Hi,
Does anybody else have problem like this with Sony Xperia Tablet S? My logcat is flooded with error messages like this:
SensorBase: write_attr failed to open /sys/class/compass/akm8975/accel (No such file or directory)
AkmSensor: accel write failed.
Tens of messages like thies appears to log every SECOND. Can't be good for performance and battery life (that's why I started to investigate logs, battery did not last more than 24 hours idle).
My device is rooted using AiO and latest firmware r6b is flashed using Flasher from this forum. I had some weird troubles flashing, ie. device not rebooting while it should have according to Flasher and thus some of the adb commands did not succeed etc. I flashed the same firmware over and over again in hopes of that everything will be flashed properly.
In any case, firmware is now 4.0.3 (release6b) and kernel is 2.6.39.4. Recovery is version 3e Rev.39.
For me this seemed to be kernel problem ie. I suspected that new kernel was not flashed properly when I flashed latest firmware. However it seems that all the firmwares uses the same kernel?
Any advices? Thanks!
- J
Could you share the logcat?

Sorry, I already resolved the problem and thus logcat is not available :/ I just reflashed r6b firmware once again and these errors disappeared (factory reset did not help). Indeed I can use shell and I see that the file is there - before it was not.
I'm not sure why reflashing did help becayse I flashed so many times earlier that it just cannot be bad flash. Perhaps some AiO tweak did this? I ran quite a lot AiO tweaks...
So thank you all and if you see the same problem, reflashing may help!

My xperia x10i which is runnning on the android 2.3.3. Keeps on restarting continously for around 10 times then it can fully function. I've even tried flashing it many times but the same issue still happens, so I believe it's very likely to be a hardware problem. Also If I use the mobile internet it restarts automatically, but If I use internet through wifi then the phone fully works and doesnt restart. I'm wondering what the problem is on this phone?

Yes I have even reflashed it but it still restarts
Man I have the EXACTLY same problem.
It´s really annoying issue, I have the same opinion as you, maybe it´s hardware problem. I guess this is related to heating.
Is your country in a hot season? hehe
so are you running on stock se firmware? maybe it has some kind of bug, try flashing another kernel, check in the development section to see how...
Just to further clarify, did you format /data and /cache before installing the 2.3.3 ROM ? Because this is a reported issue when migrating from one android version to another without clearing the data.

Useless post. Try to be nice to a coleague that is having a problem.
Another info I forget to mention, I´m not using any overclock, this problem happens either with custom or stock kernels. So I guess this is not kernel related.
a new kernel or updating android OS will clean ur phone
I think it mainly has to do with the improper discharge of the battery. Try changing the battery. Many people say it solved their problems.

What do you mean by clear all user data? I used the original SE firmware to flash It. Once I rooted my phone and then I flashed it to get rid of it.

Did you do a factory reset before flashing the rom? Just an idea; couldn't make it out from the thread...

Same problem here. Sometimes just out of the blue but mostly when downloading via 3G. I never had a spontaneous reboot while using WiFi.
This started after installing stock firmware 2.3.3
Have tried a couple of things now:
- Reinstall stock firmware 2.3.3
- Unlock bootloader and load custom firmware (DooMKernel v6). Tried the full OC version, medium OC version and currently run the fail safe version
- Install custom rom (FeraLab) which is Android 2.3.7
Damn thing still keeps rebooting. And I still have a year left on my current plan...

Oh ryt, I noticed this issue when I flashed it on android 2.3 and would keep on restarting like 15 times. So I downgraded the firmware to 2.1 and it just restarts on if mobile internet is used. I have sent my phone to a recycle company, they will pay £91. Hopefully if they don't find this minor fault. Anyway I'm getting the samsung galaxy S - I9000 as a replacement. Samsung phones never restart lol.
Come on guys, anyone please?
This is a very annoying problem. I did a research on google and it seems to be a known hardware bug.
I flashed my sgs2 to the above. Currently on
Adroid version..2.3.6
Baseband ....i9100xxkI4
Kernel [email protected] s2 #k2-18
Build... Checkrom renohd v4
I saw an update in kitchpro that there's an update to k2-21. After downloading the file via the app, the phone restarted and when it boots, its still at k2-18.
I tried going into the particular download folder to run the file. Phone restarted with some txt flashing by the screen as if its doing some update. Upon bootup, I am still at k2-18.
Did I missed anything else? I would like to try out other kernel as well but not sure if it will crash my phone.
Any advice from seasoned users here?

