[Q] SGH-I727R Rogers Failled Kies Update - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

I have a problem and I cant find a thread that's experiencing my unique concern.
Sansung Galaxy S2 LTE Rogers (Canadian Phone)
I was running Ginger Bread for the longest time and not willing to update to Jellybean for the fear of my phone failing...Guess what? It happened!
Here's the wierd part. I updated correctly and the phone was working perfectly with the Jellybean interface however when I turned my phone off and turned it back on, the phone was stuck at the bootable "S" Symbol. Wont connect to kies anymore. So what I have done is downloaded the Firmware (I ensured it was the Rogers version, not the skyrocket version). I reflashed the firmware and the phone boots now however it gets to the "welcome to SGH-I727R" Screen, "touch the android to begin". When I press the andriod symbol, I get a error message "Google Services framework has stoped unexpectedly, please try again. Everytime I push the Android, it does it again. I'm stumped on what to do next. Is this what they call a "hard brick" I'm tech savy and understand what your talking about however I don't know how to correct this issue.
Any help would be much appericated!
UPDATE: I can now access to my status bar. I can select Bluetooth, Wi-Fi.. When I select Bluetooh, it pulls up the menu to allow me to select a different user or even add another device. I'm puzzled.

Why is this considered the wrong forum?

This forum is for the i777 not the i727, you're in the wrong section.

"Call not sent" problem

I've been having this problem for quite a while now. Halfway through a call, it disconnects, and I can't end the call, I'll hit the home button, and have to roll down notification screen, and end it from there. After that if I try to make a call, it just gives the error "call not sent". And I can't receive calls too. Only way to get it to work again, is by rebooting.
I've tried diff roms, flash to stock, wipe, etc problem still there.
I'm now on superatmos 3.0 with galaxy RC4.1.
Its a long shot but try taking out sim card or try a different sim.

I'd try the sim change definitely. it's worth trying if only because sometimes its the obvious things that are the problem. Let us know how you get on

But why does it happen only sometimes when on a call? Data network never has issues.
Same trouble with my Samsung Galaxy R

Hi ad_ek,
I am experiencing identical problems in my Samsung Galaxy R (GT I9103) which I bought 15 months ago.
I am experiencing this problem since last couple of weeks.
Please do update me if you get a fix on this.

Same issue in Sgs2GT9100G 4.1.2
I also face this issue of "call not sent" in my stock SGS2 Gt9100G 4.1.2, this happens infrequently, have changed SIMS, cleared cache, cleared all data before flashing but not luck, is is got to do something with memory full?
I have a similar issue for about 2 months on the SGS2. This is how it goes:
I first had CyanogenMod 10.1 with no problems at all until i installed total recall for the s2 (for legal purposes). Bad luck with that because after i installed it the phone didn't have any sound at all (music, calls, microphone, headset). I didn't have a backup so i had to reflash CM 10.1. Ok, for a while until i got reports that i don't receive phone calls, i was told that my phone was closed (even though it wasn't). Luckily i have a second phone. So, i restarted the phone, and it got back to normal. Next day, similar issue, and so on for a week until i decided to change the baseband. Did that, worked like a charm for a week and then it got back to not receiving phone calls. Decided to change to AOKP (06.15 - i later updated to 06.30 but had to downgrade to 06.15 again because android keyboard kept giving errors). No problems for a week, but finally the problem came back and persisted. Changed about 3 or 4 basebands with no luck. I sometimes check if i can send or receive calls with my other phone, and if i don't, i restart the phone and comes back to normal for a few hours or a day or two. Signal bars are full even when it doesn't work.
I got in huge trouble with this problem and i would really like a suggestion. Please help...

Same issue here. Gotta change my SII, not buying a SAMSUNG phone any more.
Tried EVERYTHING and nothing works. I am pissed off. Camera also gives me problems...
EDIT: FINALLY WORKING, YAY!
After having wiped, rewiped, changed ROM, changed modem... Another ROM switch+EFS restore (altough my IMEI was correct) calls are working again.

