I'm using the above rom on my galaxy (4.2.2 android version)
kernel version: 3.0.64-Trinity_Carbon-g361d614
experiencing the following problems:
-phone gets confused between headphones/no headphones (no sound at all, no sound via music player)
-music files multiply themselves numerous times (end up with 2-3 copies of each song out of which one works) - mess!
-same happens to album artwork, also it doesn't matter whether it's SD card of phones memory
-cannot listen to music and use the camera at the same time - either doesn't start at all or freezes while taking a photo
-camera glitches (without music on): freezes after taking a shot (saves the photo but have to restart camera to take another one)
has anyone got solutions to this problem? Am I behind with the rom/kernel updates??
:[
(p.s. it's my first time in the world of rooting and i'm enjoying the experience time has come to ask for help as after all im just a girl HA. carbon is the best out of the few roms I flashed and I would like to stick to it if those problems can be solved. appreciate all the help x)

Hi,
Last night I finally got the upgrade for ICS (sim-unlocked)
This morning I played some music and found UberMusic was ok except the artist pics on the Now Playing screen were wrong. I re-installed the app, and this fixed that problem, but now none of the home screen widgets work properly. The buttons will highlight when touched, but don't actually operate.
(Full screen operation does work properly though)
I've tried another re-install but it's not helped. I've tried using different launchers, including the developer's own LauncherPro, but they all have the same problem.
Has anyone else found the same problem, and found a fix?
I understand the developer (Federico Carnales) doesn't support his apps once they've been released, which is a pretty *****y way to go, but I have to say I haven't found anything better in look-and-feel (InstaMusic has horrid scrolling, PowerAmp not as clean and elegant)
Any suggestions of good alternative players, preferably with a similar Metro style and nice selection of different sized widgets would be welcome!
(Edit: As my post has been moved to the Q & A thread, I should add I've got a Samsung Galaxy S2, connected to O2 but unbranded)
Edit2: Well, blow me down with a spoon, it's only working again! I don't know whether it's the action of trying different music players, or switching temporarily back to TouchWiz, but the widgets work again. Yippee
Whilst you're reading this I might as well pass on my related experience: I've had a couple of irritating problems - a lot of my cover art has disappeared, and some of my albums have been split into two parts. Well, the cover art problem is fixable with Cover Art Downloader, and using MP3TagEdit on my pc in extremis... and the splitting of the albums? That occurred because some of the tracks had an 'album artist' set whilst others didn't. So blanking all those fixed it.
I hope the ubermusic developer will update it for ICS. The Bluetooth headphone play and pause buttons doesn't work. The rewind, forward, volume buttons works. Presently I need to play and pause directly using the app, and not the BT headphone button, it is a bit annoying. But I can live with it
The ubermusic developer (the same guy who created Launcher Pro) has been quiet for quite a long time now. Doubt he is actually going to update any of his apps.
Posted from my rooted Motorola Atrix.
Every app I open it crash autoomaticilly.
I wanted to install google now for ics and I followed tutorial from one site called android.gs (install google now) and then when I changed something in internal storage in system everything what I open crashes, I can't get in system again to change values because root explorer also crashes immediately!
What I need to do?
Did you try reset to factory settings (beware that you will lose all settings if you do that!)?
It helped me once, but as I see this device is simply weird... No wonder I got it with T-Com IPTV contract almost for free. :fingers-crossed:
I'm also having troubles with my Huawei Mediapad 7 Lite (S7-931u)
This is a list of some troubles:
- Google Chrome crashes - only works on firmware SP19 default version which is 18 - no other browser except of old Chrome 18 and default browser won't work (all simply crash - some of them instanty, others after page opening)
- Music keeps freezing sooner or later, no matter what player I try - so far the longest "run" had with AMP and Terra Music Player
- Random freezing of entire device
- Won't shutdown - hangs on shutdowns (luckily it shutdown on 5+ second power-putton press)
- Takes long to connect / disconnect Wifi / 3G
- Problems with reading SD card (long time to load/unload - or not loading at all) - tried SD card on my laptop had no issue with it.
