I posted this in Q&A and got zero responses so please no flaming about posting this there.......someone here knows because i got the info from here long ago. What changes in builds prop are done to "trick" the market? Nexus S in somewhere....just can't recall. TIA.

I would also like to know that. I run mine at 200 DPI but and thats a little too low for the full market access.
It also pisses me off when I post a question in the proper section and no one responds.
Then bump the post in the proper section. Don't knowingly and willfully break the rules.

whole lotta derpin goin on...
First: ask an intelligible question if you want a sufficient answer. I for one have no idea wtf the OP is asking exactly since he gave virtually no details.
Second: don't ask in development when you know you shouldn't! See first response....
Third: getting "pissed off" when no one answers is extremely lame and immature. Either no one knew the answer, or no one knew wtf you were talking about and didn't feel like playing 20 questions. See first response....

I bought the app LCD Density modder pro, it comes with a modifed play store that reports your LCD Density at 240dpi to the market.
This fixes the "App not compatible errors"
I've been flashing a lot of ICS roms lately and I was sick of booting ICS, running LCD modded, installing the modded files, rebooting... etc.. etc.. so I made myself a CWM zip file that I just flash right after I flash a rom.
Even tho it's a personal file, I gave LCD Density modded all the credit. Although I know of other sources the show you how to do the mods yourself. I don't know if I'm allow to post the CWM zip file here for you guys to download, or even if you do in fact want to download it.
So, if it's ok for me to post the file, can a mod let me know? Please and thanks. I will post it in the main form for others and let you guys know where it's too.
Thanks
Maniac

Thank you for the response. I'll be sure to be more mature about my responses here. I wouldn't want anyone telling my 65 year old mother one me. I'd hate to have to explain all of that to her. I'll simply say puzzled from now on.

Sorry for not explaining it better (being the OP). It sounded very clear inside my head when typing.......and that is a problem I know!
When trying to download some apps in the Market (Crackle TV app for example) I get the error "this app is not compatible with your phone". There was a "trick" posted awhile back that by changing something in the build prop using a text editor that would make the market think I had a newer modeled phone and thus could get the apps to download.
I had run for months with the market thinking I had a Nexus I believe (again, sorry I can't remember what I had changed it to) for a long time with no issues, but these latest builds of ICS just aren't playing nice with the Play Store.
I truly thought it was a common thing people were doing with the fascinate in order to have full access to the market/play store. Thus, I just condensed my question thinking it was going to get multiple hits and a quick answer. My mistake there again.
Is anyone else unable to browse the AT&T Galaxy SIII "Android Development" forum?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1633
I understand that I wouldn't be able to post in there (fewer than 10 posts), but I'd expect to be able to have read only access like I do to other "Android Development" forums?
I'm dying to know how to root my SGH-747!
If you log out of your account you'll be able to read it. I am having the same problem haha.

Thanks for the tip, kt_coder. I can't see the forum when I'm logged in but the minute I open it in an Incognito Mode window it pops right up.
I'm not even going to ask why...
same issue here, logging out allowed me to view it
I had the same issue. I logged out and back in, and now I can see the forum every time while logged in...weird.

Still no love for me - logging out and back in yields the same results. But Incognito still works, so I guess I'll just continue to use that workaround until the problem is fixed.
Is it just not viewable for those of us with less than 10 posts?

At first that's what I assumed, but if that were the case it would make no sense to make it visible to those not logged in. I'm guessing this is just a glitch that hasn't been fixed yet.

You have to stay logged out. If you log back in the forums see how many posts you have and don't let you enter. They don't want the newbies writing in there haha.
For me I can see the dev forum on my desktop, but not from the XDA app on my phone when logged in. I can see other phone dev forums, but not the Att GS3 one.
Working for me.
Same problem here. I think I'm 1-2 posts short of 10.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's post count related probably sorta maybe.

