[Q] Broken Camera Lens Cover - HTC Droid DNA

Noticed my lens cover had broken sometime in the last couple of days. Stopped by Verizon on the way to classes and their suggestions were either claim it for insurance to the tune of $100 or remove the cover completely (leaving the lens exposed) ...
Anyone have an alternative idea aside from replacing the entire back cover? Would like to be able to use the rear camera again...

Camera cover

Does someone knows where I can buy the camera cover (the part with the lens)? I figured out that the quality of the cam is 10000x times beter without the cover on it, it looks like a 5MP cam! The quality with cover is bad because of the 100 scratches on it. So if someone know where I can buy a new one, please tell me so I can make pictures without first remove the back of my phone
Did You tried to make a new one from plexiglass?
Yeah I thought about that but:
1. It would'nt be as beautiful as a 'normal' cover
2. The lens is really thin so a DIY-lens would be a little bit thicker...
Man, You got right! Camera quality is much better without that cover... Now I am thinking how can I use cover form my one of my old dead phone which is better...
I have HTC Wizard can anyone tel me how to remove that camera cover actualy I have been trying to remove but i don know it has clips behind or its pasted, additionally its new cover is available in market or not or can I remove it before using the camera and set it back again after. Its completely pasted from outside but a strong adhesive, try a pointed sharp tip to raise it.
SORRY I JUST NOTICED YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT REMOVING THE WHOLE COVER WHICH HOUSES INTERNAL ANTENA AS WELL NOT JUST THE SMALL PIECE OF TRANSPARENT PLASTIC IN FRONT OF CAMERA SENSOR.
Just to improve picture quality you really dont need to remove whole cover, just remove the plastic in front of sensor.
Whole antena cover have 6 locks and the 2 side locks just near to speakers are very important, small & delicate - if you break them cover wont fit firmly and the antena patch may not connect well to the connector - you could understand the after effect.
so its a very bad idea - do only if you have a new cover again, most of time the cover sold doesnt comes with antena patch so you have to use some skill to get it intact from the old cover .
I am also looking to buy the Camera Cover (called Antena Cover) and the battery cover for a i-Mate or Qtek Wizard (Or any Wizard that has the i-Mate design) cos I snapped mine, well they were already loose, be careful when removing, my phones are 2nd hand and they were not very strong at all, you can break the hooks very easily, a bad design!
anyways, PM me if you have the parts to sell or know a shop online ships worldwide, vry interested (must have's).
cheers

disassemble camera?

Okay, I'm not sure what or how but I've somehow got something (actually several somethings) inside the lens of my Titan. Whatever it is shows up on all my photos. It's not on the outside of the lens so it must be something on the inside. At least one or two of the spots showed up within a couple of days of me getting the phone but then they went away. Now they're back and brought some friends. I can only assume that it's something underneath the external lens cover. I could try to RMA my phone but then I would lose my Chevron unlock with no way to recover my token or get a new one. :-(
I was thinking about removing the lens cover and seeing if I can clean it out that way. Unless anyone has better suggestions. I will try to update this with a picture of what I'm seeing.

watch a video on taking apart an HTC Sensation XL which is the Titan's 'roid cousin. That camera cover is all one piece under the first layer of covers. Once that's removed you could see what is between the window and the lens. I'd start by blowing with canned air.

Thanks. Before or after removing the camera cover?

Flash Leaking/bleeding

Hi there, i just took an Z2, my worst purchase ever. Not by the phone, far from it, but for the phone condition.
Making things short: i bought an used z2 with "only" the back cover broken, but already found lots of problems, and im solving then one at a time.
Well, the problem now:
I replaced the back cover, cleaned all the shatered glass, removed the remaining glue, its super clean, but im having an flash leaking.
The camera is fine, i tested it in any way possible, the problem, is that when i turn on flash, it burns the picture. if i remove the new back cover, it gets fine with flash, so the problem, is a flash leaking under the cover for what i got.
Now i need to seal it, but im in doubt the best way to do this: should i try to seal the camera , making maybe an hole on a piece of tape, and puting over the camera (under the back of course) or try to seal the flash itself, puting some piece of tape between the camera and the flash.
If anyone have passed for something similar, i would be very thankfull for any sugestion.
Of course its out of warranty, and i had spend almost the phone price fixing it, now i want to keep it lol!
here is a pic of the "burn". this picture without flash is absolutely ok. its ok too with flash, without the back cover:

