I don't think you can yet. we've tried for a few builds now and can't seem to get it to fully turn off. I usually just move it to the left side.

sorry not really much I can do.. there are a lot of those same questions over on the N4 and other forums related to it.. Im sure or think there is some sort of workaround until it gets resolved.. most issues we encounter , I'm limited to but i'll try to resolve as much as I can that's more related to our phones

I was having trouble with NFC on this. It doesn't appear to activate or deactivate and the box usually just greys out. I tried an NFC fix from the CM thread and that didn't seem to do much good either...any ideas?

Alright what would be the difference between an unofficial version of this and official. I'm familiar with flashing roms from my experience with my Galaxy s2. Basically in all the roms would work well for awhile then after lets say a few months they would gradually become more and more glitchy. Im on a rooted Official JB software on my Optimus G unlocked to T-Mobile. I kept myself from flashing roms as soon as I got the phone because i felt as though stock would have the smoothest experience. So I guess my question is will flashing this AOKP prove a more stable experience than stock or will it be very glitchy. Things such as GPS,Wifi, games ETC I would like to work smooth as the stock.

I have no trouble with the things I use it for. I do not use NFC and I don't play games. I don't think NFC works, and turning off pie controls is not possible yet which is great if you use them.
Other than that, this is hands down my favorite ROM on the LGOG. All of these custom ROM's will have occasional glitches as they are always a work in progress. If you want 100% everything working, I suggest you stick to stock. However, camera, photosphere, flash, audio, Bluetooth, gps, etc...all work great. It is definitely a daily driver.

Do you recommend Banks Gapps then, instead of just plain Gapps, because of photosphere?

yeah, if you want photosphere working, you'll have to go that route

There was a photosphere fix posted in the development thread. I flashed banks and it didn't work (along with flash) until I flashed the fix.

Hey Jank, is photosphere working right out of the box for you? I had to flash a zip in dv's CM10.1 to get it going.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app

Works for me, yeah. Also, you probably need to tap the screen to auto focus. That usually guarantees my flash will work.
Edit: I linked to the BaNks gapps w/photosphere that I always use on the first page.

Do you think, am I ready for CyanogenMod 7 on my Samsung Galaxy S2? All the while waited, waited and waited for the stable version to come from atinm's thread. Finally found it, update-cm-7.1.0-GalaxyS2-signed.zip [added 2011-10-10] @ http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=galaxys2

There are still got some issues that listed by the developer:

Q: What are the known issues?
A: Issues that I can remember:

- Camera - some modes don't work
- TVout, MHL
- FMRadio
- Issues when using the 2G/3G-Switch
- Volume issues (some report too high, others too low)

DO a nandroid backup and DON'T use ROM manager when flashing CM7 for the first time. I also recommend the latest nightly over the stable version, and then you can upgrade from nightly to nightly eaily via ROM manager premium.

CyanogenMod 9
Am waiting for CyanogenMod 9 based on ice cream (android 4.0)
CyanogenMod 7 is sleek and fast. But the camera and browser app needs lots of work. I find the browser too laggy and camera quality is not the best compare to stock and also fc's at times
So for me its a Yes to CyanogenMod 7, i can live without those apps for time being as am using alternative apps for time being. But will switch to Android 4.0 when it releases and then wait for the CM devs to do their magic work on CyanogenMod 9
Better question is...where the heck did the CM7 Q&A thread go!?!? (where you could have posted your original post in the first place)

What's this then!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1176411
@OP- If you want all the Samsung stuff out of the phone then you could use it, if you want high customisation options you could use it, if you want lag less and fast device then also you could use it. But keep it in mind, it's still under development, so you should expect some glitches here and there from 7.1 RC, like I had heavy Color banding issue. Some users mention other problems like Video codecs problem, low call vol, Video recorder doesn't work etc...Now if you are ready to bear those glitches then you flash it, if not then you better wait for a much more stable version.
Go with newest nightly if you are, I flashed to stable and had 71% android OS before i hit 9% overall battery in 14hours. I ll post phone screens when i get a chance
no, it's not ready for use. getting too many anomalies still.

you are right but i just tested two themes ( uber jelly and arctic grey or something, they both work). because the resolution is HDPI, all cm10 themes should work afaik.
I installed this earlier. Looks a really nice rom with loads of features etc. One problem: the Android keyboard app was not present - the only input method was voice (I don't really fancy shouting out my passwords ). I tried restoring the keyboard from TiBu but no dice - it would just hang. Is anyone else seeing this or have I done something stoopid? Thanks in advance.

Beta 1 notes :
Root - It's disabled by default, it has to be or it's an instant fail on the CTS! (Compatibility Test Suite). Good news you can just turn it on. Either in the superuser app -> settings or in Developer options.
A few more settings have been moved around. It was decided that no "advanced" user settings should be under developer options. Some were moved previously but with the beta 1 release the following have also been changed
Ram bar is now under interface
Media scan on boot is under system advanced options
Advanced reboot menu is now called Secure reboot and is under security.
Reserved 2
Gonna try that out...
Thanks
Finally..thank you..will test and report back!!

