Installing CyanogenMod 10 through JB Bootloader - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Folks,
I have an S II GT-I9100G working with an official jelly bean 4.1.2
According to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1774541, I must install CyanogenMod 10 using ICS bootloader.
For some reason, I can't download an official ICS ROM now. The question is: can I install the CyanogenMod 10 using JB bootloader??
Thanks alot in advance

Rooting CM10 / Jelly Bean (4.1.1)

Hi,
I am interested in installing CM10 or Jelly Bean 4.1.1. These are my questions : I have 4.0.4 + Siyah Kernel. I understand that I should install 4.0.4 related ROMs. But, here I want to install Jelly Bean 4.1.1 on my S2 I9100. How do I it ? Do I need 4.1.1 installed before I install CM10 ?
I understand there is no official release of Jelly Bean. So, it would help if you could suggest me something on this.
Thanks,
Satish.
You don't need to be on a 4.1.1 ROM. Follow the instructions on the first post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29280423

I'm currently running a absolutely wonderful JB ROM with exactly that Kernel you're on. You simply must try this one. This ROM are built upon CM10. Take a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846706
And no, you do not need JB running on your phone prior to install this ROM
/A
you can just flash it anytime to JB. no worries

1. Yes, to install a custom rom like cyanogenmod, you need to be rooted and have a custom recovery like CWM.
2. Cyanogenmod (CM) have many ROMs, based on all android versions.
CM7 - GB
CM9 - ICS
CM10 - JB 4.1.2
CM10.1 - JB 4.2.2
CM10.2 - JB 4.3
To upgrade to 4.2.2, flash CM10.1!
3. Instructions on flashing CM and rooting your phone can be got by a simple search of the I9100G forum. Please do so, and ask any questions you may have. Good luck!

Am sorry, but I'm not allowed to give you ROM recommendations. I suggest you either:
- Try each ROM and see which suits you best
- Check out what other members say about both ROMs in their respective discussion threads

There isn't an official Kitkat update for the S2.
Latest official update for the S2 from Samsung is 4.1.2 Jellybean.
