I had a similar problem when reflashing an official firmware after I had used FreeX10 beta 4, I finally got my browser working again by flashing a generic 2.0.A.0.504 firmware and not updating. The baseband I have now is 2.0.46 as opposed to 2.1.54. It might be the problem but I'm in no position to say so, I only know from my experience that this solved my connection issue.
I haven't flashed another firmware over it but I'm a little bit hesitant to do so at this point. I'd rather have internet access then a newer firmware.
There is one problem i can't find that firmware anymore or link has expires or so on :/ i flashed baseband .58 and i have got my web working very well :/ so i dunno might check and reflash everything again Thanks anyway!
I've had the same problem. It's most probably due to the APN not being set up. Go to your providers website, and find APN configurations. Then go to the APN settings in the wirelles & connection settings. Create a new APN using the settings on your provider's website
I know settings my self allready it worked on previous roms... but from now on it just cant work on any rom dunno why :/
I agree, it could be a baseband mismatch. Certain roms need certain basebands (I know for example that TripNRaVeR's need bb 2.0.49 or 2.0.52, but FreeX10 (that I used to use) needs 2.1.54 or 2.1.55.
What you might wanna do is check out the Baseband Collectionhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=960527, grab them all, and try them, one at a time, until you get a match.
Don't forget to back up your phone - I didn't, and lost all my sms messages (bad me).
Read the ROM thread. CM7 is Gingerbread, all GB ROMs currently available use 49/52 BB. Dont just try them all, just use the one the instructions say.

If I (or anyone for that matter!) help you, dont be afraid to press THANKS!
CM7 doesn't require a baseband 58.... Try flashing some other baseband like 2.1.54
Nope :-( still none works :/ damn!
My Xperia X10 won't get any connection, making it impossible for me to call or text anyone. Is there any solution?
If you are using a custom rom, most likely you have the incorrect baseband. Please provide more information e.g. current rom, current baseband, what you tried, what that did...
*Edit: if you only just flashed the rom, try going into the Dev Tools app > Bad Behaviour > Crash the system server.

baseband?
which baseband are you using? You might need a patch....
I flashed to baseband 52 in an attempt to get cyanogen 7, but right after I flashed, the phone says that there is no SIM card and no service.
Fixed it!
I updated to the latest baseband. Thanks for the help
I was on stock GB 2.3.3. then i rooted my phone for the first time today. i was planning to install custom ROM 2.3.4 Phoenix. then i read somewhere that i need to be on the old baseband. and i saw a guide to do that. i did the same.
I purchased ROM Manager. i tried to download ROM. it asked to do a backup, and i did that - within ROM Manager. then it showed me few available ROM's. and i clicked the Mik's CM 7.1 and installed it. but there was no network. Wifi was working.
So, I tried to do a restore. but it said i can't do that because Clkwrkmod Restore is not installed. I installed it using WiFi, but it didn't work saying there was some files missing. then I thought of downloading 2.3.4 Phoenix to overcome this situation, hoping that network will comeback. i downloaded and installed it. but still no network as well as no WiFi.
What should i do now? is baseband an issue here? Pls pls.. anyone help. I know i did some big mistakes..
i will be more than happy to go back to even Froyo 2.2, my original stock ROM. i need to get network working.

You need to downgrade tour baseband for GSM. Andy's rom wifi does not work, flash latest 19 Sept FRANCO kernel only.

Hi all,
I installed PA v2.5. Everything worked well except my phone network signal. It is not detecting any signal. Did every thing i could do. wiped system/factory reset, wiped cache partition and dalvik cache. Fixed permissions. Formatted system. tried installing rom a number of times. Changed kernels from stock kernel to siyah 4.1.3 and 5.0. But none of the method worked. Please suggest the way i can get my phone signals as without network signal, it doesn't remain a phone.
Have you tried flashing another modem? You can download a modem here.
Why don't you try to install an other kernel? Different from siyah and stock... As kernels define how hardware work...

You installed siyah 4.1.3 with PA 2.5? They're not compatible and the phone shouldn't even have booted.
Anyways, if you're not able to get a signal, your modem has probably changed. You can check if the modem currently on your phone (settings>about phone) is the same as the one you originally had. ( I assume you've noted down your original modem details somewhere. And flash that modem from the link mentioned above. It should work

so please suggest some other kernel that works fine with pa2.5. I had installed i9100DDLPA base version originally. and now i have flashed it. still not getting signal. sometimes it appears but disappear next moment. it happens frequently. Now i have switched to stock ics 4.0.3. but i want this rom. i flashed resurrection remix and found same problem. but flashing stock modem fixed it. But its not working with pa.
Use siyah 5.0 or dorimanx 7.4 (or higher if there's a later release.) I think the siyah dev gokhanmoral has blocked siyah 5.0 downloads for some reason, so use dorimanx 7.x for now.
Flash the PA ROM, it'll automatically install the default kernel its using. You can install dorimanx after that. And then if necessary, the modem that works for you. Also you can use the getRIL app to match your radio and baseband. May help.

Hi, i love PA too but we have the same issue. Not exactly the same though. I get signal when i boot my phone, i get an H signal (the highest i could get before the issue) but after flashing PA, it drops to E only after about 2minutes. Pls pls reply back if you found a solution. I have tried different modems and kernels already, verified that Siyah 5 is not compatible, tried DorimanX, same thing. Tried 2 different version of PA, no luck. Not to mention that i also tried another sim.
GetRil did it..
Hurraaayyy....
getRil app solved the problem. It gave me the option of flashing modems which were matching my phones modem hardware. Thanks to all guys who helped me. Thanks a lot. Anyone having the same problem as of mine or any network related problem please give a try to getRIL app. May be it could work for you too.

Hi everyone, I recently flashed this ROM, everything works except for my internet connection when I try to use 3G. Is there something I can do to fix this problem?.
Go back to stock firmware, test first, then try again. Check you are using the right modem and md5 values.
