help flashmode not working after format - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello. i have here a x10i that i havent use for about an year. i have installed several roms in it so i know how to enter flashmode. i think i might have formated through xrecovery something i wanst suposed too. has i have not used this phone for an year i think i made some mistake. now the phone wont boot in flashmode. the pc doesnt recognize any device connect, tried with pc and laptop with all drivers installed, it just lights up the green light for about a minute and then it shows the SE logo and stays there.
tried safe mode and nothing, SEUS and nothing..
any tip?
thanks

i read somewhere about a tool called XIOFUB that might help but i cant find it anywhere

Do you have USB debugging enabled?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app

i dont know. i forgot to say the phone also doesnt boot normally so i cant check that...the only thing the phone does is showing SE bootscreen. it doesnt boot and also doesnt enter flashmode and also cant get into xrecovery

You can return back to stock by flashing stock ftf file. Only connect in flashmode when the flashtool prompts you to.
Sent from my X10i using xda premium... Xperia Arc's microUSB port is broken.

the problem is that exactly. the phone doesnt enter flashmode. just green light and after 1/2 minutes shows SE and get stuck

You soft bricked the rom by formatting /system
(formatting system also removes recovery because it's existing in rom & not in stock kernel)
You can fix by Seus or flashtools, just incase to hold "back" button during flash progress ...
If still not working make sure USB port is ok

restore your phone via SEUS from pc companion it will revert your kernel to stock and install the stock rom
Don't worry, I did the same thing the first time I tried to install Zombie Panic. Download the Sony Ercisson Update Service from here, insatll it on your PC and follow the instructions to install (even if it says you have the latest version). It'll take you back to Stock ROM and your phone will boot.
but.. PC Companion can find my phone but it wants to connect it in Android (and i cant go to android) so... :/

Prepare SEUS on repair mode, until message to connect phone.
Press and hold power button, then press home button (don't release power button) and wait phone off. press and hold back button then connect the usb cable.
thank you!!!!you saved my phone~! Now can install mCM7.... thank you!!!
I was tryin to install MiniCM7 and during my noobish attempt I pretty much deleted everything on my phone. Factory reset and such. And I attempted to fix by rebooting the phone but now all I get is the Sony Ericsson Logo and when I try to turn the damned thing off it turns back on. I tried SEUS but even after quickly hitting back and plugin the usb cable after Home+Back+Power no dice. Can anybody out there help this desperate noob soul :c
Cant you pull out the battery connector underneath the rubber bit next to the camera to turn it off??

[Q] Bricked mini pro, event cant flash with flashtool

I tried to flash nAa kernel(unlocked bootloader successfully before) with flashtool and flastool said it succeed. When i reboot my phone it comes up with nAa kernel screen and reboots again. It goes into an infinite loop within rebooting phone, only showing nAa kernel splash screen, nothing more and reboot. I can reach to cwm recovery. I flashed the latest MiniCM7-2.2.0 custom rom and wiped user data/cache. Same problem remained.
I decided to go back the original stock kernel and rom via flashtool. You know the rest; you select the stock files then press ok then it says "oh, ungplug usb, power off, hold back button and plug in usb again". I did this steps several times but flashtool cant recognize my phone. Not even a blink. The weird thing is, when i power off my phone and plugin usb(not doing the holding back button thing) the green light is on(it is not offline charging i know it) same as it goes into flashmode. I tried flashtool again with hope but couldnt recognized phone again. Even S1 tool cant recognize my phone. It seems completly lost!
I tried hopelessly with Pc Companion and get the same result. I found a post about "Gordons Gate Driver" but couldnt get any result with that. No tool can recognize my phone in flashmode, in normal mode(talking about the infinite rebooting state, not even a blink from flashtool).
Im out of ideas, even out of google . Is there someone to provide me with new idea? Or is there something im missing? Please help.
Thank you for reading my adventure hope someone helps.

totally dead x10a? help me plz

Hello!
I read for hours now, bot no luck
I flashed my x10a with flashtool with generic rom.
After flash, as the flashtool says, just turned off and on the phone.
But nothing happened(green led blink one and do a sort vibration, thats all..)
no logo, no sound nothing happens.
I tried to reflash again, but windows says: Cannot recognize the device
In the control panel device manager show "unknown device".
Because of this , cannot reflash with the tool, because it's waiting for the recognized device too..
when i press the back and connect the cable, the green lighting for a minute , and turns of..
Yes, i have the correct drivers(as you can see i flashed before).
Help me guyz, please, if U can
Does it go into flashmode?
Did you try flashing it regardless of unknown device in windows?

Try flashing back to stock non root. It may suck but at least you'll have a starting point. It'll read. Ust make sure you have newest flashtool. Just had the same problem with my x10. Its still havin troubles tho.

Try removing battery, insert usb cable, insert battery while holding back button. I spent 8 hours last night just trying to get back to stock. Your phone is semi bricked. Its a pain in the ass but it eventually works.

