low incall? - AT&T HTC One (M7)

All volumes are great other than incall volume. I tried xloud and it helped a tad but its still pretty low. Is this something that can be tweaked with a custom kernel? Big difference coming from my note 2.

Mines had very low sound, from the speaker on top,, it turned out ,it was not working like the lower one,, took it back, they me a new one

So the new one is much better then?

i don't think its a defective device as every htc ive ever owned had this issue. i cant take mine back anyways as i unlocked the bootloader. people in the international one forums are reporting it to, its not super low, but low enough while in a crowded room or whatever.

For people considering an amaze..

The biggest selling point so far would be the camera quality.. if the camera is important to you, the amaze is the phone for you. Besides the phone being quite snappy(I'm coming from a Samsung galaxy s), and some other notable perks.. the camera really is high quality. It focuses faster, captures much higher quality than my last 5mp phone did.. and the phone overall does everything you could expect a phone to do.
I am happy with the amaze. I'm not a heavy user, and if you are I would say buy a spare battery.. but otherwise I would say this is a great device to upgrade to. I did a fair amount of research, and I would say this phone is a big upgrade from any other phone tmobile has to offer. Buy it, there is no good reason I can find not to.
Not the best picture in the world, but here is an example of the quality you can get with the built in panoramic pictures.. normal and hdr are even better, but for the quality of panoramic pictures from stock app to be this good.. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13692699/IMAG0008.jpg

Third the camera post the camera is amazing I miss my amaze's camera I have a galaxy s 2 now and its nowhere near as good as the amaze. in low light you might as well have a VGA camera with this gs2 the amaze really performed well. The battery life was great on my part coming from the sensation it was better I think people expect too much out of large touchscreen devices when it comes to battery life.

I agree.. with juice defender I got 21 hours out of the battery yesterday. Having it only allow data every 15 minutes with screen off and 4g with screen on didn't inconvenience me at all.. today I'm going to see how long it lasts without juice defender.. and I just got my spare batteries so it doesn't really matter anymore anyways.
Overall, I'm very happy with this phone.

I heard on a video a girl saying the still pictures got better quality in the dark with the sgs ii lol, it made no sense to me but she seemed pretty convinced xD
Don't forget the audio quality, music quality to be specific! Headphones with either SRS or EQ enabled is top quality for any phone. I'm using my Nexus for now, still have my Amaze and I can say music and camera apps for the Amaze make great purchase points!

Actually, I agree. The quality of the audio is noticeably better than my old phone. Another big perk, listening to poweramp on this phone doesn't seem to kill battery like it used to on my vibrant.. very impressed.

I never saw a good description of what is different about fauxes kernel, or if the ones included with roms are stock.. I know fauxes allows oc, but I haven't been interested enough to look into it more than that. If I get better battery maybe I'll give it a go, though I'm pretty happy thus far.

Not true, copy the battery stats file before flashing, flash, put back old file.. problem solved. Any rom can include a script that does this as part of the flashing of the rom, but still easy enough to do yourself.

It also under volts AKA saves power consumption at times when phone is not being used or just tweaked to consume less even in use.

Only downside is the flash bleeds into night pictures. Have to tape it.

[Q] Loudspeaker Performance

How is the quality of the loudspeaker for calls and music as compared to HTC One X and Samsung GS 3?
Anyone?
I, like everyone else who didn't get the phone at the announcement event, haven't received the phone yet. But this is definitely a question I would like to know the answer to also. I have had the Evo 4G, Evo 3D, and now the rezound and my least favorite part about all of them has been speaker volume and quality. I know that the DNA has a dedicated amplifier for the loudspeaker and the headphone jack (can't remember the exact wattage), so I am really hoping for the best here. I want to be able to watch and hear a YouTube video when i am in an area that isn't completely silent, something that I haven't been able to do with my last 3 phones. We should be getting our phones towards the beginning of next week and if you haven't gotten an answer by then I will post my findings here
Thanks mate... Look forward... Surprisingly I am not getting an answer to this question anywhere in the forum even though many seem to have the phone already! Anyways I look forward to your feedback.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
I have read that it's clear until the volume is at its peak and it also isn't that loud. The only loudspeaker I have heard that is amazing is the iPhone 4S due to it being so loud and clear only if it ran android.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
My evo lte is not that loud. Better than my old 3d but not loud enough.

