Hi guys, newbie here.
My SGS2 have a strange kernel

I searched the forum and got this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2179585
Like they say here, i tried to install Siyah via Odin, but when it gets to "zImagem" it stucks and don't do anything. That happened with Speedmod kernel too.
Anyone here can help me? Maybe the proper version of CF-Root to install, or a secure way to root?

There is no secure or fool proof method of rooting via Odin. Problems are bound to happen!
Install latest kies.
Use a good quality cable.
And try different USB ports.
Use different Odin versions. Run Odin as administrator too.
Disable any antivirus.
Try turning USB debugging ON.
And oh yeah,

You have much more chance of odin working without kies interfering all over the place. He did actually say to uninstall kies in a round about sort of a way, it is in his signature picture, look carefully - it says 'kill kies' lol

did you read the link to @hooper8 thread about odin?
Not sure what you think chatON has to do with usb debugging - its not an app, it is a setting in your rom ~ settings/developer settings/usb debugging (check this on)

i've have told you that i've done this before .. and i asked you if the CSC can be the problem because it doesnt match with the other (phone, pda )
and when you check usb debugging lower it says to use a debugger..
Maybe should i try another kernel that is not official?

Did you do everything in @Hopper8 s tutorial - its good that your looking eles where:good: sometimes the solution is as simple as 'switch it off and switch it back on again'
Heres what I do to get the correct drivers - install kies from samsung - go to programs and uninstall, when I get the message asking if /i want to keep the drivers I click yes, then uninstall kies - get rid of it - Kies effs up odin. Simple as.
I think you really need to do as I and others did now when we got stuck - read the reams of solutions that are already on xda ! And keep trying.
Good luck

The picture shows he is trying to use Odin to load a firmware meant for an I9100. It doesn't mean that his device is actually an I9100.
He could be trying to load it to an I9100G, or some other device.

That's my point; we don't know what he actually has. His posted pictures only show what firmware he's TRYING to load. Not what the device is that he's actually trying to load the firmware TO.
Just because he says he has an I9100, doesn't make it so.
You know how many posts I've seen of people who thought they had an I9100 and actually had an I9100G, or vice versa?
Or now many posts I've seen of people who actually have a different Galaxy SII variant altogether (such as an SGH-I777, SGH-I727, SGH-T989, or SPH-D710) who have posted in this forum (for the I9100) and even tried flashing I9100 ROMs? More than I can count.

I don't suppose you tried another USB cable? Or another USB port? Or are you plugged directly into a USB port on the computer? Sometimes flashing doesn't work well when not plugged directly into the computer. Like if you're using a hub, or a port on a keyboard or monitor or something.
i`ve checked the USB cable and it is perfctly fine and the connection is not the problem...
also i have found the device box the check its moudle and it says: gti9100 SSN: -19100GSMH

Keep trying to get into download mode. Turn phone off, hold power/home/volume down. If you still can't get into DL mode, try a jig. If you still can't get into DL mode even with a jig, service centre.

hold the button needed to go into odin mode and once the screen appears, try using odin. that happened to my phone once. i took my phone out in the middle of an odin update. the same screen appeared. i just put it back in and odin worked fine.
OP - I just realised something when I was outside having a smoke just now. The phone *is* already in download mode when you have those symbols on the screen (had a blonde moment earlier). It's just a matter of getting Odin to recognise the phone.
So....You need to try as many of the below steps as you need to in order to have Odin recognise the phone:-
*Must run Odin as administrator in Windoze.
*Ensure Kies & it's processes aren't running in Windoze task manager. Kill them if they are.
*Try different USB ports; you must be using a 'powered' or mainboard port.
*Try different USB cables (particularly the cable that came with the phone if you're not using it now)
*Try different versions of Odin (If you're using V3, use V1.3, and if that doesn't work use V1.85; search on here/Google)
*Uninstall Kies, reboot, redownload & reinstall it, reboot, try the flash again.
*Run Windoze Update.
And if all this fails, try a different PC. And if it won't work first time on another PC, go thru the above steps on that PC.
if odin doesn't recognize your device, maybe your PC doesn't have USB drivers installed.
I faced this problem when i tried to flash NeatROM but failed, and I want to get it back with the older kernel using odin, but my laptop doesn't recognize the device. I have tried different ports, but still the same.
I got the solutions by reading this thread, and finally getting directed to THIS THREAD.
- Download SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe, and install it on your PC.
- Open ODIN whatever version and plug your device (at this point odin should recognize your device)
- flash the kernel you want
I hope my post will help

Create an empty image cache.img. Usually cache doesn't stop the boot of the device so using some other phone's cache.img or make one yourself...

