WIFI powersave mode - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I would like to check if anyone here know how to toggle wifi powersave mode to off permanently? Im having trouble with my wifi after my phone awake from sleep, it is connected but doesnt transmit data. able to see outgoing packets but no incoming. Looking into it right now as some mention about powersave mode.
Problem is after a restart, the powersave mode went back to 'On' again. are there any config files to modify this permanently?

updates: problem is that currently when i enter into a peap network. wifi turns off when i lock my screen(my settings in wifi is 'always on') after that wifi is unable to connect back. I do see the outing packet symbol, but there is not incoming packets.
I have to turn off wifi powersave mode and everything is okay.
this explains my action on post #1

Wifi turns off even when set to NEVER

Under settings/wifi/advanced, I have "keep wifi on during sleep" set to always. Yet after being off for a while, wifi seems to turn off. That is, upon waking phone from sleep, I can see it reconnecting to wifi, THEN my email is downloaded (k9 set to imap push). This indicates the above setting is not being respected.
Under "settings/more/usage/mobile network" is also set to on. This would suggest that even when wifi is not available, 3g/4g would still be used. This also does not seem to be the case. When waking the phone from sleep, I can see it reconnecting to 3g, then immediately connecting to wifi.
The goal is to have data enabled, even when the phone is sleeping so email can be received. The old evo 4g had a setting to keep data on even when phone was asleep.
Suggestions?

Tasker (Need help. How to stop profile while another is active?

I am a Task noob and am experiencing issues with a few profiles.
1. Wifi turn on when I connect to a specific cell tower for home and
2. inverted for when I leave home
3. The same for my work.
The issue is when I leave home it turns the wifi off, when I get to work it turns on but Wifi is turned back off because number 2 is still enabled.

Tasker. Wifi, cell switching.

Hello everyone. I have a "text now" phone that primarily sends and receives texts and calls from WiFi. It is a Samsung galaxy victory. I have been trying to configure tasker to go into airplane mode whenever I connect to wifi. I got that to work. But now I need a way to turn off airplane mode when wifi disconnects. But when it's turning airplane and wifi both on, it disables wifi then re-enables it. So I can't do a simple, when Wi-Fi disconnects, disable airplane mode. I hope I made sense . And that this can be solved. Thanks xda.

[Q]Power management stamina mode not turning off wifi and data

Im new to the M4 from a note 3
I used to use an app called green power to turn off wifi and data when my screen was off and it would turn back on when my screen came on
This saved battery and data usage
I could see the wifi and data getting enabled when my screen would turn on
On the M4 under Power management-stamina mode it says data and wifi will be disabled when screen is off
From what I found it says
It achieves this by blocking data traffic a minute after the handset is placed on standby. Whilst doing this the phone automatically logs your IP address, meaning you are instantly connected once the phone is powered on again.
Is it normal I still see the wifi and data icons as soon as the screen is on with no delay?I figured wifi would be turned completely off as well as data when screen is on so it may take a sec r 2 fr th wifi to reconnect thus I would see nothing then H as 3G would kick in or LTE then Wifi would kick in
Wifi icon is always showing as well as data icon
Can anyone confirm what occurs with their phone with this option on? Is wifi/3G icons still on?
Just want to know if this is normal behavior or if my data is still getting used

Turn wifi on automatically

Hi all,
I have a problem
Samsung S9+ / Oreo 8
WiFi does not automatically turn on near saved networks any more.
Have tried:
-restart phone
-reset network settings
-put on airplane mode
-make hotspot
-uncheked the option, restart the phone, check the option
When i turn the WiFi manually it Auto-connects to the saved network.
Android build
R16NW.G965FXXS2BRI1
Phone does not enable the wifi automatically in places where I have the wifi network saved.
Network wifi is checked to "Turn on Wi-Fi automatically" and in Improve accuracy settings, Wi-Fi scanning and Bluetooth scanning are also turned on.
When I am at home or in a place where I use the saved wifi network, I must enable the wifi manually (toggle the wifi button on) and the phone connects to that wifi with no problem.
I aven tried to boot in safe mode and see if there it enables the wifi automatically and it did not. What i did:
-disabled manually the wi-fi
-restarted the phone into safe mode
-the wi-fi staid disabled although the option to turn on automatically wifi and wi-fi scanning were turned on. the wifi signal was full bar also.
I have noticed that when disabling the power saving feature(which was on medium with background data enabled) my wifi network was added to frequently used networks. I disabled it manually and restarted the phone. When the phone booted, the WiFi turned itself on.
Then i enabled the power saving feature also on medium with background data enabled, i turned off the WiFi manually, immediately i got a notification that my network was taken out from frequently used network. I disabled the power saving feature, restarted the phone and again the WiFi does not turn automatically on.
