errr... what are you trying to flash?
If you're getting a sig check try downloading the file again (I assume you're attempting to flash a .zip update of some sort from a custom recovery).
Make sure the file you are attempting to flash is flashable, a while ago I spent a good 1/2 hour searching for info on why the OC patch failed the signature checks, it turns out I had downloaded the zimage instead of the flashable update.
Sorry let me explain I has a Eris I just put the root 2.1 file on it and bootloaded it and it was successful then I moved to the next step install the recovery with a adb push and that worked when I tried mounting and pushing the flash_image not go any suggestions

Make sure the phone is in "charge only" mode. Do not mount the SD card.
I'll double check

follow these directions
Code:
III: Flashing a Custom Recovery
Flashing a custom recovery will make your life easier when flashing ROMs in the future.
1. Download the Recovery file from down below.
2. Move the recovery.img file to your \tools\ directory of your Android SDK.
3. Open up a command prompt and go to your tools directory, and execute these commands:
WINDOWS USERS
From your tools directory in the sdk do the following command
adb reboot bootloader
You will have FASTBOOT highlighted in red like it is here
Now on your computer do the following
Fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-eris-v1.6.2.img
Just modify the commands to match the names of your files.
its a lot easier to flash through fastboot.
I'm having problems with the flash_image

Just in curiosity ive seen rooting and flashing done on prior devices with terminal emulator right from the device itself!
Anyone think it be possible to apply cwm recovery zip or. Img file from terminal ?
OR root from terminal.. its been done with a few htc devices
Im just wondering if i tried moto- fastboot commands from terminal if it would flash romracers cwm recovery??

As long as you have the flash_image binary on your phone you'll be able to flash a recovery image from Terminal Emulator.
Ok so if i have the clockwork zip extracted into sdcard external using androzip which now shows recovery.img 4.7mb file in my download folder Instead of using cmd from windows laptop.
Now does moto-fastboot still apply since id be trying this from the device? Cause when u do it on a computer moto fastboot has to be in same folder as the recovery.img
What would be the proper command prompts to apply in terminal to flash the cwm recovery?
Im not all that good with adb or terminal unless i see command lines in front of me ..In the past i have rooted my old mytouch 4g when i was with tmobile right from terminal..

Did you follow globatron's guide for Honeycomb and s-off?
If so, why didn't you just flash the ROM zip file in recovery?
Edit: Okay, I see, did you flash the ROM zip first, then fastboot flash the boot image?

If you get into problems with ROMs/flashing, it is essential to include your hboot version in the information you give. Without this nobody can tell you how to proceed.
title says it all. I'm not sure where to find the latest boot img
help? links would be best.
The boot.img from the latest stock rom? Can't you unzip the rom and get it or use flash gui?
can't use flash gui, phone is stuck at boot.
I'll try unzipping, thanks!
I'm not too familiar with ADB stuff but you might need to use that. There's guides for that in the dev section.
Extract the kernel from the Rom you flashed. Once you have the boot image, place it in you adb tools folder or SDK and connect to pc. Open the terminal and navigate to the folder and type fastboot flash boot boot.img
Well there ya go!
werd. Ok, I'm working on it. Thank you.
You misspelled word.
You misspelled "I'm a grammar nazi.".
I couldn't resist...
Well then, shouldn't the "g" and "n" be capitalized? - "Grammar Nazi":silly:
I am a grammar Nazi, and proud of it!
I have a program called boot.IMG flasher in Original Dev that has the latest boot.IMG, modules, and will even flash it for you if stuck in bootloop or in bootloader.

It's the kernel and all related files packed into a file called an image file
Okay well i have a rooted Evo 4g LTE and i am sort of a newb with terms and what not however i have had this phone rooted for quite a while. Yesterday i think i really ****ed my phone up i was running cm 10 and got an update for cm10.1 in my notifications so i went and tried to do that without wiping anything... big mistake apparently cause it didnt work so i was going to factory reset and re install the rom now when i did that my computer said please format disk drive and it would not allow me to access my files. So at that point im stuck with a phone with no rom or access to my files. Today i got a SD card and decided to try to wipe it once before i put on the new rom on guess what it said factory reset failed it couldnt mount the SD card or something like that. So i am still stuck with a useless phone just to tell you i have twrp v2.3.3.0 dont no if that helps or not but thats what it is. Also it is weird that i am able to flash zips but i still cant turn the phone on when i do it only goes to the htc quietly brilliant screen. Any answers will be accepted please feel free to ask questions thank you.

I understand that i get it from inside the cm10.1 zip folder but where do i put the boot.img on the SD card? and then how do i fastboot flash it
Download kernel intended for your device. Inside the zip will be a boot.img file. Extract the boot.img to where ever you have adb and fastboot located (in sdk > platform tools). Once in that folder hold shift key then select "open command here". Type "fastboot devices" then enter and type "fastboot flash boot boot.img".

Thanks but one more problem there is no boot.img it is a boot disk image file
Inside every kernel will be a boot.img file. Make sure you download a kernel interned for your phone and that there is a boot.img in it Remember to be S-Off and in fastboot mode when flashing. You should see a quick progress bar on the phone letting you know if it flashed successfully