Hey go back to stock 1st then try rooting later,
1) launch pc companion
2) select support zone
3) now select phone software update
4) then click on repair phone
Now software will download the stock ROM along with stock kernel..
When the software asks you to connect in flash mode, do the following
1) turn off the phone
2) Remove battery
3) Connect the USB cable to phone as well as to the laptop
4) Place the battery back while holding down the back button (3rd button from the left)
5) Green light should glow and the stock ROM and kernel should be flashed automatically..
When it's done you should have a stock unrooted X10, if you want then flash custom Rom after rooting it, be sure to unlock the boot loader if u want to flash custom kernel... Good luck

what do you mean by flashtool cant be done?
try this:
1) open flashtool
2) press the flash button and select any stock ftf firmware
3) now after pop up comes to connect phone in flashmode---- remove battery, connect the phone via usb, and lastly pressing back button insert battery simultaneously.
Now the flashing should start hopefully.
if this doesnt work please post the error you get in flashtool
i have the same problem with my phone only mine is x10i i reflashed 2.3.3. ftf ..like 7..8 times ..and still not working..btw smth the flashtool give me some error ..and other times works and says that the phone was flashed ..but phone still only 1 virbate and 1 blink green light now i am kinda bumped because i repair it once ...and now has the same problem
hello all!
thanks for all help.
What happened:
Hopefully i found the USB port have error. If is stand in half leg, not breathing for a minute and beg for christmas the connection made successfully, and first the SEUS , after the flashtool can recognize the phone well.
Now the phone working perfectly and going to my friend's service for fix the usb port problem.

[Xperia U] boot loop/soft brick

While updating a new Xperia U to ICS the PCC had an error while flashing the new firmware. Now the screen lights up, the sony logo is shown for ~3-5 seconds and then it reboots.
After that I have been unable to get it recognized again by either PCC/SUS or flash tool.
I also checked my log files in Linux and no device appears.
I've tried 3 different machines (2x Windows 8, 1x Win 7), multiple USB ports. Also leaving the battery out for ~30 mins didn't change the behavior.
The green light for download mode comes on, but after about 5 seconds the light goes out and it goes into the boot loop again.
So by now I believe the device needs to be sent in, but maybe some one has a few more things I can try.
Try pressing the volume down plus volume up plus power button all 3 simultaneously till u feel 3 vibrations

Can you make sure the Flashtool drivers are installed ? Go to Flashtool Directory, open drivers directory and start the setup.. Make sure to select the Flashmode and Fastboot drivers are also selected. Then, reboot System and folow this order.
Startt flashtool, select f/w, wait for Flashtool to tell you to connect to device. Then, holding the Volume down button (while phone is switched off), plug the cable into phone (The usb cable must already be connected to PC before starting the Flash Procedure )
The Order is very important.. I had same issue with U (althoguh mine crashed with Flashtool and same as what you observed. When I followed this order, I was able to get it detected and flashed )
Hopefully, you wont need to return to Service Center

I tried that right now, Flashmode and Fastboot drivers are installed. Flash tool is ready, device is plugged in with volume down pressed, green light comes on. Nothing is found on the PC, after about 5 seconds the green light turns off and the phone shows the sony logo. Green light also comes on if i simply plug in the usb without volume down pressed. So I'm thinking, the download mode has some how been corrupted?

After several tries (a lot of...) I manage to enter flashmode and SUS is now reinstalling sony ROM.
Honestly I donĀ“t know how it works this time and not the others but i'm happy with it independently of what happens.

No worries. The phone turns off because it doesn't receive any signal from the PC - many people make the mistake of connecting the device in flashmode first, and then they start the flashtool etc.
Instead, load the flashtool first, go to flashmode, select a complete/full stock ftf for your phone (whichever version you want, but do double check if the ftf has kernel.sin file in it) and press the flash button. Only once you get the pop up with the animation telling you to connect the phone in flash mode, connect the phone in flashmode (volume - button pressed when connecting cable). As soon as you connect the phone, the flashtool will start its magic and your phone won't turn off.
if you can go in cwm wipe system then you will only be stuck on sony logo then use this guide http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPPWRXcsz7g.....it will work because this same happened to me and i fixed it with this method!

phone is not detected on pc and can't start phone in fast or flashboot, the LED turns green for 1 or 2 sec than turns red then the phone start (sony logo then black screen)
Then install drivers again
Install those from flashtool\drivers folder choose the ones for xperia u,p,sola,go and last 2 optins also, thats fastboot and flash drivers.
Open flashtool and try plug phone in fastboot mode, watch the led, if it start booting remove phone and watch right down on your pc screen to see if its installing. When it finish try again.
This is 99% of these problems...

yes do as said on above post. it couldnt be a hard brick. AFAIK hard bricks only occur if you flash something not meant for your device. except in Z series.
