My Xperia X10 won't get any connection, making it impossible for me to call or text anyone. Is there any solution?
If you are using a custom rom, most likely you have the incorrect baseband. Please provide more information e.g. current rom, current baseband, what you tried, what that did...
*Edit: if you only just flashed the rom, try going into the Dev Tools app > Bad Behaviour > Crash the system server.

baseband?
which baseband are you using? You might need a patch....
I flashed to baseband 52 in an attempt to get cyanogen 7, but right after I flashed, the phone says that there is no SIM card and no service.
Fixed it!
I updated to the latest baseband. Thanks for the help

I had a similar problem when reflashing an official firmware after I had used FreeX10 beta 4, I finally got my browser working again by flashing a generic 2.0.A.0.504 firmware and not updating. The baseband I have now is 2.0.46 as opposed to 2.1.54. It might be the problem but I'm in no position to say so, I only know from my experience that this solved my connection issue.
I haven't flashed another firmware over it but I'm a little bit hesitant to do so at this point. I'd rather have internet access then a newer firmware.
There is one problem i can't find that firmware anymore or link has expires or so on :/ i flashed baseband .58 and i have got my web working very well :/ so i dunno might check and reflash everything again Thanks anyway!
I've had the same problem. It's most probably due to the APN not being set up. Go to your providers website, and find APN configurations. Then go to the APN settings in the wirelles & connection settings. Create a new APN using the settings on your provider's website
I know settings my self allready it worked on previous roms... but from now on it just cant work on any rom dunno why :/
I agree, it could be a baseband mismatch. Certain roms need certain basebands (I know for example that TripNRaVeR's need bb 2.0.49 or 2.0.52, but FreeX10 (that I used to use) needs 2.1.54 or 2.1.55.
What you might wanna do is check out the Baseband Collectionhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=960527, grab them all, and try them, one at a time, until you get a match.
Don't forget to back up your phone - I didn't, and lost all my sms messages (bad me).
Read the ROM thread. CM7 is Gingerbread, all GB ROMs currently available use 49/52 BB. Dont just try them all, just use the one the instructions say.

CM7 doesn't require a baseband 58.... Try flashing some other baseband like 2.1.54
Nope :-( still none works :/ damn!
I installed 4.0.a.2.0.42 Baseband -56 with Flashtool and then the ICS Beta base files provided by Sony i then have used DarkForest ICS rom(but the Rom doesnt make a difference)
I booted before and after DFrom to find no data working, tried switching to -64 baseband through .62 FW excluding everything but the Baseband.
edit: tried Settings > Xperia > internet settings (didn't work for me but try this first)
Still no DATA(Had orange signal but no G or 3G)
So i flashed back gto -56 baseband as that is what Sony want u 2 use.
Then i simply thought ill try this..
go to www.orange.co.uk/setup
and to Orange GPRS Internet ( under the 'setup my phone to use' Section. )
inputed my phones info
then code shows up on screen then configuration request got sent.
put in 4 digit pass code.
and BOOOOOM! the little 3G pops up.
Hope this helps
[OTHER NETWORKS SHOULD HAVE THIS SERVICE SO GIVE IT A GO THERE WAY, Google is our friend] Good luck!
XDA: Oops, Sorry this is not in General.
I was already on -64 baseband..
I did have the KA11 test v2 ROM.
I then wiped everything. Flashed Sony Beta. Flashed DarkForest kernel, then flashed Darkforest ICS Rom...
I am on Orange and have had signal troubles this morning.
What works for me is connecting to the T-Mobile one manually...
Unsure if Orange are having troubles or not?
You can also go to:
Code:
Settings -> Xperia -> Internet Settings
and it will download the appropiate network settings for your carrier automatically

No problems here DFRom ICS based on .42, -56 baseband.
(If ICS would allow it I'd use -36 baseband, best battery and data signal for me on GingerBread)
Anyway...
I would recommend using -56 baseband(most stable best battery life) which comes with 4.0.2.a 0.42 (also I would recommend this firmware as do Sony for the base to install beta ics .img's).
If u don't Have it already,
Download 4.0.2.a.0.42 here.
http://www.mediafire.com/?nkxkoo4fpfau875
Place it in flashtool>>firmwares.
Load up flashtool, plug phone in USB, press the lightning bolt then flash mode click the firmware version. And untick wipe system and tick exclude system and kernel so it only installs the baseband. Then try settings > Xperia > internet settings.
If that doesn't work try what worked for me in 1st POST.

