Does anybody knows about the quality from this aftermarket cable ?
Is the qualitiy from the camera the same ? I also noticed that the camera doesn't lokk like the original ,
is there any possibility to take the kamera off the original cable and attach it to the new one ?
UPDATE
i tried it out. but the phone won't boot with the cable. does anyone know where I'm able to buy the original flex cables ?

friends my touch was working 50% so I tried some packing near front camera (may be fingerp sensor) area below battery as shown in another thread and 90% touch recoverd, but unfortunately the digitizer got torn and touch got unresponsive. I purchased touchpad locally in mumbai at rs850 but after fixing it was not responding. it seems that the flex cable as shown in above link looks bended.
Thus my question since the power module which is on the same flex cable works properly, is it still possible that the touch digitizer which also connects the same cable may not work. or something wrong with new touchpad (tried 2 of them). or some other problem at the junction on motherboard.
at present phone can power on, charge and pc connectivity only.
I dont have any technical knowledge, experts please give some advise.
thanks..

First, check for disconnected or loose cables inside the gTab.
Next, if it isn't a HW fault like loose cables, then connect the USB cable to the gTab and run this ADB command (you will have to install and set up ADB if you haven't already done so):
Code:
C:\SOME\PATH> [B]adb shell "echo -n 1 > /sys/devices/platform/tegra_touch/calibration"[/B]

The attached pdf contains photos of the digitizer/cables and their connections inside the gtab. Check for loose connection and/or broken wires on both ends.

I assume since you didn't send in under warranty for the power connector that it's no longer under warrantly!
Exactly where is the break? Close to (or at) one of the connectors? Which end (motherboard end or digitizer end) of the cable? Obviously closness to the connector makes it more difficult. I have seen a post where another use had the break pretty close to the connector & fixed it though.

If you magnify the digitizer circuit (lower photo in the pdf) you will see the label for each of the lines in the cable. Assuming the lines run straight thru, it looks like the ones that broke are the power & ground to the circuit (VSS & GND). That would explain the touch screen not working at all.
Hard to tell from the video where the breakis, but it looks real close to the connector.
Your best bet may be looking for someone who has a broken digitizer (outer glass) or gTab and is selling it for parts. I looked in the Marketplace forum here on XDA & there is one non working gtablet someone is asking $55 for. I also saw another one up for bid on ebay ($40 latest bid). You my have to ask if the cable is good on them.
Not a whole lot of options for repair. As you've already experienced, the cable is small & fragile.
If the connector has removable pins then you could remove the pins, solder the wire to it & reinsert the pins, BUT from the picture it doesn't look like they are removeable.
You could solder the 2 wires to the pins coming out the back of the socket but they look too small to easily solder to.
The last option would be to rigg the cable to work. There are a couple of possibilites but I would rather you consider the other options before suggesting a repair of the cable itself. If you can, see if you can take a closeup, high res photo of the back fo the connector where the wire broke. PM me & I'll send you my email address to send it too.

Its amazing what a couple of stripped bread ties will doo, lol.I took a bread tie and stripped the paper off of it,cut it to the length I needed and wrapped the remaining wire to one end and pushed the other end of the tie inside the pin hole, lol. It worked like a champ! MY Grab has been up and running for over a month,I just knocked on my coffee table, lol.Thank you for helping me out I really appreciated you trying everything to help me.I am so happy to have it back, now if I can just figure out why I keep seeing black boxes on my games when I play them I will really be doing fine.Thank you again.
Does anyone have any experience with removing a damaged charging port/flex cable? I made a thread about a week ago saying that mine was messed up and one of the wire strip on the charging slot was broken, but and didn't allow it to connect to my computer for file transfer. I talked to ATT and they said the store couldn't do anything and that I would need to call in. I don't want to take the risk of a huge charge, and found a single order part here www.etradesupply.com/oem-samsung-galaxy-note-sgh-i717-charging-port-flex-cable-ribbon.html
It is cheap, and I have e removed the back of my Note before, and removed most of this piece except for the ribbon, and which I have no idea how to. Are there any resources out there to help me with this? I don't want to mess up a new part trying to install this one.
(PS how do I start a new thread on the desktop site? I couldn't find anywhere to do it and SwiftKey isn't faster than using a real keyboard on my PC lol. I am obviously new)

Youtube is your friend. Watch the video and see the steps it takes. If you feel it's too much then try searching on your local Craigslist for a shop that may be able to fix it.

