i installed a modem or radio then it didnt work so i tried to go back to the original at&t radio and it didnt work still now i tried going to a different rom and still wont work and not its acting up if someone can just give me a rom or something to put my phone back to original settings like when it first comes so i have the original radio and stuff back please help me out i really need my phone im freaking out right now i really hope someone can help me thanks

My Vibrant dropped a couple days ago and went on the frits. USB wont stop flashing and then it would freeze when it slept for more that 5 min. Took it to Tmo and they ordered a replacement. So while its in the mail I decided to root and try and fix the prob. Flashed Bionix 1.6 via Rom Manager after the 1click root method. Now Im trying to get everything back to stock b4 I have to send this phone back to Asurion. I tried using eugene's Stock JI5 & Jack's Stock OC/UV Kernel but for some reason Clockwork was being a pain. So I Moved the file to the external sd and renamed it update.zip. Hit "Flash update.zip file from sd card" and then rebooted. Looks to be stock now but I want to be sure so I took a screenshot and I was wondering if any1 can tell me wether or not its all the stock info before I Unroot and send it to Asurion. Oh in case ur wondering I tried looking up all the stock info or at least for a stock "About Phone" screenshot and had no luck. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

but a stock phone probably won't have JI6 / JI5 on it yet.

dont know much about odin but i get the impression it needs to be hooked up via usb which im still having problems with. I figured they wouldnt look much into it because I sent them a bricked G1 b4 and never heard anything back about it. Just tryin to cover my ass cuz u never really know i guess.
as the as asking a question in the dev section ur probably right. i just figured i get a quicker more educated answer here. Plus I wasnt event thinking about that when I posted it. I'll be sure to post in the right section next time. Thanks for the help.
ok so I'm trying to use odin with no prior experience and this is what I got. I did what the thread said and now odin is stuck on file analysis. I ended up pulling the plug and retried it twice with about 20min between each pull. I read on a few threads that odin 1.00 likes to hang. does this sound like its what its doing?

I think I know what happened, reason; I had the same issue not 48 hours ago 3G for about 1-8 sec then nothing, 1X for about 1-10 sec then nothing, over and over, kept hoping it would come back but did not, trust me bra, I feel ur pain.
I went to commrom for the first time and did not flash a kernel or the new radio. (I WAS a total noob, now as you will see, I think I got this...)
So, guess what? back to stock for you!
( i know you've done it like 100 times by now just go with it, trust me!)
Once back to 2.1 (odin!)
Use the Guide somewhere on here to get your "spanking new radio", I cant remember the post, someone might link it below here once I get them rolling.
Then go to the stock 2.2 ROM on here

Follow the 2 old guides (sorry no links! XP) once you are at 2.1 to install the new radio and then the 2.2 stock bloated rom....
Once you have your new radio flash in CWM, move up to 2.2 stock rom, pick an aftermarket ROM ( I use the new EF) and an OC Kernel (I use OTB, its nice, google it) , flash ROM then Kernel before you boot into the new Custom Rom (EF) and here is the kicker....
You need to use your "My VZW" account online, move your phone service to another VZW phone, activate it then move it back to your fascinate, i know, it sucks...
This SEEMS to kick your new radio in the arse and get it working correct again.
I got lucky and a friend at work had an old phone he let me use for 5 min.
Beg, borrow, steal, whatever, once you xfer back to your fascinate, reactive using the menus, turn on mobile data after a reboot and hope!

ok i searched and went through the 5 pages of results and dont see my answer so here we go...
i have a replacement HTC Thunderbolt arriving today however i dont want to start all my mods and tweaks from scratch. I use Rom Manager to flash roms and occasionally make a image backup of the phone in case i screwed it up. but here's where im not sure...will the following me transferable to the new phone from a back up...
after i root the phone and install rom manager on the new device, will all the things in my sig restore or will some things need to be done over again? i would assume itll all just restore on because it mirrors the phone as an exact replica. just some apps might need registered again since the device ID will be different. am i wrong? thanks everyone!

Yes that should work. You still have to do the radio though. Its not backed up.
If you don't get an answer just add a post to move it back to the top of the list. I wouldn't recommend posting in other threads like the kernel dev thread like you did.

excellent thank you for your input. im not gonna put it off then.
Some background on my phone first. I thought that I bricked it a few weeks ago when I flashed a kernel for it that went to a fascinate. I thought that the showcase was and is a twin to it. But my phone would not boot up. Did some more research and ended up flashing CWM 3.0 and then PnP 3.0 and eb11 build and had a phone again. Well had no problems till yesterday when my phone just did a reboot by itself and then I had no service and under about phone several of the categories said unknown. I took it to cellsouth and left with a phone that would not even boot up! All I can do is boot in CWM but if I try flashing a anything it says either error with restoring boot image or something about updating sript and binary files. Can somebody help me out?
Check out this thread, second post after original op, it has files and process to odin the Showcase. This is most likely your best option. GO HERE
just found a link with the showcase stock file..im downloading now and will let you know if it works. had the same problem as you. now im using fascinate bases and cant get my 3g
Well I got it to where I can at least talk on it!... I flashed it back to a stock DL09 with odin. Which it now looks and acts just like a Verizon phone. So I can talk and text but has NO data of any kind unless I connect to wifi. I think that I need to flash a DJ20 or EB11 radio to it but not sure, Maybe somebody could lend there knowledge again. Thanks so far.
i was just like you...had to use that verizon rom. however i did find a c.south stock rom and got to normal.YES!! but still working on getting 3g back up. i think it messed up when i flashed another modem or somthing. i'll post link in a sec.

After i flashed tha rom i downloaded my phone got stuck on tha boot screen. I tried to do a restore but it says no backup "abort". I did a backup last night. So i know there is one. Do i jus need to reflash tha phone? Im confused
first of all, you're not supposed to flash anything in this forum. this forum is for p500 and p509.
second, if you cant boot past the splash screen, you're bricked. however, i think you can still boot into emergency mode. bad news is, you would only need that for kdz updater (which you can use to flash back the stock rom only if you have the kdz file, which i believe is not available for your phone)
Thanks for tha reply. My phone has been rooted and has cyanogen mod done. I can get to recovery screen so it could be easily done from what Ive read so far. I jus cant find my backup. Does anyone know where i can find tha stock firmware or rom for it?
if you go to nand restore, your backup should be there. if its not there, you either have to find a custom rom for the p506 (i dont think theres any) or you have to flash the p506 kdz file (which i tried to find for you but i cant. ill keep looking) using kdz updater

Thanks for tha help. Ive been lookin everywhere myself. Not many people messing wit these phones. But i did find sum hacks for it before i tried tha rom. Im gonna do some more experimenting when i get my phone goin again. I dont wanna have to send it to lg. I asked him. Maybe if he dont have it someone else will.
Edit: Ok i found the original rom along wit many others. Its gonna take a while to download cuz im tethering with a slow sony ericsson phone. Cant wait to get android goin again!

Its supposed to be tha stock rom. I know to verify my backups from now on. I will post tha link for tha rom when i get my thrive goin again. Ive seen other people lookin for it as well.

Update: well after several days of trying to figure out how to use fastboot to flash this rom i got tired of searching. i went and got a sdcard reader transferred the zip file to my card and flashed with cwm recovery. My thrive is working like it should now. Im gonna back up everything and start some experimenting now. Thx for the help. anyone has anything they want tested for a p506 thrive, im willing to do it. thx for the help
