If I flash a custom 4.0+ ROM for the original HTC Droid Incredible and sideload one of those modified FB Home apk's that allow installation on any Android 4.0+ device, how well do you guys think FB Home would run on the Dinc? Is the Dinc hardware enough to handle it?

Hello XDA members,
I am new to the android hype.
I have recently acquired a HTC Legend that had stock froyo update already on it.
I had some trouble getting it rooted but managed it with the downgrade.
I am running CM7 ROM on it and it runs pretty smooth.
What I was missing however was a good email widget.
No problem I figured and turned to the market.
Pure messenger widget looked like a good choice.
It seems however that pure messenger widget needs to access the android email app's database.
Following the guides a certain step involves /data/app which on my phone is hidden or not accessible.
It seems like all these widgets needs some kind of link to the email db (logically offourse).
Is this normal?
Is there no way we can use the CM7 android email app and have a good/nice widget to go along with it?
Can this have anything todo with the S-ON ?
Can't seem to find any guides to get it S-OFF due to the fact that it's on HBOOT 1.0+.
I am on:
--------
HTC Legend (CM7.0.2Legend)
Radio : 47.51.35.17_7.13.35.05
HBOOT 1.01 S-ON
Is it possible to port the standard Google apps from say, a Galaxy Nexus image?
I downloaded the system dump for the Galaxy Nexus and tried copying the Phone.apk to the /system/app dir (renaming the existing one) but nothing happens- after restart for example the Phone app (Google) does not appear in the launcher. Also found this link but they apparently dont work :-(
Personally I think samsung has regressed ICS by using their custom apps. Fair enough, some may have found they improved say Froyo or Gingerbread (not sure what it originally came with) but vanilla ICS is just so slender!
It should be able to work s I've ADB pushed that plus Contacts and other apps from AOSP builds to this KP1 build. I removed most of TouchWiz from the phone and it still "worked" (visually anyways). I can't wait to get a full AOSP build, after playing with the others i'm just drooling more and more these days!
can you share the contacts and phone app with me? im just doing the same with deleting the bloatware.
I have a OG driod with 4.04 and a N7 with 4.2. the problem is that my driod is a work phone and needs to with my Exchange server at work and most of the of the ROMS for the razr have the AOSP APPS. Is there a way i can install the email app from jellybean 4.2 email app into a ROM that i want to use on my driod.
I dont know what ROM i want to use yet because i need the Email app to work.
I downloaded GAPPS 4.2 not sure if that includes the changes i need tried it on High Octane Rom that did not work.
Hope you guys can help i have been going crazy on this. sorry if there are any typos also sinuses are killing me also
Okay, so i was browsing the google play store on my computer, when i stumbled upon the facebook home app. i wanted to see some screenshots of the app, so i clicked on it. to my surprise, under the install button, it said that one of my devices is compatible with the app.

that can’t be? I thought facebook home was only for the Samsung Galaxy S III, Samsung Galaxy Note II, HTC first, HTC One X and HTC One X+. Weird. Whenever i get ungrounded, i plan on installing my jelly bean ROMs to my mesmerize and testing to see which one facebook home works on. i have registered my phone multiple times on my google account under different roms, as you can see. there’s also Gateway NV-52, which is my laptop, that i booted android 4.2.2 on. I’ve only used about 3 jelly bean ROMs, and one 2.3.7 based ROM. i’ll get back to you after the testing. Facebook Home’s specifications also state that you must have android 4.0 and up, so i suspect the 2.3.7 ROM won’t work, so i’ll save it for last.

I tried it out a ways back when home was released. Didnt give it a long tryout but kinda was overwelming at first lol With your fb messages, chat, and your texts comming in all through facebook. I love my messaging and set up currently to leave it at this time. Which I know your able to turn off/pn and change different settings but was lagging down my phone at the time. Just didnt wanna deal with it I suppose but maybe try it out down the line again, sure much had already changed since when i tried it out. The patched/unlocked versions are suppose to work with all devices, Just requires Android ICS 4.0 or higher of course and your good to go. I used theos0o'd since I use a few of his other modded apps and know his stuff is good. Links below for anyone wanting to check it out or for future reference. :silly:

I would like to remove all sense/blinkfeed based launcher interface & applications. I would just like to run GEL Launcher. What are the apps I can remove, and safely delete?
VZW HTC One Max
Bootloader 2.49
Sense 6 Stock Rooted/Odex
Software v.3.08
Android 4.4.2
HTC One Max (S-OFF)
Dont think youll be able to completely remove many things in the roms due to sense integration would cause you more grief than anything else, will more than likely have to wait for a port, or run a cm build if there is one...
Thanks.
HTC One Max (S-OFF)
Try this program...
I've used this, it's in the HTC M8 forum, on NuSense and it works great. Removes almost all sense apps and everything works perfectly.

Edit: Actually, I'm using version 1.0 (still using it) but I don't see why the updated one wouldn't work too.