Wow, thank you for that post
I was under the impression that -64 baseband was best.
I have already got .042 downloaded at home on my laptop I think (but if not, I will use that link provided).
Tonight after work I will flash the baseband and see if things are fixed.
Had no idea baseband affected battery life? I actually don't know much about basebands at all, only that I have the -64 one!
I am currently roaming on the t-mobile 3g network but it keeps going off every hour or so... will see how it goes
Thanks a lot man

Because aren't cdma and gsm different configurations. Cdma needs an advanced fix.
Gsm doesn't need this.
Simple resend of settings and correct -56 baseband does the trick ;-)

Yes that is right.
I was having trouble yesterday with -64 baseband on Orange UK (GSM)..
I flashed -56 baseband and noticed bettery battery life.
I'm still having issues with network though (think it might be my location, cos when I go home to a different town than work, it works perfect)

I am confused now.
I have R800i....... Orange UK..... GSM.... and was having data issues
Rom is Darkforest ICS
Kernel is Doomlord with wifi modules patched
-56 baseband now (was -64, but both have problems for me, though Orange is now working fine again now)
I think it was a problem in my area, because when I went to different town, orange works fine.
Hi there
I think the reason why I do not see a network or SIM card is because the baseband is empty as well as the IMEI.
I installed ICS Dynamite 4.0 and I assume that maybe the missing baseband is the reason.
I am Germany right now, does it matter what baseband I am going to use?
Interestingly when I flash back a working Cyanogen 7 rom a baseband is back.
Any tips?

Are you on the old baseband?
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
being in germany or any other part of the world really shouldnt matter about baseband....v10 is old baseband, if you rooted a stock phone, than yes your on old baseband or so I was when I first got this phone....In order to get v20, you need to use LGDMP v1.5, search for Doktonor's thread on flashing with LGDMP....it's not that hard really, and applies to any v20 series (a,b,c,etc)...all you do is extract the 7z file format, open LGDMP, you'll have 4 files total in this extracted folder.....I cant remember to the T on the whole process but the thread by doktonor is with pictures and well be able to help you out....if your having a problem with mobile data and dont want to risk switching basebands, than look out for aspee's baseband fix or a funny sim fix....it's best to go ahead and flash new baseband, it's easy though....as far as your phone not showing IMEI, that's common on some CM7 based roms, even neko95's Moto Razr-UI v7 rom shows no baseband on my phone, not exactly sure why it does that but I am on new baseband (obviously, since mobile data works)
Mod plz add this to sticky or link it in sticky
As we know there are two types of baseband's available for our device, old baseband which is used by froyo and some gingerbread rom's and new baseband that is used by gingerbread onwards.
To switch baseband you either need to flash baseband through lgmdp or flash firmware using kdz and both involves a substantial degree of risk of bricking your device.
What I will be telling will not actually change your baseband but will make the ROM compatible with the baseband you are using. So here it is how it goes.
-> If you are having old baseband and want to use new baseband ROM, flash this after flashing ROM
https://www.box.com/shared/jt2m8hl8jd6qul915z4g
-> If you are having new baseband and want to use old baseband ROM, flash this after flashing ROM
https://www.box.com/shared/r5l39a5ocaxr8zq1s46h
Note:- Patch for old baseband was originally made by adfadd and thats where idea came for creating a patch for new baseband. While the patch by adfadd is long lost in pile of threads, this is where this thread will come handy.
Flashing baseband through LGMDP cannot brick your device, only flashing full firmwares via LGMDp or KDZ_FW_UPD can have chance to brick

Here is the libril.so for manual search fix. My friend tested it on new baseband and it works.

i looked into the zip file and found that a few lib files are added by flashing the patch. would this affect the performance? my phone works fine in 90% of the time. however, sometimes it is just too laggy to even answer calls. it could become normal after some time, say 30s ro 1min.
i dont have this problem when i was using roms based on the old baseband. so i am wondering what would the patch do to the system.
thanks.

those libs aren't going to affect performance in any way... its the ROM & kernel that affects performance.
