Hi guys,
I have a Galaxy Note 2 with stock-rom (XXDLK7, 4.1.2) and use Android's encryption for the phone as well as the SD-Card. I now today was stupid and rooted it with a rooting-kit by using Odin. The flashing was successful, but now I cannot access my phone anymore, as the PIN will not be accepted as correct.
Then I flashed the same stock-rom again (using standard settings, not using re-partioning), but its still not working.
How can I roll back this rooting-step? And can I still access my data (after rolling back)? I have a lot of pics on the phone, which I havent synced yet :crying:
Cheers,

I've bought a Samsung SGH-I717 locked with Rogers that's was working perfectly with my Koodo sim on LTE. Here's what happened. I was doing all right, starting by unlocking my phone (First success!). Rooting my phone (Second success!!). Installed CWR (Third success!!!) Why stopping there? I wanted to install LiquidSmooth JB. So, I've started the installation following every steps to the letter. Restart the phone... Hello? No more phone. Just got a nice brick...:crying: So, as a humble guy, I sent it to an unbricker. Don't plan to brick it again so to pay for the JTAG won't have been cost wise. I got my phone back (less 85$ ) but...with the AT&T rom (4.0.4). My problem is that my data isn't working anymore. The WIFI works fine but I won't see the LTE logo next to the WIFI one and as soon as I close the WIFI, no more data. I've tried the plain reflash from Kies. It worked, for the flash, but didn't resolved my data connection issue. I've turned on every things in the Wireless settings, it's not from there, I'm sure. Packet Data and roaming are checked. So, what can be my problem? Just to be sure, do I have to use AT&T rom from now on? No more canadian stuff? Thanks from a desperate guy...
You can install CWR and flash Canadian ROM. The ROM will be already rooted. That liquidsmooth ROM broke lots of phones. The ROM was actually for an S3.
It's worst now. :crying::crying::crying: Since the phone was unrooted, I want to root it again. I've followed this steps : droidgator.com/root-att-galaxy-note-sgh-i717-running-android-4-0 and now... It will only boot up to the Samsung logo. I can at least access the download mode. I'm so [email protected][email protected]$ tired of this.
Hello,
I have recently rooted my Galaxy S3 and today I tried to encrypt it in order to get access to my Exchange account (requires encrypted device). When I select encrypt device from the settings menu, I get very briefly the Android picture (with its guts open) but after one or two seconds, the screen goes blank, the phone restarts and it is not encrypted.
I have rooted my phone using the CF mod and ODIN.
If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
P.S. The S3 is running Android 4.3.
Thanks
Hi,
i've encountered the same issue. The fix however is quite simple. Boot into recovery and then select "wipe data". After that, you can encrypt without any problems. But keep in mind that all your data will be lost, better make a backup before
Cheers

I've tried to wipe data/reset the device, but the problem remains on my GS3.
Hi all
I have a user at work who purchased an S3 in the US and has since been using it fine in the UK, but now when trying to update the software there is an error of - This device has been modified no updates available, also when using Kies I still cannot update the software for them:
- The S3 has never had an SD Card, and still doesn't have one
- It has never been rooted, simply used out of the box
I've tried booting it into safe mode and wiping the cache but still no joy
Thanks

Hello everyone,
I'd be grateful if anyone can help me out with a problem I'm currently experiencing with my Galaxy S3.
The phone basically won't boot. It powers on fine, goes through the custom logo (for my network provider, Three) and then goes into the Samsung logo. There it stays, unable to boot.
What I think has caused this is that Three notified me of an over-the-air update to Android 4.3 from Android 4.1.2. I downloaded the update, and ran it, but I don't think it completed successfully and so the phone's firmware is probably now corrupt.
I sadly didn't take a backup and would really like to get the phone working again without losing text messages, apps, app data and so on.
I've looked at various options. I have the correct stock ROM/firmware for the phone (H3G version of 4.1.2). I could use Odin, or I could probably install Clockwork Recovery and use that. But I don't know exactly what I'm doing and in particular, how to keep my app data.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Hey everyone, I'm hoping someone is able to point me in the right direction.
I have an S9 Plus with TWRP installed and DevBase v5.9 as the ROM. I have made two backups using TWRP, one from when I first got the phone and a more recent one (within the last week).
When I first got the phone I removed a lot of the bloatware that came with it (Samsung stuff and other junk). After using the phone for a while I realized I needed to keep a couple of the Samsung apps, mostly Samsung Themes and Galaxy Apps (to keep other Samsung Apps up to date). This is where the problems first began.
I restored the backup I made when I first got the phone because I didn't remove any of the bloatware. The backup restored without any problems, I started updating apps, getting it back to the way I had it and noticed I didn't have any reception. I tried to make a phone call and it displayed an error "Not registered on network". I thought something went wrong during the restore, so I tried to restore the phone with the more recent backup I had. That, too, gave me the same message. I checked the IMEI number it was displaying 0000000000000/01. Definitely not my IMEI.
I tried my SIM card in another phone and it worked without any problem. I tried my partners SIM card in my phone and it displayed the same 0000000000000/01 IMEI. I downloaded the latest stock firmware for the phone in an attempt to try and get it back to normal, however, even on stock android it displays 0000000000000/01 IMEI.
So I'm in a sticky situation at the moment. Is there any way to recover from this problem?