I am surprised no one having this phone is giving feedback on this issue.. All feedback on the forums seems to be obsessed with battery life only!

OK, Received my phone this morning so here is my feedback. The speaker is excellent. It is quite loud and music is clear even all the way up. It's still a phone though so I don't see myself listening to music on the speaker. It is really good on headphones! Both are definitely better than S3 but can't speak to the One x.
Feedback anyone else?

I think the speaker is good. I would rate equal or slightly better than GS3.

[Q] Call Quality Sound Issue

My girlfriend and I both have Rezounds she however likes to talk with hers between her face and shoulder while busy doing other things. When she does so she sounds very distant and barely audible. Is there anyway to anyway to get around this? She is rooted running CleanRom DE 1.4 if that helps.
I've had multiple cln rezounds and everyone of them I've had, ive gotten complaints about my voice going in and out, unfortunately i think it's just how the rezound was made.
sent from my htc rezound s-off running viperrez with snuzzo 2.2 kernel...
I think you should try updating to either OTA or global firmware and trying some different roms based on those. If it only gets halfway better that would probably still be a big difference. It won't fix a hardware issue but just software may make some difference.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
The problem is that the rezound uses two mics and a proximity sensor to tell when your face is right up against it. Too much movement of the phone and it switches between modes...causing the audio to sound super compressed for a couple seconds.
Get her a Bluetooth she can hide under her hair

I had the same problem with the mic and Bluetooth. I found turning off voice privacy worked for me.

As soon as I have the chance I am AT LEAST going to get her onto the global update. I think while I am at it I might as well s-off her phone before that maybe get her on a decent new rom.
I wonder if using one of the asop roms where you need to tweak the proximity sensor anyway if there is something in doing that which could help? *shrug*
When it comes to using a Bluetooth she has one but she never thinks about it so she rarely wears hers.

I tried the voice privacy and haven't noticed a big difference maybe a little bit but a little bit is better than nothing I suppose. Thanks for the suggestion.

S4 main complaint

The only real problem I seem to have is that my s4 has a much dimmer "flashlight" than my nexus did. Does anyone feel this way as well?
Sent from my SCH-I545 using xda app-developers app
It seems that the led is far less bright than even the galaxy s3. If you have torch you can turn on super bright and it's a ton brighter.
its still brighter than my DNA... lol

Get a flashlight. How you expect your phones camera flash to be a functional flashlight is beyond nit picking. Why am I commenting on this? Im drunk. Should have minded my own business. What do I do now? Good luck with your torch sir. This phone sucks without it.

Mine seems very bright...for a cell phone light. My phone could work as a hammering device, but it wasn't really designed to replace a hammer. If you find yourself needing a lot of bright light constantly, you might invest in a real flashlight.
HD Widgets camera light is much brighter than the stock "Assistive Light" widget.
Yup, one of the disappointments coming from galaxy s3 to s4 was the led was weaker. Also notice the audio is lower compared to my s3. Even though on paper s4 was suppose to be louder, I can tell the difference when my phone goes off.
Edit: trying out HD widgets camera was a lot better than the assistant light as mention above me.. Interesting how samsung turn down the output for the assistant light.
Lack of FM RADIO... would be perfect with it!

The lack of storage space is what bugs me. Once we get Apps to SD working, it wont be so bad. I have a 64GB SD card that has next to nothing on it while my phone is sending me constant low storage messages

I haven't had any issues with space. What could you possibly be filling up on your phone? Applications don't use that much space...
My issue is that the speaker is on the back. Had the same issue with sammy droid charge. Why can't samsung put the speakers on the front or on the bottom end? Doesn't that make more sense? Who would listen to music with their screen facing down?

Hmm, mine is pretty bright. Maybe because my older phone wasn't as bright.
I usually also listen with the screen facing up but isn't the sound better when the screen is facing down because the speakers are facing you?

Low mic volume

As the title says. Every time I talk on the phone people are telling me I sound really far away, this has happened since I've had the phone. I'm not sure if its software related as I rooted n installed a rom as soon as it was delivered. My phone is 3 months old n I've flashed ROMs quite a few times n none of them make a difference.
I'm 100% its not the mic itself as its fine in speaker mode.
Any ideas?
