:crying:
we got two HTC Desire Xz from two different cities. I was using custom ROM and my friend used stock ICS ROM. Strangely, same problem happened to both mobiles. While watching pics stored on sd card, it restarted and never came out of boot loop again. Both phones are dead now. Isn't it strange??
:crying:
Maybe you both use an app (pic viewer) that cause restart of phone; or maybe both use a low quality sd card...
DX has nothing to do with that!
did you try remove battery and place it again...and remove sd??
I can only think of EM blast around your area...

u r right, i removed other post. i tried everything but nothing worked.
Were it two different sd cards? Or one sd card blowing up both phones?
tried load bootloader to reset the phone?
it restarted when you watched a specific picture?

Download a free gallery app from the market and see if your pictures show up with that. If not you can always access them with a file manager like Linda Manager. The pictures should be in /sdcard/DCIM/100 Media.

unless u wipe ext as well (assuming ur on app2sd)
I know that when you have apps2sd on a 2.1 Rom and then flash to a froyo one, it'll tell you to reformat your SD to fat32 with no partitions. You said you didn't have apps2sd tho, so that's kinda troubling. When you mount your phone to your computer does the SD come up?

ive mentioned this on another thread but this has happened to my eris once a few weeks ago and twice on an old samsung non android about a year ago and if it gets deleted either a.) an application wrote over it (?) or 1 of 2 things a verizon employee told me that it could be the sd card getting too hot that it wipes it or theres a short in a power cord somewhere that could have caused it thats why i sync pix to my computer every time i use it lol
ok thats just great FML
I'm thinking about doing it. But I'm currently on the Nocturnal ROM and I love the sound mod they did. Is there anyway to get this mod on SnowJB?

I would say yes but don't want to give wrong info. But i'm sure you can just download the apks of those sound mod and install them. They should be around the threads here or playstore.

I'm sure it's possible too... These guys can do everything, haha. I don't even know what to look for, really. I've googled "How to get Nocturnal Sound Mod" and all I see is the links to get their ROMs.
I haven't tried it myself, but I'm sure there's some combination of these you can do:

Definitely let me know because that was my favorite feature from Nocturnal's ROM
Question with factory reset
To instill the SnowJB the instructions say to factory reset and was wondering if this will erase all my music. It's not a big problem since I can put it back on after flashing the ROM. Sorry if its a obvious question i'm still new to this stuff.

If you have your music on your external SD card it will be fine.

I'd suggest backing everything up to the external sd card and wiping the internal sd card as well. I've always had a few quirks if I didn't do this.

Yeah I do this and it seems to make a huge difference especially on this phone.
Running SnowJB
Battery Temp
Don't want to start another thread for a simple question but...
Do I really have to worry about battery temperature? My battery gets up to like 33C/92F sometimes. I don't know about batteries, but that seems high. What is a Lithium-ion battery capable of handling?

I'm pretty sure quite a bit higher, especially since in hotter areas that's room temp.

Maybe outdoor temp, I have Air conditioning haha. But my phone does not get hot at all with SnowJB not even while playing games and I actually have the throttling turned off too.

flash a stock PH85IMG of your choice via HBOOT,not OTA

Hello
Plz help me know the issue!
Whenever i unlock my phone it shows sdcard removed unexpectedly or damaged sd card..
But it automatically mounts it!
Sometimes doesn't..
Its happening from yesterday evening.
I was using darky rom.
Now i'm on alliance with siyah kernel.
But still problem persist! :'(

format it, try a different one, flash a stock ROM. if none of that helps, replace the sdcard slot

I think I would hv to visit samsung care as it is in guarantee period
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
yeah, but make sure it's a hardware issue first
Your SD is crap, try another or use Perseus (It have timeout increased)
change the rom, if your SD is crap, remove it and buy a high performance one, change rom to stock to see the diffrence if the problem persists...

well, this has happened to me after I dropped the phone - so I swapped the slot. so it might be hardware after all, the chance is small though

What card are you using and is it backed up. This may just be a one off, but it could be a sign that your card is on the verge of failing, classic sign of failure with SanDisk cards, whatever back it up and hope.
I finally broke down and unlocked and TWRP'ed my prime. I went to install androwook 2.2 but thread says to put downloaded files on an sdcard. I didn't have one so I stole one out of an old phone (4GB Transcend MicroSD C8). Went to press it into the side slot and it just shoots back out at me. Never clicks like its being held in there. I've pressed it in as hard as I can with my fingernails to no avail.
Am I doing something wrong, or is it broke?
Edit: Just tried it with a sandisk 1GB from another phone and it does the same thing. I'm starting to think I'm screwed...
I just held it in while flashing. Successfully on androwook harrybean 2.2 prime. Hopefully thats the last time i need the sdcard.

Yah, thats the whole thing, I only found out about this problem because I unlocked it and wanted to put a custom ROM on it, heh. So no sending it back I guess.
Like I said, hopefully thats the last time I will ever need the SDCARD.
