[Q] S3 4.2.1 leaked downgrade to 4.2.1???/ - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All
I downloaded and flashed the leaked 4.2.1 jelly bean (odin flashable) rom and flashed it on my S3. I want to downgrade to I9300XXEMB1 4.1.2. How do i do that? I flashed the 4.1.2 rom but when it reboots it just go into a bootloop, rebooting to the samsung logo every time. Then i had to flash it back to 4.2.1 rom. The new rom also dos not have developer options in settings. Please Help i want 4.1.2 back. ps my phone is not rooted.
Thanx

If you want to go completely stock
Run triangle away
Flash Rom with Odin
Factory reset
It should then boot after the reset, you will lose your data and sd card content doing this
---------- Post added at 07:47 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:45 AM ----------
Btw.....to get dev options on 4.2.x go to settings/about phone. Tap build number 7 times and dev options will appear in setting/

Hi Thanx very much.
Is triangle away an app, i will get it and run it, the flash 4.1.2 with odin and then factory reset. Thanx

Hi thanx allot, but i see to use triangle away the S3 must be rooted. My phone is not rooted.

your thread title misleading people =_=

Sorry, dont know how else to put it. just want to downgrade my S3 with leaked stock jellybean 4.2.1, from samfirmware to stock jellybean4.1.2. Ps my phone is not rooted.

Just do as I said, but your flash counter(alerts warranty claims that you have flashed custom/leak firmware) will remain at 1 so your warranty may well be voided.
I if you want to circumvent that you need to root, then proceed as I instructed

Hey,
I have samsung galaxy s2 which i just rooted yesterday. I dont understand anything yet aboat flashing a new firmware like 4.1.2 to my 4.0.4 ICS.
First I rooted my phone with Odin and file called CF-Root-SGS2_XX_XEO_LPQ-v5.3-CWM5.tar. All went fine and I had the root acces. After that I put a Siyah Kernel v.4.0.1 to my phone from CWR startup (install zip from sd card). Now I want to know how to install Roms(?) to my phone and how to install 4.1.2 android in to it?
Heres my phone infos
Model GT-l9100
Android version 4.0.4
Bandwidth version l9100XXLQ6
Core version 3.0.15-1114882

So how I can install it without bricking my phone? My phone has the insane chip.

Even though ur phone has got a insane chip, its safe for now since u have installed siyah kernel which is 'Brick Bug' free ma8
as for as leaked JB v4.1.2, its better to stay away from it, since its a test version not a official release by samsung
u can visit a cpl of rom threads in both the 'Original android development' section as well as the ' Android development' section, go thro the change logs in the main page of the rom threads, see the one that suits u best
then u can flash the same as per the install instructions on those threads and see

So i cant brick my phone anyway anymor or hows?
Can you name me some reason not to install 4.1.2? I would be so intrested in installing it!
How do I install the roms then? Connect computer and phone -> download mode -> ODIN -> put the rom in there and start it?
or
Can I put the file into sd card and open CRW and then run the zip from e.g sd card?
Do i need to wipe anything before doing either of them? Will it brick my phone??
Thanks mates!

[Q] Galaxy S3 4.1.2 XXELLA HELP!

Hi guys, Im a newbie here. But i always visited xda forum for information. But the question i wanted to ask wasnt into any thread. Or i was unable to find.
My Question is: I have a stock latest 4.1.2 XXELLA ROM in my Galaxy S III, But it is Creating some issues not major but Battery is draining far more quickly than old 4.1.1. So now i wanna flash back old 4.1.1 into my SGS3. But i m aware of it that Samsung did change their bootloader in this update. Will it be safe to flash back old 4.1.1 keeping this bootloader?? Or what? Should i have to flash old bootloader aswell? (The one from 4.1.1)?? Or I Just have to simply flash back old stock 4.1.1 ROM in my SGS 3 via Odin? Thanks

Help! 'Bricked' Galaxy Ace II

Help! I've recently rooted my Samsung Galaxy Ace II GT-i8160. I flashed with Odin and rooted it. Then, I decided to install the new leaked Jelly Bean 4.1.2 ROM. I flashed it and realised that my phone was no longer rooted. I then flashed with Odin (the same exact way as before) but now, my phone doesn't boot. All it does is go to the screen with the words "Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 GT-i8160" and freezes. When I switch it off, it just boots itself again to that same exact screen. I can't go into Recovery mode as it only boots until that screen and freezes. However, I can go into Download mode. What should I do?
Have you try to flash Jelly Bean to your phone via ODIN again?
Nope, I'll try it now
tell me the result.

