[Q] Folder for Temp Wallpaper - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hey you guys,
I am looking for the Folder where the current Wallpaper is saved.
I just "downloaded" a picture by setting it as my current Wallpaper. No other option were availaible. I want to save it in my gallery. Where can I find it in the filesystem.
Would be nice if someone can help me out.
Best S

Should be in the downloads section. You can find it from the apps list (app name "Downloads") or with file manager, look for the folder called Downloads.
This thread should be moved to Q/A.

Sorry that I put this to the wrong section. Thanks for moving it in advance.
The thing is that it's not like downloaded. So as an option there was only set as wallpaper. So I think it is like in the case when you set a Wallpaper in Windows out of a picture viewer. Hope you understand.
So I need to find the folder where android puts the actual wallpaper.

System/etc/customization/content/com/sonyericsson/wallpaperpicker/wallpapers look inside it..
And u need a rooted device to see that. Use Root Explorer..

It's not there either.

should be in data/data folder
but need to check Hell of a lot stuff
Sent from my S500 using xda app-developers app

Found it in: data/data/com.android.settings/files
Filename: wallpaper
It is without extension, but when I renamed it to .jpg it was the pic I was looking for.
Luckily I could use the search of the total commander. You can set a filter that you just want files changed within the last minute. So I didn't had to go through thousand files.

Hide pictures in files?

How can I put some pictures in my files but not make them show up in my gallery?
Try the free app called VAULTY in the market.

I'm not looking for a app I know there's a way to do this by changing the end extension to something else so gallery doesn't scan it
Thanks anyways
Create an empty file named ".nomedia" (without the "") in the folder you want the pics to be hidden. Done....

Ooooooh k thanks il try that and report back
Using that file will keep all "media" in the folder from showing. If you just want to keep certain pics/media from showing but want others to show rename the pics/media with a "." in front of the file name. Eg. "mypic.jpg" ---> ".mypic.jpg"
Got it worked thanks

Where to hide our private videos?

Hey guys the title says it all. Where to hide my porn in the file manager so that it is invisible in the gallery.
I put my porn in my created folder 'other' but still it is visible in my gallery lol

Remove the filename extension. Works for me
audio manager is a good app to hide any secret information....
hit the thanks button if i have helped you...
use video vault bro for videos, and photovault for images. Ask me if you want the apk.
Any folder name that begins with a ' . ' (period) wont be scanned by the gallery.

Just create a new file in dat other folder
File name ".nomedia" without quotes

Well if you really wanna hide stuff even from sdcard, use audio manager by Anuj Tenani ( The name of app is purposely named) .
It works as a audio profiler but once you long press the title of app you go into this secret world.
It encrypts data (with some simple and fast method) so even if someone gets hold of sdcard no worry. You can also uninstall the app(data remains hidden), when you reinstall you shall find everything as it is.
You have to long press the media or folder you want hide > Share > audio manager.
Good things in life are always free.
But if you just want to hide it from gallery use gallery excluder it makes the ".nomedia" files for you. (Restart gallery one or two times)

You can also zip them or add .zip extension to the master folder. Root explorer and astro play the zip directly without Unzipping.

Apending folder with .zip I think wont work, gallery will still show the content because its a folder with .zip in the name not extension.

Just tried after adding .zip to my video songs folder. Videos show in gallery but don't play. They don't play in any video player either.
Deleting the created thumbnails will also solve the problem of showing in gallery.

No mClocks are working (Found solution!)

I've created an mClock folder on my phone, dragged the files with images into it and when I click on one of the .xml files, it shows the time/date but no image/template behind it. Ive also tried adding these files to my SD card with no luck.
Not sure why the background is not showing up, anybody have any idea?
Edit: Okay I found a solution for anybody who ends up here somehow. The mClock skin needs its own folder inside of the "mClock" folder you've created on your phones storage. So on your phones storage (didnt work on my SD for some reason), create a folder called "mClock" and within that folder create another one with the name of the zip. So I downloaded a skin called "ribbons", so the folder inside your mClock folder should be called "ribbons". Then drag everything into that ribbons folder and you should be good to go!
Sorry if confusing lol
Have you looked in the Android themes section where the mclock thread is yet? There are a lot of the same question there about mclock not showing up properly. from what I would speculate is that the background image isn't in the right folder where the xml file is supposed to find it. That usually is my problem as well.