- Weather widgets (Transparent clock & weather , Android Weather & Clock Widget) having trouble with fonts - not sure if it's problem with widgets or with device - after a while they change to something like Klingon letters! (Fancy Widgets on the other hand work OK - but it takes ages to load them)
If someone has some idea what could be the reason for this quirky behaviour of device I would like to hear it.
Need to say that this device has some good sides:
The only thing that works good on this tablet is reading books (EBookDroid works great)
Screen is good (IPS), although small resolution / pixel density
Build quality is solid.
Video reproduction is good even with 720p MKV video (tried Sintel and Big Bucks Bunny) (default player has problems with Croatian subtitles, but MX Player works great)
GPS/3G support is nice touch for a device this price range
Battery 4100mAh is not so good - but if 3G/Wifi disconnected and Brightness set to lower values - you can read books a little longer
I really hope that someone at Huawei reads this... Please do something with this device - It's not terrible device, but its very annoying to restart / reboot device couple times a day.
By the way... Does someone know is there going to be some updates (like Android Jelly Bean 4.1/4.2) or at least some new patches for 4.0 ?
Thanks.
About 1 month ago I flashed Sale's NeatRom v5.42 and the Apollo Regular Kernel . It was a great rom, mostly because of its smothness and the battry drain (it drains less than the half of my stock ROM I9100LSD). One week ago I thought "Why don't try KitKat?". So I flashed the latest AOSP NeatROM and the correct Apollo Kernel. I also like this ROM, but I have some issues considering music playing with my smartphone. I've tried three apps (Google PlayMusic, RocketPlayer and finally now Apollo), but they don't solve it.
Music playing drains a lot more batttery than before.
When acitivating the screen while listening to music, sometimes the sound stutters.
Randomly the music player app seems to hang when a new song starts. Only after a reboot can listen again to music.
The first two points are only peanuts, but the last point is really annoiying.
I assume the only way is reflashing a stock based ROM, isn't it?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, the music player getting stuck is a known issue with KK roms for now, but its a random one.
U can try moving all ur music files on to ur Internal Sdcard (11.5gb one) and then try and also check the above with the stock kernel
Well, i have no external SD card (11,5 GB internal should be enough for my mp3's).
I've switch to the latest stock based NeatRom and stay there until this issue is resovled, but I miss the dashclock and DSP-Manager. Will this issue will be ever resolved? I cant't believe that bugs bugs are neglected in the develepment thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50067179&postcount=2379 ), but I'm now allowed to post there because of I've just registerd because of this issue. It would be great, if someone can make a statement that there are bugs. Either they should be fixed or the user should be informed that there are known issues with KitKat ROMs (that maybe cant't be resolved considering to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2612329). I would suggest that a moderator make a sticky. I don't want to attack the developers for their hard and volenteer work, but make suggestions.
OT question: Is my assume right that stock based ROMs are the most reliable beacause they are best optimized for the hardware?
So enough questions and reproaches. I'm proud that so many developers care about our almost three years old device.
After searching for a while it seems few people have shared my problem but none really found a solution.
I'm on a Galaxy S3 i9300 running the latest stable build of SlimKat (which is AOSP based) and it appears snapchat videos only record for a second or so before stopping. According to what I read i recognized the problem as a memory problem, snapchat has a maximum memory capacity for video and for some reason on AOSP based ROMs it reaches that maximum too early. I confirmed this because I saw that when Video Quality is set on "Low" it does record the full 10 seconds (although in messed up proportions which is why I don't want to use it) and if I put the Video Mode on regular and put my thumb on the camera it records 10 seconds of black, and if I suddenly remove the finger it ends because of the memory maximum.
How can I fix this problem? I really like vanilla android and I don't want to move to Samsung based ROMs for something like this. Please help

That's my problem too =/
Same and my front facing recording is being inverted like right is shown as left ??