Has anyone tried replacing just the digitizer on our phones? My friend's LCD is fine, it's just the glass that is cracked.
On my old HTC HD2 the digitizer was glued to the LCD, so swapping it out was pretty tough. I'm wondering if it's the same for this phone.
So it didn't charge also?

Just to follow up on my own post. I ordered the part, it arrived quickly, and it was DOA Waiting to hear from customer service now.
Be careful doing this I found the new part had the wrong antenna and my reception was gone afterward. Ended up replacing my phone because of that.

its took you that long to get the replacement port?
just replaced mine as well with the ebay one from ezletroniks(or something like that). $15 shipped, arrived in less than a week from California to Wisconsin.
Took around 10 minutes to replace. Charging up fine again which makes me very happy.
So it seems apparent that this is not a singular occurrence by any means, which is a little disheartening. But I just wanted to chime in and say that I'm currently on my 3rd charge port.
Fortunately, there's an awesome place a few miles away (I would trust the tech there with my life...he's fixed everything I've thrown at him thus far) that has been able to replace the part for me each time - but every damn time, it works perfect for about 2 weeks and then it goes back to the way it was before, which is always the same symptom: phone doesn't charge (or stay connected to the PC) unless I push the phone UP from back, and simultaneously push the end of the cable DOWN. And even then, sitting perfectly still, I get a sporadic connection.
Needless to say, the 2 extra OEM batteries/chargers (that you can charge just the battery with) and ADB over WiFi have become my best friends
So I'm wondering: (a) has anyone else had this problem multiple times like I have? And (B) has anyone else experienced the same thing as far as the "manual" method I have to use to keep it charging? I'm trying to, as much as possible, rule out the possibility that there's something else wrong with it
Replaced mine
Got the part, took about 15 minutes to replace. Hardest part was prying the bezel off the phone.
After replacing, putting it back together and making sure everything worked, I put the old port under a 30X loop to look at it.
on the board side, where the pins exit the plug, and go to the circuit boar, if you flex the port, I could see the pins LIFTING
off the pins on the board at the solder connection. If I had a micro solder iron & steady hand it would be a simple fix, but
since it took a 30X loop just to see it, and I don't have a micro iron, it was easier to spend less than 15 bucks, and 20 minutes
time to replace the thing :victory:

That's actually exactly what the repair shop told me was wrong with it...although I couldn't recall exactly until you said this. I'm pretty sure he's just re-soldered if each time, and never actually replaced the board.
So to a non-hardware person...is that problem due to faulty manufacturing/poor quality parts on the Samsung end? Or does that just end up happening to all devices with a MicroUSB connection as they get used?

I have a couple of guesses. One picture showed the connector was loose. It looks to me that the case tabs aren't soldered in. The other thing is I have one cable where the metal part sticks so far out that the plastic never touches the phone. It like sticking a screwdriver in the socket because you can wiggle the socket up and down. I now use a cable the plastic part touches the phone and doesn't wiggle the socket very easily. Wiggling any wire will eventually break it because of metal fatigue.

WRT your camera...
I have disassembled and re-assembled this phone about a dozen times, most recently I replaced the peripheral board which sits near the top end of the device - I think you should do that. When prying this phone open its extremely easy to torque that board or scratch one of the ribbon cables or pcb, (or in my case to pry the power button off it's solder points.)
My guess is that replacing the board should address your camera issue (provided you didn't damage the camera itself - you'll need to connect it to the new board). The price on replacement boards has been steadily dropping for a while now, so it really can't hurt to try: w w w . amazon. c o m /Headphone-Audio-Simcard-Holder-Power/dp/B00Q2MLNTW/ref=sr_1_fkmr2_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1421684856&sr=8-1-fkmr2&keywords=droid+dna+replace+sim+audio+board
If it turns out that the camera itself is damaged - replacing the board doesn't work - you can also replace the camera itself for pretty cheap.
I'm not sure about the GPS but it certainly could be on the same peripheral board as the camera. Worth a shot?

This was very helpful in doing testing before/after I replaced the board: h t t p s : / / p l a y .google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mtorres.phonetester&hl=en
Do not under any circumstances buy replacement parts on ebay! I made this mistake TWICE and received/installed boards that were defective each in their own unique way (one had no sim, one had no camera & proximity sensor). ebay is crap: everybody lists "new" for condition and then sends you equipment that is clearly beat to hell by some noob who apparently disassembled their phone using the jaws of life.
