[Q] OneX+ Capacative buttons - HTC One X+

Using a bedside dock app, my capacative buttons stay lit. Is there any way to turn these off only while the bedside docking app is active? I'm rooted running ViperXL+ 1.2.6

This app will do the trick.

Tell me how it goes.

Thanks, I have that app, and it works but It is inconvenient to have to manually shut them off, and then manually turn them back on when everything else is automated when my phone docks and undocks.
Any suggestion on how to automate that app to shut them off, and then back on? I use NFC tags and could probably learn tasker if that's required.

I think your talking about a time out for the lights. As far as I know this has to do with the kernel.

Stopping screen from turning of during call..

Does anyone know how to stop the screen from turning off during a call?
Move the phone away from your head?
Otherwise, why would you need it to be one when you're talking on it?
turn on the speaker, i think that disables the sensor.
This is a huge problem with 2.1.
In Android 1.5 on the Eris, you could push the TRACKBALL during a call to wake up the screen.
In 2.1, you only have two options. Pull the phone away from your head (often works, but not always, especially if you're trying to get through a phone tree, and often going back to the screen) or push the 'End' button.
If your phone's screen has been off LONG enough, the 'end' button will wake it up.
If it hasn't, the 'end' button will both wake up the screen AND END THE CALL!
It's a huge risk, and unnecessary. THE MINUTE the OTA comes out, I'm calling HTC about it, and asking them.
Oh, and for what it's worth, Screebl Lite takes care of this.
Just set up Screebl, mine is like 20-90 degrees for both portrait and landscape, and for the in-call activity, I have it not be active when up to my ear.
Screebl works GREAT to keep the screen on properly during a call.
Still calling HTC about it. That functionality should be built in better, or at least give me a way to wake up the screen when it gets stuck.
That is exactly my problem. When i go to wake it up to navigate the through menu options it hangs up alot. Very irritating! I will try Screebl.
Thanks!
you can also press any of the two volume buttons and that will wake it up without any bad effect except for a volume change.
Good tip about the volume buttons, I wasn't aware of that trick.
thanks
sometimes my phone won't wake up when I pull it away from my ear, but I usually just move my hand over the prox sensor and then back and it generally wakes up.
Keep Screen
This is a good thread. I had this problem too. After reading your posts I used the copy of KeepScreen that I already had and it worked also! May be my imagination but proximity sensor seems more responsive too.

How Turn off Capacitive lights (non-rooted)

Its there a way to turn off the capacitive lights without root. I find them annoying since at night they don't always turn off
I knw once rooted there apps one can use but i do not what to root as that will void my warranty
I would be interested to know of any other possible solutions for non-rooted phones
PS: already tried a few apps in the play store but either they don't work or they require root
Hy
Sorry without root there is no way to turn it the lights.
Cheers
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda app-developers app
Very simple comes standard but not too many know about it. Say you're watching a movie or playing a game in a dark room and don't want the annoying button lights to stay on while the screen is on. Simply hold down the power button until the button lights start blinking, then let go. Now they are turned off. Once you turn the screen off by pressing power button (standby) and pressing the power button again to turn screen on, of course the button lights will be on again and will have to repeat the process.

Power options - can't figure out

I own a Samsung Galaxy 2 7" tablet, from Verizon. I have installed in my truck.
I'm running into problems with tablet not turning off the screen when the power is off.
Basically I want the screen to turn on when the power is turned on - I turn on my truck, and the screen to go out when I turn off my truck.
I can't seem to find any option within the Settings, is there an app that will do this? Anyone knows?
Thank you!
No one can help?
Tried a bunch of programs, nothing seems to do the trick.

[Q] DNA non root control captive button leds?

Is there any way to control the captive button LED's, so they can be turned off?
For example, I've modified a microB with 47k ohm resistor between pin 4 and 5 to trigger "Dock Mode". It works and I can start up a night time clock app. (Slightly annoying that having TASKER loaded causes the ringtone to alert, don't know why?)
BUT the stupid captive button lights stay on all night!
"HTC, please think about dorks like me that use my phone as a night stand clock and alarm!"
I don't think it's possible without root. I've tried several apps that have worked on past HTC devices with no success.

How to turn softkey-backlight on/off without rebooting?

Hello
Actually I'm searching for an idea how to turn on and off my button backlights on my Samsung Galaxy ace2.
I would like to have an script, which, when it was run with tasker, turns of the backlight immediately.
It would be nice, to use the BLN feature of my Kernel and still being able to turn off the normal backlight when using the phone actively. Each time I will turn on the screen then, tasker should run the script to turn off the backlight.
Thank you for your help )
