I just unbricked my photon 4g by following threads before posted (before tried to install custom rom so it stucks on motologo after forum study recover using rds lite)
everything fine but freezes after every ten minutes i tried calling while freeze it rings in opposite but no change here in moto
After only removing battery and turn on it works normally but same repeat after ten minutes
no problem while continuous use only freeze after sleep only....
help me what would be problem...
Not sure this would ............turn off sleep/power saver and wait 20 minutes and see what happens? could be bad ROM or App your running with it.
Next, since you unbricked, you lost everything anyway. Put it back to stock?
Again, just my thought..........Good Luck.
Try factory reset and clean caches again.

So I got bootlooped yesterday, my phone started up, I saw my home screen, then it shut itself off again and restarted. This is weird because I am not messing with any Custom ROMS. I am rooted, unlocked and am using the Stock ROM which I debloated.
Because of this, I deleted cache and Dalvik cache and did a Factory Reset through Amon Ra. Google Locations and the GPS weren't working, and although it had zero VZ bloat, I decided to just restore my Nandroid backup from a week or so ago since the interface seemed a little more familiar.
Once restored, I debloated a little again and restarted the phone multiple times (to make sure I wasn't messing about with any important apps that could be causing the original issue). The phone ended up restarting fine so I thought I was good to go. Then, today, after installing all my apps, and uninstalling the the Watch widget, I came to the HTC bootscreen. However, the phone wasn't really rebooting, the bootscreen just came on and then immediately went to my homescreen. Regardless, I thought I may restart just to check it out. The first time I restarted, I cycled through the homescreens immediately after boot and the phone turned off. Then I booted it up again and although it's running, I am getting no data. The Mobile Network tab is grayed out. I don't know what to do. I really don't want to factory reset again/restore my original nandroid backup.
I tried *228 but it just says that "A Verizon Wireless Sim card has activated your service and updated your phone's roaming capabilities.
So I tried the Bootlooping and Network fix on the stickied thread (sorry just found it on the website, it wasn't on Google). Regardless, I still have a reservation. If I do indeed bootloop again, even without the battery cover on, would I need to do a factory reset? Because that's what happened last time and I really do not want to go through that experience again.
Does you phone stay booted with the battery cover off?

No, it wasn't. It froze and then restarted seemingly 5-8 seconds after arrival on the lock screen and unlocking.
Also, after restoring, the Voice Mail app icon cannot be deleted. I have tried Titanium Back up, and now even though its deleted there, the icon is still visible.
I guess I had a different issue when my phone was bootlooping I was able get it to boot with the covers off then do the network fix (it was on wcdma)

Hi there!
I have the following problem with my S3 (bualf1 austrian vodafone branding )
The screen stays on after the charger is plugged and the screen turns on after charging is complete!
I've done a factory reset and the problem has seemed to solved, but yesterday the problem has occured again!
I've really tried everything (every option, enabling / disabling everything, uninstalling apps, ...)
When shutting the phone down, the screen reacts as supposed (turns off while charging )
Any suggestion for me?

same problem as mine, occured only once. my workaround is by manually lock the phone (press power button). what kernel you use?
Are you absolutely sure this is not linked to a software you have installed?
There are certain titles that allow you to leave the screen on whilst being charged. Look carefully, it could be quite obscure.
As you said, it cleared when you did a Factory Reset but has now returned ~ thus indicating a recently installed App has resumed the screen on operation.
In reference to the phone coming on when fully charged, that is normal but the most likely reason it is not going back off again is due to whatever App setting you have that is then telling the phone once the screen is on keep it on.

Stock kernel, stock (austrian branded) firmware!
Manually locking works for me, but when den charging is finished the phone's display turns (and stays) on - that is my problem!

Thats the same thinkings i have, but i didn't managed to find out, what app this could be...
the strange thing is, it works as intended when no power source is plugged (screen turns off after 30 seconds), it just doesn't turn off while charging
no idea anyone?