Editing: Found solution, in OP.
sadly the solution doesn't work for me :'( ...
in my case i've tried internal and external no difference. my layout is mnt/sdcard/mclock/sayit/hdpi/xmls/ and when i select my xml it will appear in preview but not when i press back. i can grab it but it is invisible and shows nothing.
Sent from my Galaxy S II Skyrocket
You also need to make sure the "mClock" folder you create on your sd is exact....(lowercase "m", capitol "C") If not the whole path will be ruined. Inside the .xml you can look at the path, just make sure you name your folder correctly!
Ye when I posted it was just mclock but tried mClock no difference...
ok on a stock rom it won't even appear in preview anymore. it will however appear on homescreen but without xml modification its just the regular font.

are you're themes in .zip format, are you unzipping and moving the folder inside your "mClock" folder on your sd? If so, you need to open up the .xml in notepad and make sure what the path is, should be (sd/mClock/nameofyourfolder) make sure everything is spelled correctly and that everything is on the same path as the .xml, otherwise it wont work.
It was downloaded as a zip yes. But as I stated in my first post it is sdcard/mClock/Sayit/hdpi/xmls/ and it is in there

It shouldn't be all that.....it should be, sdcard/mClock/"themefolder") Inside the folder of whatever theme you're using should be the .png,.ttf font file, and the .xml. all in the theme folder of you're choice.
k now it is sdcard/mClock/Sayit
With everything in there and still not working... don't think mClock is worth all this effort

I somehow lost the stock Nook "My Media" app. Can someone post up an apk so I don't have to reset in order to get it back?
Here you go...

Mind putting the APK up again? The link's dead...
I do prefer Indirect's set-up, but I can't access my screenshots through the 3D Gallery.

If you ever lose a system app again, you can do an "adb push" from your computer. Just download the firmware and unzip it and you will find the files you need. Getting the file posted can be easier but not having to wait for someone to respond can be quicker.

Related question... when I try to add an attachment to an email the "My Media" is the only option remotely close to being able to browse for a file - how do I replace it with (or simply add) a real file browser?
Also, where can I put a file so that it actually shows up in My Media???
Couldn't you just use ES Explorer or any file manager with root access and reinstall the gallery.apk located in "System\App"?
Or maybe I'm missing something.

Is that the Nook Gallery ("My Media") or the standard Android Gallery app?
I'm trying to replace the crappy and very limited Nook one...
Would I just install another gallery to replace the My Media?
EDIT: I just clicked on it and chose install, I guess it IS the "My Media". Have you used "My Media"? I want something like a regular browser that let's me attach files (when sending emails) other than just the pictures that come with the NT.... Also would like a gallery type browser in addition to the Root Browser I have installed...
With Enhanced Email, I can attach any type file from anywhere using Gallery, My Media, Quickoffice, sound recorder or any of my file managers.
help?

[Q] how to mod app icons?

Hey mates, I got a question:
How can I modify the icons of an app? I want to modify the icons only from system apps....
I already searched this forum for a thread, but didnt find one, if you know i would be happy about a link
I know that there is an app that "changes icons of apps", but it only creates custom shortcuts, I need "real" new icons...
Hope you can help me

Quick and dirty method:
Download 7zip to your computer. Take the apk you want (camera, for example) onto your computer and open (not decompress) it with 7zip. Find any instances of icon.PNG within all the folders inside the res/ folder. Check their pixel dimensions. Ensure the PNG file you want to use is the same as the original file's. Copy New file and replace the original file in 7zip. Back out of the (example:camera) app using the back button in 7zip. That should do it. If it is an app like settings.apk or any other system dependant app, you need to flash it in recovery (best to just do it this way, regardless). Search the forum for instructions on that. If it is a system app updated via the market (gmail, maps, etc) you will have to redo this every time it updates.
Better method: find a thread here on how to theme, and change the above png using their instructions.
Wow thank you very much
it is systemapps that i want to change to original, i just came to the idea that i could also flash the original apps, I am stupid -.-
but i want to make my own theme anyways so thanks again

No prob. Read all you can! There is a lot of info on theming here, and several methods and programs available to help. I've tried several tutorials and did successfully make one theme.. the learning process is a bit painful. So start small and simple. Also an easy tip to remember: if you theme an app that is a paid app from anywhere, do not share it!!
I have no paid apps only a few books, but not really need them...
so, i wont even come to the idea to edit and share one