This fixed the issue for me.
Thanks very much!
I'm having a similar issue. Each time I go to make a phone call, It gives me the CALL NOT SENT error on the first try. Then I try a second time and it goes through just fine. I've contacted TMO support and here is what they said after troubleshooting: "Alright. Upon checking here, I can see that we already exhausted all our basic troubleshooting on your phone, and I do apologize for the inconvenience. Please do contact out Technical Care at 1-800-937-8997 or 611 on your phone."
I'm wondering if any of you have a suggestion other than new sim card or factory reset. I'm going to definitely stop by a TMO store to ask them about the issue, but I figured I'd try here before going out there.
Here's a video to show you what happens: go to my youtube channel to view the call not sent error. My User account is DeSaaD37. This forum wont allow me to post the link to the video since I haven't posted ten posts yet. So stupid!
Solution
What seems to be happening is the WiFi calling bake in is struggling to activate properly against the chipset structure of Samsung. I watched error codes pop up when the phone first wakes up. Calling is not available right away. When Wifi calling is turned off completely this issue goes away. Not sure what needs to be done to fix the problem so you can leave this on.

Problem Case On Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I900

The cellphone suddenly can't make a call, neither receives incoming. I have already uninstalled the battery while it's on, took the SIM out as well. After installing them back, I switched the phone on again. Still, my Samsung Galaxy S II I9100 won't work on calls, though, its wifi signal works fine and I can still go online.
Problem Sypnosis:
The Flight Mode icon displays on top bar even the flight mode is actually off. Every time I make a call, a prompt box says "Mobile network not available". In Phone Options, once I tap the Flight Mode and it becomes on, turning it off (Flight Mode) becomes unresponsive, meaning tapping it again to turn Flight Mode off wont even give a flash. That's why I needed to take the battery and SIM card out, and as I've said, FLIGHT MODE is off now but the airplane icon still on the top bar. Have tried this also: SETTINGS -> WIRELESS & NETWORK -> MOBILE NETWORKS in which a prompt box appears with this message: "INSERT SIM CARD: Insert sim card to access network services". Obviously, I can't check the APN because of that. Along with these, the battery suddenly drains fast. I have also tried other SIM cards, they won't work as well and I tried my original SIM to other phones, it's working on them. Yesterday, the problem was fix when I had it taken to my service provided. They said that they only took the battery and SIM card out, returned them back, and they "RESTARTED" the phone, and the phone worked back to normal for a while. They didn't do "factory reset", they used the term "restarted" and in my understanding, they had only switched on the phone after putting back the battery and SIM card. Now, back home, the problem repeated itself. But why doesn't it work at my end?
Can anyone please help? Let's learn from this glitch. Thank you very much to all of you.

Are you rooted? No? Okay here you go, in layman's term:
-Download siyah 4.1beta6 from WWW.gokhanmoral.com.
-Download Odin(please search!) And Samsung kies.
-Open Samsung kies and install, including USB drivers(it will automatically install with the installation wizard don't worry). Then, make sure kies can detect your phone when you connect your phone to your com. Then UNINSTALL kies.
-Fire up Odin and make sure it can recognise your phone. You will see "added" at the bottom left of Odin.
-Turn off your phone. Now press and hold both volume down and home button. Then without releasing them, press and hold power button until download mode appears.
-Connect your phone back to the com and it will install drivers automatically. Then you will see added again at the bottom left of Odin.
-Remember you downloaded siyahbeta6? Make sure you downloaded the .TAR version.
-Check. Open up the file. If you see zimage or boot.img of anything other than another zip/tar/md5 file, LEAVE it do not extract. If you see a zip/tar/md5 inside the file, extract once to desktop. You should get something ending with .tar/.md5
-Go back to Odin, click in PDA. Browse to desktop and select the extracted .tar/.md5
-Do not touch any other buttons.
-Click on the start button.
-Your phone will reboot and you are now running siyah kernel.
-Search for any ROM in the forums and follow instructions to flash it.
Congratz, you have a custom firmware on your phone.
Please press thanks I spent 30 minutes on this

Thank you very much to you MarioFan1998. Your help is very much appreciated. I will be very slow on your instructions.
But I think I need to add what came out today. I went to Samsung Touch near me. They said that the serial number and IMEI are lost and my phone is corrupted now. I was told that these problems happen while updating apps. And they pointed out that the motherboard needs to be replaced.
Do you think I can still go with your instructions above given the new findings I have? Again, thank you so much for your being so helpful.

