flash a stock PH85IMG of your choice via HBOOT,not OTA
see if this can resolve your issue..

I have been running the powerwashed eh09 gb rom with tks kernal for a day now... I would tred lightly with the cm7,aosp gb roms....I read on rootzwiki some are still having sd cards fried.
I'm not sure about the fried sd-card on CM7 but CM7 has been working great for me and highly recommend it. Especially, with the nightlies.
I could never successfully run CM7 or any other MTD based rom. CWM would never mount my SD card and CM7 constantly told me my card was damaged.

Thanks for this reply because it seems everytime I warn folks about those roms, somebody will chime in how well it works for them. Which is perfectly fine but in reality its a crap shoot and cm7,aosp,miui may work for some, but fry others sd cards.
Just wondering, JJHunter, do you use the sdcard that came with the phone or did you buy a new one?

The SD card issue was due to a kernel change that was reverted. There is no SD card issue now.

Yes I know... but I still wont recomend those roms to new users for the simple fact they could easily flash the wrong version and bork a sd card.
Hey everyone. After I bricked my phone, I did the steps to unbrick it, and it worked out. I then got it s-off. but now it says that my sd card is blank! what should I do?

Hopefully u saved every thing you wanted off of there before u did the s-off thing. Only way I got to reuse the sd card was to reformat it using a pc.

i know that some peoples sdcard got erased.. dont know why but its happens to some people that run lazy panda s-off.. i got lucky mine ran great and sdcard was fine.. luckly
Lazypanda softbricked my phone and sdcard was unreadable. When I retried the panda using the same sdcard the data was restored.

I'm having same issue. I achieved S-off but now sdcard is unreadable. I would really want to restore it cause I have a lot of pics and stuff in there. I forgot to backup before doing the process. Any other suggestions or instructions??
Edit- I did try running the Panda again but all it says is that im already S-off so it doesnt do anything.
That sucks. I put a blank sd card in before hand, because the first page stated 'backup your card because all data could be lost'. Hopefully you did that. I had to reformat the card part way through, but then it all worked.

It is worth trying a tool like Recuva or if you really are serious about resurrecting your stuff, TestDisk. Both are free, both are for Windows.
Another good idea, for the future, is backup all your pictures to dropbox. We got 25 gb for free, might as well use it. The instant upload feature makes it easy.

we got two HTC Desire Xz from two different cities. I was using custom ROM and my friend used stock ICS ROM. Strangely, same problem happened to both mobiles. While watching pics stored on sd card, it restarted and never came out of boot loop again. Both phones are dead now. Isn't it strange??
:crying:
Maybe you both use an app (pic viewer) that cause restart of phone; or maybe both use a low quality sd card...
DX has nothing to do with that!
did you try remove battery and place it again...and remove sd??
I can only think of EM blast around your area...

u r right, i removed other post. i tried everything but nothing worked.
Were it two different sd cards? Or one sd card blowing up both phones?
tried load bootloader to reset the phone?
it restarted when you watched a specific picture?

I finally broke down and unlocked and TWRP'ed my prime. I went to install androwook 2.2 but thread says to put downloaded files on an sdcard. I didn't have one so I stole one out of an old phone (4GB Transcend MicroSD C8). Went to press it into the side slot and it just shoots back out at me. Never clicks like its being held in there. I've pressed it in as hard as I can with my fingernails to no avail.
Am I doing something wrong, or is it broke?
Edit: Just tried it with a sandisk 1GB from another phone and it does the same thing. I'm starting to think I'm screwed...
I just held it in while flashing. Successfully on androwook harrybean 2.2 prime. Hopefully thats the last time i need the sdcard.

Yah, thats the whole thing, I only found out about this problem because I unlocked it and wanted to put a custom ROM on it, heh. So no sending it back I guess.
Like I said, hopefully thats the last time I will ever need the SDCARD.
Ok, just like it sounds.. Ive gotten to where the fastboot screen says "unlocked" and "tampered"... I cant seem to load anything from here that works I cant figure out how to locate the super user zip file... or any other zip file for that matter.. when clockwork recovery loads, I notice that it does NOT mount the sd card and everything else.. but there isn't a sd card anyway on this phone.. :crying: I do see where I can try and mount this stuff (the sd card and what not) but it wont work for me... Whats my problem and why cant I achieve this final task to root my att htc one?
Thanks for any help you can offer me.. yes im a noob
Wow good thing I was able to figure things out for myself... Absolutely zero help from anyone.. Great info here but that's about it..

Sometimes people don't always respond to every single topic. Your best bet would be to search for it. Personally I try to help where I can but I'm not always on here

Truth be told you should abandon the At&T. Forum anyway. Much more activity on the international side.
