[Q] Installed custom rom over stock - Motorola Droid RAZR

I installed cm 10.1 over my stock rom via SS accidentally without having a backup... Now I`m running cm 10.1 on stock alot and slot 1, but only the slot one works (as supposed).
I had eclipse v4 ICS rom installed on stock, which i did via BMM, and now I`m not sure what to do.
Since the rom installed on slot 1 (cm 10.1) is working with no issues, I`m leaving it this way for a while, but I`d really like to clean up installations in future to install JB on stock with no slots, since I`d have more internal space available.
So the question is: What do I have to do to clean up my razr gsm and start over from a clean JB on stock slot (LATAM, isn`t released yet, right?).
And finally, should I face any issues if I install EU JB release?
Thanks in advance!

If you want to start fresh you have to go to stock recovery and full wipe, the flash your stock latam firmware of choice..

How do I know which is the latest Latam? Which is the difference between 6.5.1, 6.7.2 and 6.7.3? ICS, JB (4.1.2) and JB (4.2.2)?
Sorry for so many questions

i think the 6.7.2 one, because i flashed retail eu ics and the number is 6.7.2

Well, I`m trying 6.7.2-180_SLC-35_LATAM_SPYDERICSRETBRLA_ServiceCFC_fastboot.xml.zip... All I should do is restart phone on AP Fastboot, full wipe and flash it? (RSD?)

Btw, do I have to uninstall SS or delete rom slots?

do not use safestrap, this gains you lots of bugs and flash failures... it's quite not very 'safe' i think... use RAZRbootstrap instead...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347767
works perfect for me.
edit: if you're NOT on 2.3.6 the ics ota will NOT work! it's based on 2.3.6's kernel version...

Make sure you are on stock 2.3.6
If you are not on 2.3.6 then you will have to upgrade first and reroot before you can install any ICS ROM.
By the way, which ROM are you trying to install?

Do you want to downgrade to a custom ICS 4.0.4 ROM or an unmodified stock firmware?
Happy Independence Day!
Just flash stock firmware with Odin.

Good.
Follow these steps:
1. Download simplistic ROM and put it in your sdcard
2. Backup your contacts, messages, etc
3. boot to CWM recovery
- Create Nandroid backup just incase (under Backup and restore)
- wipe data/factory reset
- format /system (under mounts and storage)
- flash simplistic ROM
- reboot phone.
Done.
Happy Independence Day!
Create a backup, go to samfirmware, download stock firmware for your country, flash via Odin.
Note: You will lose everything so better back up everthing in a secure storage.

[Q] Updating to a Jelly Bean Custom Rom

Hi there!
I am wanting to update my Samsung Galaxy GT-i9300 but am worried about the process because of having installed a custom kernel previously (would this muck up installing a new custom rom I wonder..)
Please find attached a screenshot of the settings and please tell me what I should do (if anything needs done) before I flash a new custom rom.
Cheers!
if you're worried about kernels, then just flash stock kernel then flash a custom rom on it.

I am on android version 4.0.4 (so technically not JellyBean). and its safe to flash a stock kernel for JB despite being on that version before I flash a custom rom?
Sorry for asking, get confused easily..
you should be fine updating with a custom kernel (as all roms flash a kernel as well). Just make sure you factory reset when moving from ics to JB as you will most likely encounter problems if you don't.

I would suggest flashing ICS stock kernel first if you're worried. I thought you were already on jb.

Reflash the stock ics ROM

As far as I know kernel will be something like boot.img. I never use safestrap before. I don't know if safestrap has option to flash kernel. If it doesn't the you have to find zip flashable kernel not the img kernel.

Yes, you are right... I need to flash .zip based kernel instead of .IMG file.
SS is not having facility to flash .img file....should I migrate from SS to BMM ??
Or are there any .zip based flash able kernel available for SS?
Can anyone please help me on this ??

I'm also using BMM that can flash boot.img directly. But I think you can do this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2078021
CAREFULL: use just the kernel flashing part of the guide: fastboot flash boot boot.img
and be sure you flash the correct boot.img that you downloaded. you can download the right kernel from the other artur mode:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2260951
one more thing. I never done that after SS was installed. So better wait for others to confirm that it's OK before you actually doing this.
Maybe you can also try this tool to flash kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2399385
He says it support any fastboot device.
Thanks bro.. Ill surely try this

Friends,
This is what I understand after reading few relavent threads as given below
- First I need to backup my Stock ICS kernel and CID using BMM
- Then reboot phone, select System_2 froom BMM bootmenu ( as i want to install EU JB on System_2)
- In the BMM, I need to delete CID then flash Artmod EU JB kernel
- Then wipe cache, dalvik cache
- Now I have to flash EU JB ROM
- pl confirm : should I have to restore CID or not in last step?
Now I'll be on STOCK EU Jelly Bean 4.1.2 on my System_2 slot.... M i correct?
Pl. Guide... prompt response is highly appreciated...thanks

You don't have to erase your Cid if you are from Europe, otherwise yes.
And if this is your first time that you want to install some rom on System 2,you must activate the partition.
Here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2325764 are some video tutorials how to use BMM.
