio and SoundRecorder applications are missed in applications list. I see them in /system/app folder but can't run. Also I can't install them manually.
Does anyone faced with the same problems?
I love this v1.4 all the features are great.
However i have a problem, i have backup all the contacts via titanium in v1.1 but i can restore them in v1.4. Please help : D

Thanks.

The most common reason for having issues like that is not following the instructions for flashing the ROM. It's harsh I know, but, flash it again - this time by the book and you'll have no problems. 1.4 works like a charm for me, Sound rec. and FmRadio are not included in this ROM and there is no option to choose storage on the camera apk.
Hi, but is there anyway to have rom boot with Galaxy S2

That's odd, maybe you can try clearing dalvik from recovery and fix permissions. If that doesn't fix the issue, and you can - reflash it and follow the instructions. Maybe it's a bug, but I don't have it so...

Yep, I have the boot animation.zip you can download from here
http://www.mediafire.com/?yypcbzvrzjzgfgk
using root explorer app, first remove the current bootanimation.zip which is in system/media, put it somewhere for safe keeping. Then replace it with the downloaded .zip. You will have to change the folder from R/O (read only) to R/W (read write) which is in the top right corner. Remember to remove the current boot animation.zip from the /media folder otherwise it won't work.

Hi all,
I'd like to change the contacts application I have in my ICS Rom with another one modded apk, I've tried with Root Explorer (replacing, changing permissions), with Titanium Backup (removing contacts and trying to install this apk), and replacing the contacts.apk in the system/app folder in the Rom flashable zip, but nothing was worth it. All i get is an error message that the application couldn't be opened.
What should I do to get it work? There's any particular procedure to overwrite a "default" application that come with the rom with another one?
How do I create a flashable zip to install it from CWM? Is it just enaugh to have the *.apk or I have to compile it in another way?
PS: I've also tried simply installing the new contacts.apk but it says "application not installed"
Thanks to everyone!
I could be mistaken/misunderstanding (but I researched when I wanted to replace battery icon) - but I think you would have to make sure you were on a de-odexed ROM..
Although when I tried to replace the camera.apk with the modified Gingerbread one on here, I got the same issue - so make sure the contacts apk you are trying to replace it with is for ICS also!
Yeah, I explain, I'm trying to import the contact.apk that came with the Foxhound ICS rom in my Resurrection ICS rom.
Both of them are ICS based

Yeah, but FoxHound is stock based, and Resurrection Remix is AOKP based. I don't think that will work.
You're right, I thought that too, but the contacts app is the stock one on the Resurrection, even if it's based on AOKP. So, in theory, the substitution should be possible..
If you have a custom rom just open the rom with winrar and delete what you want and add to replace then close winrar and flash .

Theory doesn't always work in practice.
@ctomgee: ahahahah I know that
@JJEgan: I've already tried that, but even when I flash the Resurrection (with new contacs in the flashable zip file) I got an error when opening contacts, furthermore android.acore process die after tot seconds..

Did anyone tried to use --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531222&highlight=lost cause i wonted to customize my status bar with it and after instal in recowery i lost my status bar and needed to restore system ;/ It looks fantastic and i'm wonderig if someone tried it in cm9 for legend (as i tried) with better succes then I
Secound question is if there is any way to replace stock launcher contats dialer from CM9 to Go launcher and other Go aps without "make as defoult". I meen if there is any way to remove from system contats, dialer and trebuchet and replace it with Go aps
the "Reloaded ICS" thread lists a deodexed cm9 rom as requirement - our current legend's cm9 is obviously odexed atm...
Is there a way to remove the "no Sim card - sprint" in status bar of asop lollipop ROM? ROM run perfectly just message on status bar lock screen.
As of now I am pretty sure that is still a bug in cm although I could be wrong. The only thing that I could think to do is edit some of the build.prop stuff. Specifically the code talking about needing a sim card. I don't really know what to change but maybe one of you guys could figure it out.

Hello Developers, sorry for bothering, I have a question about SIM card...
I am using LG G3 D855 model. In "stock Android 4.4.2 v10n" firmware, I am 1000% sure that I saved contacts to SIM card every time I add them, also viewable in stock Contacts app.
And I flashed Cloudy G3 Android 5.0 custom ROM earlier, they can be loaded properly in stock Contacts app, and viewable like in stock rom. Screenshot in below:
https://postimg.org/image/ka3xlafzj/
However, after I flashed "Fulmics ROM, Zoe ROM, Tekcafe ROM", which are stock based Android 6.0, also "Resurrection Remix, AICP ROM" which are non-stock based Android 7.1, my contacts in SIM can never be loaded... I tap "import" in upper-right corner, my google account option and import from storage option appeared, but I never have a .vcf file. Well I can use stock LG backup function to export them as .vcf file in untouched stock 4.4.2 or Cloudy G3 ROM, but that's not a solution definitely right? Screenshot below: (Tekcafe, Fulmics)
https://postimg.org/image/ys14ta7an/
Plus it has no option to allow me to save contacts to SIM card, in the ROMs mentioned above. I am suprised that even stock based 6,0 ROM doesn;t have the option of save to SIM, only "phone"...
I wonder why those AOSP based ROMs, and Fulmics, Zoe ROM cannot read/load my SIM card contacts? While it can't save to SIM, I think it means it cannot read my SIM.
(P.S. I always flash "RADIO_D855_21C_Step-han" modem before flashing any custom ROM. I even tried RADIO_D855_30B_Step-han modem before flashing Tekcafe and Fulmics ROM, it also cannot load my SIM contacts. I wonder is it a modem problem?)

This is due to Android doing away with that option as newer Sim cards are not set up to store data anymore. It started somewhere around 5.0 of I remember the code properly.

thanks for replying, but "newer Sim cards are not set up to store data anymore", my sim is not that new... it can be used to store data in Cloudy G3 ROM which is Android 5.0 ROM. Android 6.0 + AOSP ROM plus stock based are all not allowed to load SIM contacts... the main problem is that it cannot load my SIM contacts...

YOu have to understand that just because one distro has the option doesnt mean that all will. AOSP doesnt have the needed package anymore to do what you want as I said google removed this function. LG may have added back for now but it wont last. If I were you I would just start syncing with google or use a 3rd party app that has it built in for now.
