I read this post about an ucmb4 modem and it leads to a link to download it.
Anyone on a custom 4.2.2 rom using it? If so how's it working and on what rom did you flash it too?
edit** I flashed this in twrp with a custom rom myself now. It's working just fine!
Thanks phlunkie!!
Here's link to modem on Blownco http://www.blownco.com/index.php/cat_view/91-phlunkie?orderby=dmdatecounter&ascdesc=DESC
Why should it? A modem isn't in any way a development project.
I installed it on jelly bam. It's fine just flash it.

Works great on paranoidkangdroid. I have notice some wonderful reception changes, I live in the woods and all my deadzones are gone. I have also had it on pretty much every other ROM you can find in dev section, so no worries.

Need i717 UCMB4 Modem PLEASEEE!

I have an identical i717 that is running 4.0.4 withe ucmb4 modem and works perfectly. I am hoping the matched setting will do the trick, if anyone has any suggestions please help :good:

I am looking for the same thing for the UnNamed Rom.
Seems that there are quite a few for the Infuse (have a friend who is killin me on Speedtest speeds).
I have to think that time will get us more modems for the SGS2 and I can then dominate him in that category as well !
Use the modem posted above.....I've been using it for a while now and it is much better than kh7...

Can I double check and confirm that you are using the above modem with UnNamed ROM? I am on 1.2 but will update to 1.2.1 tomorrow.

Doesn't matter.....a modem is compatible with any ROM whether it be Samsung based or CM based....but specifically it will indeed work for unnamed ROM...
Just download the file above from your phone and flash with clockworkmod...

Just an update.
I did load the KJ7 and oddly my data speeds went down approx 50%.
So for my location from tower (perhaps) I am doing better with the stock KH7 that I put back on...
It was a bugger to get the KJ7 off... I had to unroot to bone stock (did that to take to the AT&T store to compare with a model phone) then re-root and put UnNamed 1.3 back on top of stock KH7...
Guess I have to live with 1-2Mbps download speeds in my house.
I know we already have another thread for this but DA_G is not around and beside his thread is named 'ODIN ATT'
fyi Radio and modem are the same so lets not get carried away with naming
ROGERS_MODEM-CWM-XLA2
if any one can follow the instructions here and post I ll compile more as the rest are uploaded
Code:
adb shell dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p13 of=/sdcard/amss.bin
adb shell dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p17 of=/sdcard/mdm.bin
adb pull /sdcard/amss.bin
adb pull /sdcard/mdm.bin
Compress the files name the zip to the provider and upload them , thank you .
is this modem Supposed to improve reception and speed?

this is ot but in theory it shoudl ,
AT&T Galaxy Note don`t like XLA2 modem, no audio and reboot during call. To go back to LA1 use Odin (.tar) file that Da_g posted.
For the love of android can someone clearly explain what the lte issue is?
Still a little unclear on that...lte is working fine for me on your rom

I don't have any issues. As long as you set the apn settings to lte settings, you should be ok. Some.people ask about supl, well, I haven't had any problems making or receiving calls or messages and lte speed is still the same as stock Rom.

Anyone have the AT&T radio in a CWM flashable zip? It would be really useful now that we can swap between T-Mobile and ATT.
from what I ve been reading in the tmobile fix , it seem we should only be flashign one bin , not both of them , anyone agree ?
Ill compile all of them as long as you guys make sure you extracted the correct one .

Awesome, thanks.
I can't yet post in the dev threads yet so maybe I can get some help with this problem here.
I have svoice installed but I can't seem to use it unless connected to Wifi. If I am just on regular cell data - 4g LTE then it gives me the network error message.
I am in Toronto, Canada if that makes a difference. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

I am with Telus. I wonder which radio we should be using?
Have you had any problems with GPS?
Gps was not working at all.
Went back to Saurom 7.1 everything works apart from Svoice.
What rom are you having the issues with?

