No Connection mode menu in CFX Code Fire X - AT&T LG Optimus G

I have a question about CodeFireX CFX but as I am a Noob I can't yet post over there... I've flashed the Rom and Gapps but I can't connect my phone to my PC in MTP any longer. It charges when I connect it but I have no options on the device. I can still mount USB from CWM. My computer does recognize it as the same device as before and the driver is still there so as far as I can tell this is a lack of a connection mode menu issue. Does anybody know how to fix this? Yes I've reflashed and recovered and reflashed CFX.

Hero USB Connection Not Recognized

Hi all
I have a problem with my hero not being recognized by my PC. This happened after a weekend trip and i charged the phone with iphone USB adapter as i lost my one and now after returning from my trip i connect my hero to my PC to be greeted with the "USB Device Not Recognized" message.
Also my Amon_Ra recovery i used has been wiped and i cant get into recovery or install any rom at all.
I am thinking this might be the same USB brick that affected some Desire owners but i am not sure.
So please if anyone can help me, please do.
Thanks in advance.

this happen to me. What i did was switch my phone off, plug in the usb and switched it back on. then wait for windows to say it not recognised. then go to to device and printers and uninstall the drivers for the phone. Disconnect and reconnect the usb back to the phone and it it will pick it up.
Can you try booting in fastboot and tell me if that is recognized?
it still doesnt recognize it in fastboot

Sounds like its just a driver issue. Have you tried plugging it in, when you get that message open DEVICE MANAGER,... Find the yellow "!", right click it, uninstall, unplug phone, reboot PC.
.... Then use BTDAG's [Guide] How to Setup Correct Hero Drivers (for x86 & x64 users)
I hav the same problem. In recover mode it works but then turn on the phone, there is no popup options as before. Tried around with drivers but didnt work either. But found a solution which is very convenient. I dont know if it works on other ROM versions but I'm on 2.1 (Villain10).
- Install extended control widget (dont remember where I got it but you can google, it seems I cannot find it on the market)
- Add this widget to the home screen: Menu/Add to Home/Widget/ Extended Control bar (you can choose the size from 1x1 to 1x4) then select "Mass storage" at the bottom, apply.
Now you have a widget to turn on/off USB storage. When you connect Hero to the PC, just click on this widget then the PC will connect to the SD card, and click one more to turn it off.
ok i will give that a try

i have tried everything. changed the cable, used different pc but nothing works. i think is a hardware problem, something might be broken inside or something like that

No i havent and i gave up trying because i dnt think there is a fix for it. if yours is unrooted and the warranty is still valid you should consider returning it to HTC maybe they might replace it
got the same problem. Any solution so far ??

Did you try that?..... You need to do the reboot PC/Laptop after uninstalling ALL HTC drivers! Then when you reboot PC, plug phone back in, should say "not recognised" again,... then follow BTDAG's guide. T'is definitely a driver issue!
tried flashing 3 roms, modaco, radug and now kimera... none working.
can connect in fastboot, it shows up in device manager as android 1.0
ive tried 3 different usb cables and 4 differet pcs, still there is no response on my phone !!!
using villian rom 10.0 rite now.
okay it boots up into fastboot and fastboot usb shows up on the screen in red,
BUT when i use the "adb devices" command in adb it doesnt show the device,
it is showing as android 1.0 in devices and printers (windows 7)
You need to use....
fastboot devices
....when your are in fastboot.
What happens when you go into your recovery, select "Toggle MS/USB" with USB connected to PC?
okay
fastboot devices command shows some serial number.
then i tried adb remount, it gave an error....
enabling usb-ms with cable attached gives no response
ok i think it might be USB driver like ddotpatel said but i am not sure.
i reinstalled my whole windows 7 to 32bit now instead of the 64bit version i was using before and today i just connected my hero to my PC and windows 7 did its thing and installed the drivers and finally my hero can mount the SD card in my PC again although i kept getting this can perform faster in USB 2.0 port or something like that i didn’t care as long as i can mount my SD card again.
now went into fastboot and used the fastboot device command and i could see my hero serial no. but when i try to flash the amonra recovery i got the permission error (i cant really remember). i tried flashing using the adb method but still no luck.
so i went to market and downloaded rom manager and used it to flash clockwork recovery and now i could boot to clockwork recovery.
from this recovery i can now flash any rom i want and although there are still a few more problems i am glad now that i can flash custom roms again.
the problem i can see so far but i can deal with is
1. i don’t think fastboot commands work even if the phone is detected.
2. SD card mounts at USB 1.1 speed. (i have tried different ports and cable but still the same thing and this is the ports i use for my N1, Desire and my other android phones with USB 2.0 speed)
PS: adb commands for pushing and removing apps is working.
Hope this can be helpful to those experiencing the same problem.
Instead of re-installing your entire OS just use usbdeview to remove the failing drivers.
Also remove any old HTC Sync installs and install the latest version.

