[Q] Unfortunately Messaging has stopped on S3

Hi I am facing a strange problem. Got my S3 in India with LE8 firmware. All perfect, than I decided to install OMEGA V3, I could not make S Memo work on Omega Rom. On the same forum I was informed that since it was Deodexed rom and S Memo could not work on deodexed rom. S Memo was being used extensivelyused by me, I decided to install the stock rom XXALE8 and even tried XXALEF but get a message "Unfortunately Messaging has stopped". Only option is to install a third party app.
But where is the problem I am not able to sort it out. Can it be sorted out. Will I ever be able to install stock rom having stock messaging application. Any solution please.

You need to purge your internal memory cache and your emmc cache. It still thinks you are running a detoxed Rom

I had the same issue and it is related somehow to the CSC not being detected/installed correctly after flashing a new ROM.
I have spent hours and after flashing the latest UK generic ROM from the stock O2 one I had the same messages issues and Kies would connect.
After pressing x#1234# I saw the CSC was unknown and so I flashed back the O2 CSC and everthing started to work correctly. Then I have reflashed the latest UK unbranded ROM and after pressing pressing x#1234# the CSC showed correctly.
DO NOT WIPE RIPARTITION/ DELETE ALL DATA otherwise it will somehow cause the phone to set the CSC as unknown and then the messages error will come back.
After reistalling Kies for a few times it fininally decided to work, or may be it like the CSC?? Kies however does not let me upgrade firmware for some reason but at least I can sync my contacts
---------- Post added at 03:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:40 PM ----------
I have changed the CSC to the correct UK Generic BTU (UK):
1.Just type *#272*Device IMEI# at Phone dial pad.
2.Select the CSC that you want.
3.Click Install.
4.Phone will be rebooted by itself.
5.That’s all.
Afterword I have run a software update from the phone and upgraded to the latest firmware, kies confirmed it too
try this

Go back to stock, see if it still happens while you are there. If so, return it and ask for a new one. If it doesn't, flash CM again and read the CM thread; you just might find a fix for that issue.

What ROM do you use?
Settings->about phone->build number should give you the ROM name and the firmware it's based on.

Just click restore. You don't have to delete anything first because it will be deleted/replaced by the restored rom

deleted operating system, Galaxy S3.

so, I was trying to update the OS on my Galaxy S3, it was rooted, so I couldnt just update, I had the stock rom on, and wanted to go back and remove the root, but im an idiot, and deleted everything, lost the backups too.
so now my phone has nothing. going into recovery goes to team win recovery project v2.3.3.1. even when its plugged into my computer, it wont allow me to access the sd card.
ANYONE, have any ideas on how I can get the stock rom onto it?

The thing is that you need to re-flash Sammy Stock 4.1.2 ROM thru Odin and when the phone boots up, you can go into recovery and factory reset your phone to stock settings and UI. Simple as that!
Don't forget to wipe cache also so nothing weird happens with your S3!

Need Help

[Q] Fully restore a rooted S3

I know the answer is here somewhere but I really need someone to guide me...
I bought a Galaxy S3 yesterday and it´s not my first. It came with WanamLite. I know that WanamLite is a good ROM but the phone was laggy as syrup... Last night I flashed the latest leaked 4.2.2 Samsung firmware but I really feel it´s still laggy... as soon as I do two different things in ot it lags like he**.
Now I wanna try to restore EVERYTHING to it´s factory state... kernel, firmware... EVERYTHING! I want to be able to update this phone the usual way... either KIES or OTA. As of now I just get a message that the firmware has been changed and that the phone is not supported.
So... can someone please give me directions to fully restore the phone to it´s original state?
Thanx guys!
first go to recovery and do a wipe data/factory reset and cache and on advanced wipe dalvik cache then go to mounts and storage and format everything there
then go to download mode and flash a stock Rom
So if I do that the custom recovery, root and Everything else will be as "out of the box"?
Isnt it best to use ODIN to flash Stock ROM?
Usually Stock Rom has stock recovery in it.
So if u flash with a stock rom
Then everything will be back to normal.
It is optional to use Triangle Away.
Use it only if u need to rest ur binary count

yes everything will be deleted and back to stock but your binary counter will not be back to 0 for that you will need triangle away for waranty purposes which is useless since you bought your phone second hand
yes odin is the best choice but you need to go to download mode so odin can idintify your phone you can't flash a Rom on home screen LOL
Run triangle away
Flash your stock Rom
Factory reset

Think its the easiest and best way to get back to stock..
-) Check out the latest Firmware for your region on sammobile.com,
-) backup your data / SMS etc if you would,
-) reset the counter with triangle away,
-) flash the downloaded Firmware with Odin and last do a factory reset
Yeah. Just check the flash counter in download mode first. Bootloaders since 4.1.1 have been increasing back to 1 after reboot so you need to be on a stock recovery and kernel to reset without going back to 1 .
Or you have to prevent triangle away from rebooting after the reset. Pull the battery and go straight to download mode

Everything Went fine... counter restored, and Stock flashed.
First I was worried that the phone had gotten the "Sudden Death" due to the constant freezing... AND it has the stupid chip that causes the darn thing... but after a reset of the phone it works just fine!
Thanx alot guys! I´ll hit the "Thank You"-button!