Thanks for the insights, folks!
sorry if this in the wrong place, but i thought it would be answered better here...
so I have ROM ToolBox Pro installed, and I changed my battery icon yesterday. When I installed the new image files (all from Rom Toolbox) it asked to restart the phone, when I did the first screen that came up was a Samsung screen with a lock on it and in the unlocked position and right under samsung it said "custom"
does anyone know why the phone did this, and what is it. it has not come back on a normal reboot. I can always try and install another icon set to see.
Well at least I know I can get rid of this ugly battery icon now.
Maybe it came up because you changed the framework file (I think that's where icons are) and it thinks your running something custom? Just a noob answer.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
yup! I couldn't wait to get rid of that ugly thing (used the Android white one)
I hate when people do this "sorry if this is the wrong place" because you're obviously not. Just don't do it if you know it is wrong. Post something with vzw in the general or Q&A thread. Mod, please move this

If you searched and read through threads you would've seen that it was already mentioned with others having custom. And wether or not you stated in the op doesn't make it right. "Yes officer I was speeding but I have a bumper sticker on my car that said I know it's wrong but I speed."

I tried searching, but came up with nothing, I'll change around keywords.. Thanks for pointing out that it was already brought up tho.
Ok guys, no need to get bent out of shape. But, this is in fact the 2nd time today this same guy has posted in the wrong forum, both without searching. When you enter the forum tprouty you need to start "searching" the forum before you post or start a thread.

Don't be sorry, just don't do it. Questions do not belong in Development, they belong in Q&A.
What is also unnecessary is the name calling. Think before you post, do not post if you can't do it in a respectful manner.
I have been reading a lot post here and while I had just ordered a new tablet I decided to give rooting my Nook tablet a try. I wish I could remember everyone's name here to thank for thier post and help. But I ended up using so many different posts as I stumbled my way to success. So can I please just thank everyone who helps here and the Forum for being here? I did achieve success...which for myself was a great feeling. So I sent back the new tablet and kept the Nook.
One question when I use Goo mgr and up date to a new nightly I always have to sign back in and replace all my apps onto the Home screen . Is this normal? I have to go through all the updates of the different apps etc. Do you have to update every cm nightly or just once in awhile? Thanks again for everyone here.
I don't use Goo so I don't know about that part but you certainly do not have to update all the time! If you're happy with the way things are running, just leave it alone. Maybe read change logs to see if there's anything there that sparks your interest.

Thank you... shows what a noob I am didn't think about the change log. Also I guess I placed this in the wrong section should have used the Q&A trouble shooting one....sorry about that
With the forums changing formats for the main page I can't seem to find an easy way to do something that was very easy before. That was when being able to go to the latest post in a particular forum by just clicking the date that the last post was created (today, yesterday... etc) on the main page for the forum. Now when you click on the topic you go to the first page of the topic and have to click again to go to the last page. Anybody have any solutions for this? Its not that bad but its a little annoying.

I am hoping its a glitch in the coding. Not a new look. its horrid.
I agree, I like the old look so much better.
Yep messed my layout. +1 to hopefully a glitch

I haven't been on lately because I've been really busy. I do hope they switch back because I'll be on even less if the layout stays like this.
The other one was so much better. And it doesn't make sense that the sub-genre forums still have the old look, even though the root forum doesn't.
Found out the person in charge of those working on the changes to the forum if you would like to message him about the changes from our Forum Admin. His name is @svetius .

Haven't sent him a pm yet. Just found out this morning. Will probably send one sometime this afternoon. Figured I would post his name if anybody else wanted to send him anything about the new look as well.

Thanks for your response. Can you give us an Idea of some of the Changes that are coming up so we can get an idea of what changes to expect. Also is there any way for us to change the layout to something else for those that don't like the new look? I was also wondering why the look is changing in the first place? in my opinion there was nothing wrong with the old look.
Maybe this will be helpful to some. You can locate this at the bottom of the website. I still personally like the 2013 layout lol.

svetius,
While I agree with the issue pointed out in the OP, I do like many things about the new look. For example, the way recent thread activity is displayed under each section. It would be nice to just click and get taken to the latest unread (or just latest) post in the thread.

So your parents named you after an emoticon .

Welcome to the HAM2 forum, fellow HAMster ....
First search to make sure there's not an existing thread that your question would fit into or an answer already exists.
Next, find the relevant section, such as http://forum.xda-developers.com/ascend-mate2/general where you want to create a new thread, and use the "New Thread" button if appropriate, to start a new thread with your question.
Anyone experiencing issues with xda premium and tapatalk? Mentioned names don't appear and cannot quote others. Server related maybe, @svetius?
In one picture I highlighted one of my posts where at the beginning of the sentence I mentioned another xda member. On the apps its blank left with a comma. In the other picture is me trying to quote someone but as you see, its blank.