Update
Just looked at file size. I'm guessing this is AOSP.
Has anyone found that the volume of the phone, particularly the speaker phone and music playback is a lot lower with the AOSP Roms?
Well so far I'm likeing this build but one thing I noticed was that I am not able to change lcd density in the settings
BTW Loved the builds you worked on with the Vision your part of the reason I had got this phone (that and speakers and build quality)

Its very stable. Its faster than the GE rom in my opinion. Everything seems to be working. I wish we could get better sound on the aosp roms. None of the sound mods come close to sense or GE sound. Only thing that keeps me away from aosp.

Okay had to disable and re-enable root access in developer settings to get it to work.
Yea that would be awesome to see 4.3 on the vision, to bad I put my phone in my pocket and my drivers license ripped my ribbon cable.

Well as a previous Gnex user, the stock G2 rom feels really good. I recommend reading the tips and hidden secrets thread. It feels like LG took an AOKP build and used it as reference for the stock rom.
AOKP seems to be based off 4.3.1 now but is also starting to incorporate lots of the cool tricks the G2.

Coming from a long-time AOKP user on my GNex, using it honestly felt like a step backwards from rooted stock with Xposed and other tweaks. The fact that Netflix is not working on our AOSP 4.3 roms was the death blow for me. Not sure if that will be an issue with official AOKP or not but I honestly prefer LG's ROM with tweaks as of right now.
Can someone explain to me why people like AOKP so much? I have admittedly only used it once, but I didn't find it to be that great. It was slightly buggy and I didn't notice any great benefits.
I hope they use the power widget... I don't see any aosp Rom use this for our phones and I HATE the quick tiles

That's because you didn't look through it. AOKP gives you pretty much every known tweak there is on Android. It's what CM used to be. You can create some very beautiful setups using AOKP.
Though I do agree that I am enjoying the Stock Rom after flashing a few mods. I'm not using Xposed but still got my phone to a good stop where I'm very happy with it.

Well from what I experienced on the GNex they dont release a Rom unless everything works

yeah surprisingly the stock rom on this is not bad and you can modify it which made me wonder if they used a custom as a template?
I hate to admit this as well, but I'm going to be flashing back down to a LG based 4.2.2 ROM either tonight or tomorrow and really tear into it and see what madness I can do. Question. Does anybody have an app already compiled that fully decompiles apks (smali, xml, etc?) or know one? I don't have a PC at the moment. Otherwise I'll have to head to the computer lab where I graduated college from and build a simple app myself that let's me choose an app, decompile it into a directory, then the option to recompe once done (and resign if not system app). The signing part isn't even needed as Steven's SignapkTool should still work.
Just wondering. It's possible as Matt does it in his Privacy Blocker app. If it didn't force close when I tried to run it I'd try to just piggy back off of that after locating where he stored the temp decompiled files at. But thst wouldn't touch system apks.
I can't stay on CyanogenMod as phone calls are horrible. I'm lucky to make it 3 minutes before getting disconnected. I won't comment on AOKP as It's not out on VS980 yet. We need updated files from LG.. As in an official 4.3 and 4.4 release. I remember the same problems back on the OG DROID, but I'm excited to see what they bring. And yes, they do merge code from separate sources as I saw a weather mod I made for some friends that I released on another site show up in a later release. I wasn't credited, and somebody else created a thread on it on the other site taking credit. I didn't care as thise who know knew.. They removed it a few releases later.
Edit: And when I left the GNex, the were at 4.2.x and starting over from scratch for 4.3 so shouldat least be iinteresting.

Some hints:
1. Keep in mind that this are early beta stage builds!!!!!! Means bugs can happen.
2. Be sure you are on latest CWM recovery!!!!!!
3. Not all gapps packages right now are nice working. You can try others but at least I know that the one linked here is working. If you have other gapps which are working you can link it here of course
4. Full wipe when coming from any rom (as well format system manually please)

Holy smokes Jamie, you're really putting the new PC through the ringer! I flashed your new build in the general thread before work this morning, running great too I must say but I gotta try this one. Slim is my favorite rom too elheffe.
i am getting screen on issues but may be something i changed, anyone else ?
not setting wheatly may have been cause.
nope still got wake lock.. anyone else getting it?
Just now getting it booted up. Should know soon.
Soon just got here, screen wouldn't come on. Volume keys didn't help like in 4.3, had to reboot. I haven't changed much in settings yet. But it really hasn't settled in yet, going to give it a while.

I woke the phone about 15 times without problem then read your post so tried to make it lock and it did after a couple tries requiring reboot. Was using stock settings.

It's quite literally just the black screen problem, i don't know if the restoring was even completed but there was a black screen and i couldn't turn it back on, it ended up restarting. and that happened multiple times, even after setting up the wheatley governor and other such settings.
Nice another 4.4 ROM to try out.
Still kinda waiting on the camcorder though
Not sure if that is something that is being focused on for a fix or not.
I just want to say; although we are fortunate with the ALL the devs we have here (the collective, bigfau, Anthony820, ptmr3, Liwais and others)...but we are VERY FORTUNATE to have guys like JamieD81, patch_Adams and BlownFuze bringing us the variety that they do. Thank you for all you do for the Note community.