I'm afraid without knowing which Apps you have installed it would be difficult to find the culprit.
If it were me I would do the following:-
1. Factory Reset again only this time do it from Recovery ~ [The recovery mode in Samsung Galaxy S III can be entered by pressing the Volume Up Key, Center button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button]
2. From the options provided select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system. You now have a completely cleared system so the next stage is important.....
3. Just install the settings, nothing more and certainly don't let Google Play reinstall your Apps.
4. Connect your power cable and see if once the S3 is charged the screen comes ON to notify you it is charged BUT THE SCREEN THEN TURNS OFF after a brief period. If it does then you at least will know under the basic setup your phone is fine. Now another slow but probably most important bit........
5. Start installing your Apps (say ten at a time) and then reboot your phone when all ten are installed and again start charging the phone.
At this stage we want to see what happens after charging is complete. If all is fine you then know what Apps are installed don't effect the screen ON problem, so continue installing another ten Apps and again reboot the phone and apply the charger to see if once charged the screen turns ON then OFF.
Continue repeating this procedure until you notice after a charge the screen this time does not turn OFF.
6. Right..... you now know the problem is being caused by one of the last ten Apps you installed. So, uninstall each App in turn (making sure you reboot each and every time you uninstall) and again recharge. This should eventually lead to one individual App that has caused the problem (the remaining Apps you uninstalled from the last ten can now be re-installed).
7. Investigate that App thoroughly to see if it alters anything on your phone that is causing the problem. Also name the App so we can look at it too.
It's a slow process granted but it's the only way you are going to find out what is causing the issue.
Basically, if it's happening from a fresh Factory Reset (via Recovery using the methods I mentioned above) then it's an issue directly with the phone.
If all is well then it's an issue with an individual App.
Good Hunting......
Same thing happened to me today and i never noticed it happen before..
Went to plug the phone in and the screen was on so i figured "Oh it will turn off after 15 seconds like usual" came back 5 minutes later still on.... uhh okay, so i hit the power button the screen went off.. I went to the restroom came back.. SCREEN BACK ON AGAIN? hmmm dubya tee eff? Turned it off again with the power button.. This time it stayed off..
Stock firmware latest upgraded 2 days after the 4th of the july.
Which firmware do you have?

Well, that's what i've done:
1.) factory reset
2.) reinstall all settings and mailaccounts
3.) reboot and see if it still works
4.) install and configure 5 apps
5.) reboot and see if it still works
6.) repeat steps 4. und 5. as long as all apps are reinstalled and reconfigured
and so, finally the guilty app was found!
EXTENDED CONTROLS causes the problem, that the screen stays on when a charger is plugged!
Tested it on all 4 own mobiles, all of them are working as normal again!!!
THANKS BEARD!!!
I've been using a Samsung Galaxy SIII for almost a month now and it has been working perfectly fine for me most of the time but it kinda has a sickness, like everyday it has to crash once then everything goes fine again from there.
It just pisses me off why it has to crash every single day. Like I'm just doing the normal things I do then it suddenly freezes for around 10-15 seconds then it's like the system crashes then it will automatically reboot with a black screen then it will turn on again.
Help please! Thanks in advance!
Factory reset your device and flash stock rom with odin. But if you don't want to wipe your device before wiping try to use a different kernel and a different rom.

If your phone is under warranty, i don't advise you to do wipe, uploading kernel or something... If your phone is stock, send it back to the warranty service and let them scan your device. If your device is under warranty but rooted, unroot it and send it back to the service.
If it is not under warranty, upload a more stable kernel or flash a stock firmware, after doing a full wipe, factory reset, etc.
Last night I decided to LGNPST back to stock. Everything seemed to go fine. The phone booted up but all of my apps and data were still there. I tried to go to settings, general, and factory reset but for some reason it would not reset. I then turned the phone off, held volume down and power, it booted into the hard reset screen and I pressed power to reset. My phone has been stuck on the green android loading screen all night. I did try to LGNPST again but it boots up to the green android again. I tried to power down and restart, it boots up to the green android. I have no idea what to try now. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Think I remember someone saying this happened to them and they let it sit for 20 minutes on the green android then held power in until the phone shut off then did another hard reset and it fixed it.
Not sure if it was the same problem you have.
I tried the hard reset a couple of times, but I don't remember if it was after 20 minutes though. I'll try again tonight.

Go to the irc channel linked in the freegee post and ask in there.
Oh wow i just realized i did see this thread and responded to it and then couldnt find it when it happened to me.
I advise no one does this
LGNPST - reboot - settings backup & reset (reset then fails) - reboot to stock recovery - factory reset = equals stuck on green android forever = brick
Your phone will show in adb devices but thats about it.
Hi there,
I've been having random reboots on my device every few days of use. No specific app causes it and I havn't been able to identify a single cause. After the first reboot the device works but after the second it just stays at the google logo just before boot animation.
I've tried wipe data and cache followed by factory reset 2 times already and as soon as I get comfortable it happens again.
Unfortunately I am away from the US and HTC doesn't sell in my country, so I am stuck with it. I am downloading the factory image 5.0.1 from Google and I hope it will work. I am on stock recovery and locked bootloader.
I am all up for any sugestion that doesn't involve using my tablet as a kitchen cutting board.
I do have the same issue , mine keep rebooting randomly many times in the day after 1 week of use ...
However I did find out it was the music app from google who were causing it.
A factory reset and not using Google play music since two day solves the problem more or less. I did have only one reboot since. (My nexus 9 was rebooting like every 30min)
Is there any way to troubleshoot this ?
I'm completely stock and my device has never been rooted.
Random reboots don't happen often to me but they do indeed occur.
I've even noticed them happen while the device isn't in use and after sitting idle for at least 30 min.
Well, my Nexus 9 was rebooting after I received the Update (got the device with an older Version, had to Update before Using it...) I figured that it only rebootet when I was Using play Services...
As I need the gapps I sent it back for the second time and now I'm waiting for the replacement...
