Stock 4.0.4 or 4.1.2? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How would I know what stock firmware should I get? I plan on installing Perseus and use my custom settings with STweaks so I need it to be stable as possible Also. I have no idea where my phone is originally from, Im on CM10 right now..
Id like a 4.0.4 or a 4.1.2 rom... thanks

Perseus doesn't work with ICS.
Why would you want an outdated version? 4.1.2 is official

NO GB on SGS3
This method is rather old and Philz recovery is better especially in regard to SDS .

I'm using this, and I have no real problems with it. I did have one event of lockscreen lag, but it's not happened since. Been running it for a few days.

I guess the most stable is a 4.1.2 as 4.2.2 is only a leak and 4.3 seems, by user opinions as far as I read, not that of a "clean" rom and has bugs. You can also always try custom roms as they try to minimize bugs and make roms more fluid.
to get firmwares try sammobile.com or here on XDA the rom threads

Not an Odin image, just a regular zip.Is there any risk to it, now that I have the JB modem and such?
If so, can anyone link to a 2.3.5 rom samsung based?I tried villain but all links are dead.

ICS is not really a very good rom and I would recommend KK or JB
you should be good if you go from a GB firmware to a JB one
or if u want you could flash a custom kernel in odin and then flash a KK ROM like CM11 or Slimkat

It`s very safe to flash Jellybean or Kitkat. Download the latest jellybean from sammobile and flash it with odin.. Look around for tutorials how to. Note that you will lose all your data, but your phone will 100% work. That brickbug was only on 4.0.4 version.. To be sure and safe flash jellybean and after that flash PhilZ-cwm6 - Safe Stock Based Kernel. If you need more info, i`ll help you. Cheers!:good:

What do you mean by "original stock rom?". Are you talking about Gingerbread or do you simply want to flash an i9100 rom?
I mean 4.1.2 stock rom of 19100 by Samsung

So a few questions:
- Are you currently rooted, and if so what firmware (rom) are you running?
- Why do you want a stock rom? This device has two 4.1.2 custom Samsung roms that are equal to/better than any i9100 rom!
I see in another thread you said you were on Neatrom, which is 4.1.2, and that you were having problems accessing recovery after updating SuperSU; are you still having those issues or are you able to get into recovery now? It's important to know, as it will change how you install the rom you're wanting. .