Oh and depending the way i push the screen, near the flash, the leaking disapear too
Then you have installed the back cover faulty or the material ais bent. The flash gets reflected from the inner side of the back cover and thrown back to the camera lens. Try to install it proper or try a new one. You could also try to get some non-reflecting tape and glue it around the flashlight.
I bought some chineese replacement back cover for my se g900 and I had a blue light effect, when too much light was getting on this low quality "glass". If you've bought a cheap replacement then this may be an issue.
Sent from Xperia Z2
Luckily not from an iPhone = Yesterdays technology at tomorrows prices
i bought from a seller that said it was from sony, but you know, how can u trust?
well i found a fix, it was VERY simple, and effective :
I took 2 small stripes of black tape and did this:
take a small piece of tape, the size of the camera, and put between the black plastic, and the camera module
take another small piece, the same size, and put it in between the flex cable and the camera this time. the stripes dont need to be too small, longer is better, as soon it dont cover the camera lenses. the adhesive part of the tape, needs to be in the direction of the flash, and the other, in the direction of the flex cable, so when you sit the back cover, they will stick to the back cover, sealing all the light.
if anyone is interested, i can take some pictures
pictures please
can you put some pictures please.thanks

Rear camera lens is all scratched up. What can I do?

My camera's lens is all scratched up. No wonder I get lines when shooting lights @ night. Anybody else have this problem?
Is there anyway to replace the outside lens of the camera?
I believe you have to replace whole camera. I recommend a case so the camera doesn't get scratched by surfaces

I've had a case on it since day one and It's been like this since I got the camera. I just looked at the first set of night time pics I took and they show the lines on point sources as well. So It must have come like that. I've had the phone for almost 2 months now. I wonder if I should call LG.
I found this on ebay. I need one myself but i can't order it till my move on the 7th. good luck!

After you get a news lense, buy this -
LG V10 Camera Lense Skin 5 pack
you have a choice of what is posted in post 4, the whole mid case or get the lens from a dummy phone, you can also get some glass protector for more protection after you change the plastic len
I also have this problem. For me it looks not like scratches but more like problem with the coating (it looks like a smudge). It causes more flare in the upper left corner when you shoot at very bright targets (like street lamps). Otherwise it does not seem to affect sharpness or detail in this area (i also tested with daylight shots). I also ordered the replacement part listed in post 4 but it will take at least 2 weeks to come from china. I have one question - if somebody did the change - did this affect the picture quality negatively? Is this comparable with the original part quality wise?

Is it possible to replace the plastic back cover and camra lens?

So I ran my f1 without any covers because none were available where I live when I first bought it and the free is get disgustingly dirty after minimal use. I was going down a slope and the phone fell from jackets pocket and got dragged 4 meters down on the concrete. The Plastic back is completely annihilated and the upper part of the camera lens is broken. the camera still takes photos but they all have fogginess in them. the side got damaged but the screen is intact.
is it possible to get a replacement for the damaged part? at least for the back. And is it better to try and do it myself (I have some experience) or find a way to send it to an official branch for them to do it? I bought it from a 3rd party online retailer so I doubt the warranty will have any weight here.
yes.there are many videos showing how to do it on youtube

I'm yet to see anything about replacing the camera lens, I could replace the entire model I guess but that'll probably cost a ton.

You can try this.
you can replace the housing easily.
downside is, you cant find a rear housing with the flash cover ..almost all of them on aliexpress, ebay, gearbest DO NOT have the flash cover. they have camera lens cover, but not the flash cover which is kinda strange.