samsung galaxy ace 2 gt-s7560m brick
Hi there, i have kind of same issue, i have an ace II gt s7560m and i rooted it using odin method ones then i decide to install a custom rom (JellyCream2.0Messi10 which i found on one og the threads here) and i did a back up of my previous rom and when iwas done flashing the rom, i reboot it my phone got brick. However what the phone does is it boots up and shows the logo samsung gt s7560m and after that it shut down itself !!!! i have been trying to go into recovery mode (home+volume,up&down+power) and download mode (volume-down,home,power) the phone does exactly the same thing boot loops. it is going to download mode and i have tried almost evry method posted here. i used odin to flash the kernal again but the device is not turning on for that much time so that i can flash. please help !!!
This rom is for gt-i8160 and not for your device. So try downloading stock rom for s7560m and flash it with odin. Remember most stuff here is for gt-i8160 not for s7560m. Yes they both have the same commercial product name Galaxy Ace 2 but they are different devices.
@g0dzilla1
Are you aware that you flashed s7560m with the rom that was build for i8160? Why did you do that?
Those two phones are totally different in terms of hardware. I am afraid that you might have brick for good. Send your phone to local Samsung repair center without descibing what you did.

I no the custom Guys Have managed this but that involves rooting and saving the EFS fold
that is all to complicated to get a Normal user to do
I no back in the days of Flashing we used three files and a pit file and re partition the phone
Back in the day we had to do this on the Galaxy S so no worries
we just need to know How and has it worked

I agree I don't want 4.3 as its a mess the clue is in the tittle !!!!
Firmware on sammobile Good as it is are single file and its well documented that as this has a partition change to go back you need to do a re partition that can not be done with a single file flash

Here is my exp....from 4.3 to 4.1 BTU
i did a manual flash of 4.3 from odin as my s3 is branded and i wanted the 4.3 update ..but then due to all the issue i wanted to go back to 4.1.2 BTU..
so i downloaded the MG4 BTU from sammobile and flashed it using ODIN on top of the 4.3, this of course landed me in a boot loop. I had not backed up my phone so i then re-flashed 4.3 back and that worked fine, i didnt lose any apps etc. So did my back up and the did a full wipe via the custom recovery and flashed MG4 this worked ok....
I dont know why i was in a bootloop after going back to MG4, i guess it was because i needed to wipe data etc before flashing the file?
Anyway this processed worked me...
ive been only flashing Stock rooms from day one...all of them being BTU as my phone is tmob branded and they dont seem to release any updates.
Basic Faqs and Guides its all posted .
If you want to roll back stock but do not want to backup your EFS folder then its your risk .Likewise if you fail to understand EFSv2 etc .
Anyone looking to repartition or mess with PIT on a I9300 is asking for a brick .

Both turned out during first boot "Deustchland" as primary language and felt something wrong on contrary Ireland/swisscom tags...However I kept on trying and voila...i found both as emulated version. However, i liked battety backup[w.r.t. me], camera, connecting to pc with previews of images and some other features. Then I saw this samsung's latest 4.3 Chinese version with different changelog. I tried flashing it but failed. Then I thought it might be a problem of that emulated ireland/swisscom version of 4.3. Just thought, back to original 4.1.2 may get me flashed this this Chinese 4.3. So thus did data flash/factory reset/ cache wipe etc from stock recovery mode and flashed this 4.1.2... it worked fine[downgrade method]. Then tried to get installed the Chinese 4.3. But failed still. Now, suddenly today I found that my s3 i9300 suffering from two problems with this stable rom 4.1.2 xxemh4 [upgraded through kies from previous another version of 4.1.2 which was kept on my pc for any eventuality]:
1. Bluetooth button does not get turned on
2. Phone shuts down when idle
My next method is to flash with pit, bootloader etc as given inhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2535367
Lemme see whether it helps myself
IT DIDN'T HELP! Though my network is ok, and so thus wi-fi, I just checked *#1234* and says CSC: UNKNOWN!!!
I am now trying to patched CSC with this one from " this as suggested featherknox]
