Maritime is AT&T's partner for providing cell service to cruise ship passengers, etc.
It's just a bug though unless you are out at sea right now you are not roaming.

if you are constantly 'roaming' and all your calls and data happen when 'roaming' they can terminate your service....they wont be upset, but you will be some people do it on purpose so VZW cancels their contract

Hi. Is there any way to boost the 3g speed of simple mobile. My phone is not on their approved phones but I just tried copying the apn settings of another sgs2 but not I777. Thanks in advance

The i777 doesn't have the bands for Simple Mobile's 3g. I'm pretty sure you'll just be stuck with EDGE.

Our phone should be supported. I mean they have the international version ours should work on there faux 4g.
Are they a T-Mobile reseller or AT&T reseller? If TMo, no 3G for you.

WCDMA 850 / 1900 / 2100.. this is the spec for the radiio part supoporting your 3g/4g magic.. that 1900 is no good cause tombile is 1700... 100% non-compatible unless you get a world phone...
Mine is the AT&T one. Yeah, simple mobile said if it's not supported then it will only work with EDGE. I wish there's another way of 'tricking' the network that you have the band that they support.

So you think you should be able to trick the network into thinking you have hardware that you don't? For what purpose? I mean you still wouldn't have the physical hardware required.

That's why i'm asking if there's a way to trick the network. I mean like changing the baseband or changing roms to a hellraised rom from a i-9100 one.

LOL.
dude, you are trying to figure out a way to trick the network into seeing something THE PHONE DOESNT HAVE, which is HARDWARE to support the frequencies...
so lets throw some logic in this shall we?
EVEN if you could trick the network into thinking you had the hardware, your HARDWARE wouldnt be able to utilize the network speeds......so what would the purpose be?

That's like putting on a costume that gives you four arms. The extra arms might appear but they don't do anything

What? Simple Mobile is a T Mobile virtual network operator reseller. They are in no way affiliated with AT&T or do they support AT&T frequencies. No wonder you're trying to "trick" the network into thinking its a different phone.

I'm just asking a question if it's possible to get 3G speeds. I'm new to the forums and still learning the aspects of my phone and the network. Too harsh..but thanks anyways.
It wasn't just a question, it was a seriously stupid question. Like asking if there's a pair of glasses you can wear that will make a Prius look like a Corvette. Sorry, but it just isn't possible. You can't spoof the network into thinking your phone has hardware it doesn't. Are you getting that yet?

yes T-mobile has data but only edge unless your in one of their "4g" areas which is really 3g plus. Our phone supports the 1900Mhz band it uses.
Thanks dude. I will check that!

Currently running 4.2.1 though cyanogenmod. Just unlocked the phone. Need help with a signal problem. Was told by T-Mobile that I was covered with 4g (H+ on my phone) where I live. Yet when I get home or even 4 miles outside of the downtown area (Portland, OR), I go back to EDGE service. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

I did, but they didn't have many suggestions. They said I'm supposed to have 4g coverage yet I'm sitting on Edge.
Hmmm T-Mobile usually uses a different freq for 3g than att does.

YOU CAN'T. the only way you can get h+ is in an area that has the 1900 mhz band, and that's not that many places. You can't change the phones hardware. Here's a suggestion, don't use an AT&T phone on t mobile.

It's a straight talk i777 so it's compatible with our roms, and also has the same bands available.