Thank you ksilver89. Is there a danger there? You see, in addition to what I was told at Samsung Touch which I consulted to MarioFan1998 on my reply to his last message, technicians there also told me that there's a possibility that my Samsung Galaxy S2 would go dead if I try to factory-reset it.
Can you please give me some advice? Again, thank you so much.

hey, have you tried flashing a stock firmware? just to make sure try to flash Gingerbread although it is quite outdated, it's more stable than that of ICS.. you can search here on XDA how to flash firmwares, read the instructions carefully and don't mess it up do not forget to wipe dalvik cache! and i think factory reset can do good at this

[Q] No homescreen or lockscreen after software update

Ok, I'm gonna keep it as short as possible.
I got a used S2, it was fine, it told me that it had to do a software update, so I did (the phone was being charged). When I turned it on, there was no homescreen, just black.. after a while it said something like "application is not responding".. the top bar still works and by using that I could get into the playstore and installed Nova Launcher. Then I got a new homescreen and menu, but lock screen still doesn't work. If the phone gets rebooted or if I press back sometimes, it gets back into the black screen and freezes, showing the not responding message again.. The camera and Whatsapp also don't work. I did factory reset, cashe wipe, tried rooting it with Odin, it still has this problem..
My head is exploding. Does anyone know what else I can try? Or like a way to make a launcher (for example Nova Launcher) the start-up homescreen?
Have you tried Odin'ing a stock firmware back to it? Its worked every time I've bricked mine

Also, it doesn't really matter where you're handset's from, as long as you only flash the firmware/software for the i9100 (as opposed to i9100g or i777 or something) its fine, the code's universal, and it doesn't change the system language when you flash it, and as long as you're not going from 4.1 back to 4.0, it keeps all your apps, setting, data, son and so forth without an issue (so if you're on 4.0.4 at the moment, you shouldn't have an issue going back to 4.0.3 is that's all you can find)

[Q] Can't turn Wifi off

Hi,
I have a problem with my Xperia P.
If i'm connected to a wifi network and then go away (lose range), it becomes impossible to turn wifi off. If i click the toggle, it shows it has turned off, but is still on and when i revisit the menu, the toggle appears to be on again.
Any advice on how to put this to a rest? I really don't have the nerves to do a factory reset and resintall/reconfigure everything...
edit: i have the stock ICS firmware and no root access.
Thanks,
M
Have you check it with power recycling?

Do you rebooted your phone?
This solves many problems on Android

Hi,
only a factory reset helped. I remebered that i have been trying out some tasker apps, so that must have messed things up. Even uninstalling these apps did not help, beware
I am having the same issue, but whats more I can't scan for new networks when entering a new area. It just shows the ones from the previous area with the strengths they had there.
Rebooting the phone helps to connect once but when I leave that area it's the same **** all over again.
I already brought my phone back to the shop where they sent it to sony for "an update" but nothing changed.
The phone is running the stock android 4.04 ICS
Any help would be greatly apreciated

usually this is from the wifi router setting ... might need to change the channels(1,6,8)....ICS has showed issues on wifi refreshing and reconnecting.. first change the channel from auto to fixed value and then restart your phone and try it again.. see if this helps.. also do let me know if you are on rooted device with custom rom or stock rom...??
WIFI Problem
I am also having same kind of problem on my xperia SOLA

In a last desperate attempt to fix it I tried fixing the firmware through PC companion again, and I didn't have any problems today so I'm hoping for the best.

Either you have to do factory reset or rebooting the device might help
Or you can delete all used existing Wi-Fi connection for starting a new Wi-Fi connection
On a different area...

Update android doesn't work

I've tried to update android time and time again, but nothing ever changes. I'm still running android 2.2.1 on my HTC thunderbolt. I've factory reset more than once and now I've rooted to see if that would change anything. In the screenshot below you can see that on the status page it never seems to recognize or put in my phone information. It's correct under about phone software, but not when I try to go to the status page.this has been like this since I bought the phone when it first came out. I'm thinking it might be the reason why I can't update. When I select check update a dialogue comes up that says something like "checking for updates", then it just goes away and doesn't do anything.
Thanks for any help.