I have the problem with both OnlyOne and Team Perfection, but for team perfection I used another svoice because it wasn't supported in RC1.
I just tried installing blaze modem but that did not fix it.
Installed from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1573568&highlight=telus+radio
There are a couple of modem threads.
I saw an ICS Telus modem, I may try that on my next flirt with OnlyOne. For now I'm staying with Saurom, or until someone can clarify our issues. I'm really just guessing its modem or radio related. I found too, that upper back panel of phone was getting really hot.

Out of curiosity, is your wifi connection with Rogers?
I have not seen anyone with Telus in either of those 2 rom threads , mostly Rogers accounts. Its beyond me!!
Edit: I have just pm'd a user on the OnlyOne thread that displays Telus as his provider. I will update if he responds.
dont worry, you arent the only one. I have an HTC One X and I have the same issue. S voice works on wifi, but not on the network. And I'm with Bell.
Bell and Telus share the same network, but Androyeed, aren't you able to use svoice with Sauron?
kifac is in mississauga, maybe we could convince him to switch to telus Or we could kidnap him and force him to make his awesome ROM work for us. Hmmmm lol

As far as Svoice on Saurom is concerned, perhaps I misled you unwittingly by saying everything works on Saurom, should be "everything other than Svoice, I believe Svoice is an ICS only app." I have corected my post to reflect that.

The author is studachris. I copied this from a thread about T-mobile, just a little way down. There are several threads infact, so take a few minutes and find them. I know the xda search function sux but googling "using at&t galaxy note on t-mobile or wind" will get you all the advice and files.
Come back if you have any questions.
"Roms and modems are interchangeable, meaning you can use whichever modem you want, on whichever Rom you want.
The blaze modem is what you want to use for t-mobile
Also the apn settings for t-mobile would probably be beneficial"
I'm not blowing you off. Learn by doing.
Here is an example:

Capt is absolutely right. Been using the orig Blaze modem/radio on several ROMs (used mostly ICS CM ROMs). All have been stable with 3-9 mb d/l and crummy upload speeds as reported in the T-Mobile modem thread.
hey I have tried to look for it.
I've spent over 20 hours the other day/night flashing different roms and modems and searching though forums on here and google.
That is why im posting to ask if anyone has had any luck. it seem the modem I have flash really some only work with aokp rom but and the speed are good but i lost out on the s apps or I have only been able to get things working with the kid test modem it seem the blaze or blaze 4g lb7 doesnt like to work on wind while using uclf6 roms custom stock roms. but i will give that a try and see what in that link. I am just trying to get this thing up and running so I dont have to be carrying around 2 phones with me all day .
ps: I have over 7gb of rom data download that other night too its still sitting on the desktop so pretty much every ics rom and stock restore rom plus radio has been downloaded

Are you inputing APN settings? You can't get data without that.
Yes I have done that and the phone auto finds the apn for wind
but even after manual input still same thing. I have even tried the *#*#4636#*#* code and configure on that as well and *#2263# for the other rom still either one if the radio is good for voice or the other for data. I wish they had one that worked on both and good

Hello, i have just moved to amman, jordan and i bought an umniah network simcard but i have a strange problem. It keeps drops the signal all the time. The same sim on other phones works perfectly and other samsung phones like the note 2 or grant work as they should. I was thinking that the problem might be the modem. Im on rootbox 4.1. I haven't tried a sammy rom yet cause i dont have a good internet connection yet. Anyone knows a good modem version to try? Thanks in advance..
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
No one will be able to pinpoint a 'good' modem for you. Each person will need a different modem depending on their carrier and region. For example, I'm using XXMS2, while my brother, with the same phone but different carrier, is on DVLS3. I have a horrible signal with his modem, as he does with mine.
What you'll have to do is flash a few and test which works for you. They're not big files so you'll be fine to download a few without a good connection. Don't flash ril+modem, you want modem only.

Try the modems bundled with stock roms released by the carrier in question then the stock roms released by other carriers in that country first. That should help you narrow it down/save you some time.
