The only way for people to hear me is if I am on speaker or using a head set. I've tried many different roms. I believe my phone is using the top mic (noise canceling one) as opposed to the one at the bottom.
Does this sound crazy? Anyone have any idea how to fix or why this randomly happened?

Hey everyone just wanted to know if anyone else is having issues with their headphone Jack on the Vibrant? I plug in my headphones but I always have to fiddle with it to get them to work. I have tried multiple headphones to see if this was the problem yet every one I tried the same issue came up.

LMAO same thing happened to me when I first got it
My problem is a little different. I have skull candy headphones with a MIC and sometimes the music will turn on by itself and I'll have to turn it off via the button on the MIC. This happens quite often when it is loud around me or windy(while I am driving). Anyone have a clue why this happens?
ITs the head set samsung is picky

Vibrant vibrating nicely now,Kthx!
So my girl says that when she talks to me she could barely hear me. She says I sound muffled and not loud enough. Is there anything I can do with voodoo sound control app that will make me sound clearer and louder? ? Thanks guys

I'm going to post the obvious... are you covering the mic on the bottom of the phone with your finger/phone cover?
I hear if you turn the volume down sometimes its easier to hear though there has been reports of faulty mics that are covered incorrectly by the housing of the phone

I'm getting a lot of background noise no matter which station I listen to.
I tried both the HOX & the S3 & the HOX is as clear as a bell.
Is anyone else getting background with the FM Radio? Its a like a buzzing, whurring sound
Hi
I swapped my one X for the gs3.
I use to face a really annoying issue with the .fm radio on the HTC.
Often when I wanted to deactivate the radio, I didn't have anymore sound in the phone.
I had to go back to the radio app wait for the sound to come back and then deactivate it again. This way the sound was back. Did you notice such a bug ?
Therefore I have also noticed the background noise on the Samsung. I also didn't have that on the HTC.

I'm guessing not many people use the fm radioby the lack of responses.
Even if you don't use it can you have a go & let me know if you have the issues I have mentioned.
Its really poor if this is a fault with the s3
Anyone have a go or having theses issues?
Background noise is noticeable on my device. It might be caused by me not using the intended Samsungs earphones.

I am using far better quality earphones than the ones in the box & I have background hiss.
Me too: Sennheiser IE-80. The FM radio is the only app that produces that hissing noise. Just to be sure, I'll try another radio app later.

Has anyone tried a different radio app?
Is there anyway of letting samsung know about this problem?
Can the Devs do anything about it with their Roms?
Hello good people of XDA!
I'll just get straight to it, well basically due to some water damage the main mic on my s2 is screwed, it just produces weird static for the other person to hear on call. I intent to get it fixed soon but just havent found the time. I believe there are two mics on the S2, so I was wondering: is there some way I switch to that for phone calls, for the time being?
Im rooted btw
Could you share your rom details for further advise

Im not aware of any but there could be some hack to enable it as the primary microphone. Its the noise cancellation input mic. Its located at the top right side of the phone besides the audio jack. Would be hard to talk into it and hear the other person at the same time, wouldn't it?

I use, mic-less earphones (ear buds or whatever you call them ) so thats not a problem. A hack of that sort is exactly what I am looking for ^^
I know I could just get some earphones with inbuilt mic but If im going to do that, I might as well get my phone fixed instead
bump?
Anyone?
why don't you simply repair it? Or you like your phone being crippled in this way...
Im out of town and in a place where i cant find a reliable place to fix it, im going back in like 4 days. So just need a simple hack for the moment
Does anyone have a rez WITHOUT the headphone/aux jack squeal? I have it and it's extremely annoying.

I have never noticed a squeal on my rezound when using headphones.

You don't hear any popping, or a noise of any kind when you use the aux port but don't have audio playing?
Never had any squealing or popping, and I've had 4 different Rezounds.
Edit: unless you're taking about the staticy or hissing sound that you get with no sound coming out, that's been that way on every Android phone I've ever had.

Just spoke to vzw, they're sending me a replacement. On a side note, I've spoken to vzw regarding replacements a billion times (ranging from eris, to fascinate, to inc 2, eris, centro, etc.) and this was the single coolest rep I've spoken to
Get over it. Every Rezound does it.
I don't usually plug in my headphones and listen to nothing, so I've never heard the squealing or hissing of android silence.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app
I only get it when using it as an aux out. To me, it sounds like the ground floats when it's not outputting audio, so anything powered gets it while anything unpowered wouldn't be effected.

rezound replacement number 2 had this. sent it back and havent had this problem yet.
3 different Rezounds and they all have it, it's annoying when I'm listening to music at work where the volume is very low. At low volumes it does diminish the audio fidelity. I also here it if on a call using the wired headset.
