I can't decide which should I choose. dna or butterfly. all I need is better dev support in xda.
I visited on both dna and on butterfly forums and found that htc dna has much better dev support then butterfly.
the problem is I live in india here htc launched butterfly but badly butterfly has very less support in xda.
suppose if I managed to buy dna from USA and then ship to india later then all gsm sim cards will work or not because I read somewhere dna is carrier based by verizon.

It all depends on which features you really want. To me I really like wireless charging, that's why I choose DNA. I'm from Taiwan, it works fine with any carriers that we have here so don't worry about sim cards unless you want to have LTE working.
If you want to root your device, think twice before you get DNA cause that's the biggest problem now for those DNA with latest verizon firmware.

My wife and I are locked in to a T-Mobile family plan but she is in love with the new razr. Is it even possible to buy one online, root it, and flash a rom that would support T-Mobile? Any help would be awesome. Thanks
I believe the Razr is for use on CDMA networks such as Verizon. It will not be useable on TMobile.

Is it only CDMA, I thought it also had 2g,3g radio in it. Checking now.
Your only option would be to buy an international GSM Razr (XT910) I reckon. Maybe take a drive to Canada?

Hey all I love this phone.
Just wondering if it is possible to make it work on the USA T-Mobile network?
I have a HTC Sensation and looking to upgrade. I dont care for the pentile display in the One S, so I think this is the next best phone.
Please let me know.
Jerry
Not a chance. Sprint uses cdma tech while Tmobile is gsm.
Next best? The best!

the one x will
possibly and unlocked att version of the one-x
here
Theoretically yes because rumor has it there is also a HPSA+ radio in the LTE however it would take a wildly amount of work to get it to work for TMobile so it isn't practical. Why not get the One S?
I thought the international One X didn't work on T-Mobile's 3G and "4G" bands? You should do some Google searches to make sure you don't buy a One X that will only work on edge lol The One S might be your only choice.

Hello all, would i be able to use the international HTC One X+ on AT&T in the US with no issues?
I would assume so. I use the International One X on AT&T in the US right now and the radios on the One X+ are supposed to be the same. In fact, I'm waiting on my UK One X+ to arrive so I can drop my AT&T SIM card in it and get rocking.

I don't think it will have support for LTE though
Sent from my DROID2 using xda premium
No, it won't have LTE support but it will have HPSA+ support and it'll be carrier unlocked so it all depends on what you want out of your One X+.
Talking tap from this here brainy fone
I was just wondering, It's been released in japan as the J butterfly, at the US droid dna, hopefully Europe will be getting theirs too!
but if any of you have some rumored stuff of somewhat to share, please do!
Most appreciated.
It might be available in Europe/rest of world under the name HTC DLX (Deluxe). The DLX will have the same specs as the DNA and J Butterfly.

Someone found an ad for this phone that they say is in Chinese, so there likely will be an international version of some sort.
The international DNA has just been announced: HTC Announces Butterfly
It's just like the J Butterfly but the Butterfly is available worldwide, not just Japan.

Look at my post above yours^. The international version of the DNA/J Butterfly has just been announced. It's called the Butterfly.
With the recent announcements of the HTC Butterfly I'm a tad bit confused. I've seen a couple of people say things like it's unfortunate for the people who already bought the Droid DNA and some people were saying they were going to jump ship.
My question is....will the HTC Butterfly work for Verizon in the US? From my understanding it is GSM. Verizon is CDMA right? I also read that the Butterfly doesn't have LTE, so even if it will work on Verizon, it won't connect to LTE correct? Excuse my ignorance but I'm not really familiar with unlocking phones to run on other networks and how all that compatibility stuff works.
The Droid DNA is already unlocked out of the box ...

The DNA works on Verizon LTE and any gsm network. The butterfly will work on any gsm network but no Verizon, no LTE period.