[Q] Soft reboot when swithched to usb mode(gsb 4.2)

So I want to update it to gsb4.3 but for some reason can't get it to download directly on my phone.
No problem I just downloaded it on my pc but when i connect and switch to usb mode it crashes/reboots. Happens with usb debugging on and off if that matters. And never happened on older versions of gsb or stock rom.
If anyone has an idea I'm willing to try it...this phone has been great but if I can't get usb mode working I will have to ditch the old eris for something else.
Edit: I got 4.3 update from using the stock android browser instead of opera mini. Full wiped then flashed and still getting a reboot when going to usb mode unfortunately..thinking it's my computer since nobody else has reported the same issue. Possibly AVG antivirus which I recently installed. Have to uninstall that and see...

I see that you solved it, but, in the future, you can try starting the phone in AMON_RA recovery, tethering the phone, and choose the USB-MS menu. This should mount the SD card as a drive on your PC. When you are done, unmount from your computer and press trackball on the phone to go back to the recovery menu.

CM9 and USB connection

Hi- can anyone help me with this, I'm using stock nightly CM9 and I cant seem to get the phone recognized by the computer when I plug it in via USB... When I plug in the phone nothing happens except it starts to charge. I tried different computers(all win7) for the same effect. Also enabled MTP mode and same thing. Stock ICS image for my phone works fine (shows as 2 disk drives). Any advice? thanks

Phone is not recognized by usb connecting to PC.

Hi help me. :crying:
I have installed CM9 stable. My phone is work only with charger. I am sure that's not problem with USB port, because only usb mode works if i go in options -> storage -> usb connection if i change from mass storage to MTP or PTP several times when in phone appears on the notification bar information about connection. It is temporary fix until i reconnect it. I also tried in CWM recovery and nothing happens likewise fastboot or flashmode and it is the same, only led is lightening. Nothing help like restoring backup from recovery. It can be caused by OTG USB modules ? How can i back to stock rom ? (I tried PC Companion and SEUS). I think something is wrong with usb modules in the phone (not Windows or PC, etc.). It is a option to flash kernel or rom without using PC? What can i do with that ? Please help me
Install all drivers for all devices/modes from flashtool (installation folder) -> drivers. Then try again
Otherwise reinstall or update PC Companion or Sony Update Service, they install some drivers, too. Or you try another PC :good:
I'm sorry but it's impossible to flash a kernel without your PC...
Sent from my Nexus 7 running Android 4.2.2
Ok, thanks for the advice. I am gonna try this, but how i should install drivers if nothing appears in the device manager in PC. Only what i see it is a called like „sony sa0102 adb interface" and only if i switching between usb modes in phone settings. Maybe the issue is in the phone like i write earlier about this. The smartphone dont detect usb cable present or he doesnt switching a driver for the connecting. Thanks again for the reply.
Sure its not the problem of the cable?
Don't forget to hit thanks
It can't be problem with cable because very rarely works in while when i changing usb modes in settings phone. But, thanks i will try on another cable. My kernel is from CM9 stable in zip file, but on this kernel only will work CM9 or nothing else like ROMs based on the cyanogenmod for example CM10 or AOKP ? I, one day connect usb otg (host) cable to phone and charger. This cable had 2 inputs male but also i have converter usb (female-female). And only work mouse and the keyboard (without usb flash disks, drives, etc.). I would be grateful for the answer my question. Thanks.

Unable to connect with USB

Hello everybody,
I know there are thousands of threads like this, but none of them gives me a solution. If I try to connect my SG2 (Stock ROM) with an USB cable, I get a really annoying message all the time. (Screenshot: http://www.techiesguide.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/USB-device-not-recognized-1.gif) It's still charging. When I try to install the drivers, I get an error message too. It tries to install drivers through Windows Updates, which doesn't work. Maybe Samsung's old drivers will work... Does someone have them?
My USB port just work. I can use everything else with it. The cable also works, and I've tried several cables. USB Debugging is enabled on my phone.
Things I already tried:
-Install drivers through download mode
-Cleaning up the USB port
-Different USB ports and cables
-Reinstalling drivers/Samsung Kies
-Removing the battery
-Install drivers w/o SIM and SD card
-Manually install drivers
-Soft factory reset
-Samsung Kies' troubleshooting
-USB Mass Storage
I hope somebody knows a solution for this.
Thanks in advance,

Same problem for me, I think my Micro USB Port is broken (I'm pretty sure). Just replace it for ~10$ and you'll be fine