go into recovery. go to were it says install zip. then scroll to find the checkrom folder.there you should have all the stuff you downloaded from the kitchen. select the kernel and flash it. reboot and then you should have your new kernel installed
Thanks Bro! It worked for me. I am actually trying different co fig to got the best battery out of my s2
Hey folks,
I installed Helly Bean a few months back and just downloaded an updated version of the ROM - when I went to flash it I discovered that I can no longer get to Recover, when I choose 'Reboot' and select 'Recovery' the phone reboots but just lands on a black screen. The touch buttons at the bottom of the phone light up when you touch any of them - but otherwise nothing happens; I have to hold the power button to reboot the phone again and it just starts up as normal.
I tried using CWM ROM Manager to flash a new recovery (Choosing 'Samsung Vibrant (MTD)') - but it says there's no officially supported CWM Recovery yet for my device, and asks if I have installed one manually. I've looked into it...but I can't seem to find HOW to install one manually.
It's really not a pressing thing as my current ROM works well enough...but it'd be nice to figure out a solution. I'm still pretty much a noob at all of the Android development stuff...so please bear with me. Any advice would be most appreciated!
There was a build of helly that caused this issue. What is the build date you are running?

Looks like Sept 27th - thought I thought it was older than that.
It was actually the kernel that caused the issue, I'll look into the build date/number.
Edit:that is the build, flash the latest .tar kernel in Odin, then boot to recovery and flash new ROM.

Thank you for checking!
Quick follow-up! Back when I flashed the ROM (and previous ROMs) I had a PC - so I'm familiar with Odin, but since then it crapped out and now I'm saddled with a Mac. I've investigated a Mac alternative...but all the threads I've found have dried up download links and don't quite explain the process of setting it up. Any advice there?
Worse case scenario I boot up the PC and try to get through the process of using Odin - but as the problem is that the graphics card is dying; the thing could crap out again at any moment - which I assume could brick my phone if it happened mid-flash.
Thanks!
Not real familiar with Mac. Heimdall is the only program I'm aware of, Im not sure if you can flash a kernel with it. Sorry

Got it solved with Odin. Thanks for the point in the right direction!
Hey guys, I am quite new to this flashing roms, kernals, etc.. I am not a novice when it comes to general programming, just to the mobile devices. Well, I installed Jellyverse 3.0, and at the OS startup (where you would normally enter google account information for sync) It had told me the UI had stopped working. I did this twice to test.. The pull down status bar wouldnt work, no animations, and no 3g on the first run. I decided {MAYBE} and I say that with an extreme giggly voice, I had done something wrong. So, I followed the process again and of course, same problem. The third time I installed, when I got the UI stopped working error (before I made the first selection after install even) I decided to just Reboot the device. Thus rebooted and continued on without any error. My question is what did I miss on the install leading to this problem? I notice I don't have anykind of themed screen transition, is this because of the error? Any response and feed back if aprriciated, Thanks!

Thank you, for your response. Yes, I did try wiping ALL data.. Still have the same error. The phone is up and running, flawless (after a reboot of said error..) I'm just wondering if I missed anything and reporting back for future bug fixes. Is there no screen transition animation to this rom?
That rom.is cm10.1 4.2.2?

Hello all,
I tried installing the A1 Kernel today for the USB charging and the voodoo sound, among other things. I flashed it by wiping the caches, and then installing the kernel from the .zip file. Everything installed well, and I was able to boot up and use the device, and even overclock, test the usb charging, and run a simple benchmark through the quadrant app.
After I did the benchmark test, for some reason the orientation of my device flipped, i.e when I would hold it the normal way, the screen would flip, then when I held it that way, it would flip again, thus the screen would always be upside down. I never changed any settings or anything so I'm not sure why this occurred or how to fix it. I tried toggling the auto-rotate switch a few times, rebooting, and even wiping the caches again to no avail. Luckily I made a nandroid backup just before flashing it, so I was able to get back to the CM 10.1 kernel and the problem was remedied, but I want to be able to take advantage of the A1 kernel.
If anyone can shed some light on the situation, with a reason or fix that would be terrific.
Thank you!
Did you flash the correct version? There are stock and cm versions of A1 kernel.

I downloaded the CM version from the xda thread. It says it's meant for 3G but It will work on the wi-fi version as well.
One thing I did differently was I download the zip file straight from my tablet, and then ran Cwm recovery to install it from the SD card, rather than downloading it on my computer, transferring it to my tablet, and then installing it. Could that be it?

Nope, I don't think that will help. Maybe you should post this in the A1 kernel thread for AAcount to help you.

Tried posting there a few days ago before even flashing asking a couple questions about the Kernel with no response. I guess there isn't much activity in that thread anymore.
Update
So I tried installing the A1 kernel again to see what would happen, and I ended up with the same result. For some reason after I install this kernel, the device orientation gets all topsy turvy: the screen will either always be flipped, or the screen will not rotate at all.
I restored my nandroid backup and everything is normal now, running the CM kernel instead of the A1.
Can anyone help me?