Your phone is not hard bricked.
Hard brick means that your motherboard is faulty.
Your phone is soft bricked. You can try to reflash, the same procedure, but when you connect the phone press the small red button for 20 secconds.
If its not working, try to reinstall the drivers.
Try and see what is going on!
I have same problem ...i buy phone with this rom: https://www.dropbox.com/sc/22sicuooteaw2vq/AAA5zTMjCDKeVEDh3lqtjyEWa

Hi. To do a good job you must tell us what firmware do you want to install: KitKat(Android 4.4.2) or JellyBean(Android 4.2.2).
After that you must know what kind of firmware Stock or Custom.
Or... do you want to start your phone again.
I need one picture of your phone box with stickers on it! There you will see when your phone is made.
This are 2 kinds of phones: made after 03.2014 or before 03.2014.
For those made after 03.2014 you must use a diferent preloader.
I think this is what happent to your phone.
Flash procedure is the same but you must change the preloader.
Here is a link with one preloader and one good firmware.
Link: https://drive.google.com/folderview...VQ3pJeG9vTlh4Y3pMUG9ES3FtX21ZdjlwVzY3VWc#list
This firmware is KitKat, based on CN firmware. It have GAPPS and is ROOTED.
Here is what i use: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p780/development/miui-lenovo-p780-t2976347
Good firmware too. It have custom recovery TWRP and GAPPS. ROOTED too. It is KITKAT.
Hope this helps you.
Good Luck.
Tnx for fast respond ...here is pic:

Baseband must be flashed from custom recovery like TWRP or CWM.
For flashng firmware check the drivers... what windows do you use ?
My display not working, so flashing through rcvy is not an option for me :/
...I use w10 on my pc, and w7 on my laptop...

Try to change your phone for at least 3 hours. Try again after.

Hello,
I'm using a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro.
I noticed that my USB was not working properly when I tried to use it with my DJI drone.
I then plugged it to my PC and nothing was happening. :crying:
I tried on 3 different PCs including an iMac, no reaction.
My girlfriend has the same phone and it works fine on the same PCs, so it's really coming from my phone.
I check in the developer options and MTP is activated.
I tried from the recovery (TWRP) and same thing, not data transfer at all.
I changed rom (from miui to lineage OS) and it didn't change anything.
For some reason, using an OTG cable with a usb stick or mouse works fine
Do you have any idea ?
could it be a hardware problem ? if so, why is OTG working ?
Thanks for your help

If OTG works fine , your phone isn't the problem at all .
Try to get a new USB Cable , the one you're using might be faulty.

I'll ask you such an idiot question , but we never now :
Did you choose the "File Transfer" Option in the "USB connected" notification you get when you plug your device ?

I have no notification when I plug the usb cable, it's charging only.
I tried to force the MTP (file transfer) in the developer options like I said in my post, but it doesn't change anything

Mmm...
Is your device recognized by ADB or Fastboot ?
It may not recognize it , but we never know, if it recognize your device, you'll be able to use the push/pull commands to transfer file with it.
That's anoying , because I never faced this issue , that was always because I didn't enable MTP.
hey...if I m not wrong it is with your drivers ..assuming u r on pc...go to local disk c: and find this file or search "wpdmtp.inf " in search panel ... if u find it proceed to next .....if u cannot then u have to run cmd with admin privileges and type there sfc/scannow wait for it to finish the system verification ....now if u found wpdmtp.inf then simply click on it and copy and paste on ur desktop and from thereon right click on it and tap install ..do it 2-3 times until u got ur device popping out on ur desktop ......
hit thanks if this worked ..
I hope it cud help u