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Had a dream about this... Try going to camera app and go to video setting, in the recording setting change the video to a lower one. Mine was at 1080p and when I changed it to 720p it started working amazing. Try setting it lower if that doesn't work for you. Mine was only recording for 1 second and would stop, after this I can record the full length allowed now. Let us know if this works for you

I'm looking for a solution for a video playback problem my LG-H930DS (SEA) has after the 8.0 Oreo update. When I start the phone everything is working well, but after a few minutes of normal usage the built-in videoplayer cannot play video recordings made by the phone itself. It says "Cannot play video - This file type is not supported" Then I have to restart the phone to get it working again. But it fails nearly every day. I wouldn't mind this failing because I can choose a different app to play the gallery videos, but the problem is that Snap-chat videos fail to play as well when this happens, until next restart. That's the bug I cannot have. Also when the phone gets into the state of not playing videos, the ringtones and alarm clock make no sound.
To start the problem I only have to open a few random web pages in chrome, open the gallery a few times, play some videos , and in a few minutes of this usage video playback crashes. MX player, VLC and youtube still work though.
I have done a lot of troubleshooting for this problem:
Full restore of the phone
Flashed different firmwares, H930DS20b, H930DS20d, and the european variant H93020d
Tried with no apps installed, other then preinstalled ones
Tried it in safe mode
But the problem always remains.
I always use the same google account. And after upgrading to 8.0 the problem does not seem to start until I restart the phone for the first time, after that it's constantly failing. Don't know if it starts when the memory gets close to full or not, but nothing else is failing on the phone.
I have now downgraded my phone to the Android Nougat 7.1.2 (H930DS10d) and this problem is not there, no matter how hard I try to replicate it.
I can only find one link on google where this problem is reported. (problem #6)
I have contacted LG Support, and they had never heard about this, and wanted me to send my phone in for repairs. But I'm not willing to pay for shipping from Europe to Asia, if this is just a software problem.
Is someone else getting this problem, or does know a fix or a workaround for it? Or is there a way for me to view the errors the phone is running into?
Sorry for the long post, hope someone is willing to read it and give me a little help
I finally found out what the problem is. It's actually just media files in the storage I use every day. These files only contain audio, but have the extension .ts. Video playback on the phone fails because the gallery is trying to create thumbnails of them to display. The workaround for the problem was to place a .nomedia file in the folder containing those files, to hide them from the gallery. After that the problem stopped. I've been using these files for years, and it has never been a problem until Android 8.
have you tried some other video player?
stock one is quite basic and thin.
Hi, yes I do use another players, but the gallery is failing video plaback in snapchat and stopping ringtones and alarms from working aswell, without using the stock player.
Same problem here with LG V30
I have the same problem with my phone I have the T-Mobile V30 and I have the same issue. I figured out not to take videos in 4k [email protected] works fine. But the moment I create a video at 4k it either starts playing and stops midway with sound continuing to play with frozen picture or it just says it doesn't support the video.
I've been using LG phones ever since the G2 and never had any other phone or any problems with them. This one though is getting really annoying.
I hate these Q&A format threads with a passion. I wish people would just open regular threads...

Have you tried other video players like VLC, MXPlayer?
Yes sir I did many players and VLC is always on all my devices and it also gets stuck. I'll try the .nomedia file and see how that works
And I have a problem with the smoothness of video playback in gallery, whether it's a bluray movie in mp4/mkv FHD format, or from camera in FHD or in 4k is always on Android 8.0 I have a delicate jam, how would he lose single frames every 0.7sec ~ 0 , 25sec. I came back for testing on 7.1.2 and it is perfectly smooth always, as soon as I updated to 8.0 version 20d or the latest 21h there are jam ... how b was an oreo error, quite a few friends did not catch up with this problem, I'm a perfectionist and I look at every detail whether it's a video or sound, that's why I chose the highest model of the phone.
LG releases more patches (already 4) and as soon as it appears oreo are staples. You can see that this is a pfroblem with support for video caps because MX Player also has micro jams on the hardware codec.
Interestingly, youtube is fluid.
I only hope that the Android Pie will be improved.
I'm having the same problem as well please let me know when you will find the solution to this problem of smoothness of video
At first it was running smooth AF but after some time i noticed the problem after 1 day of use.
Reseting the phone didnt work.
