waterlogged, no display, phone boots, how to take backup? - Nokia Lumia 920

Hello all,
I've been using lumia 920 for only 2 months now, and unfortunately it got drenched with water after it fell on my kitchen sink.
Same day, i could see the screen being filled with water.. but after a while screen went black.. but the phone is able to boot and the bottom 3 keys are responsive.. i have around 2 gb of data and dont know how to take backup of the same.
unfortunately, i have setup a security lock.. so when i connect the usb cable, i am able to see a empty folder getting mounted. is there a way to remote desktop and unlock the phone and get the backup ? help please..
i had taken the phone to nokia care center in mumbai, they told me they are not authorized to open the 920.. only its serviceable in delhi center. and just to open the phone, the charge is a whopping Rs14000. and to add to it, the other costs if any hardware damage has happened..
my phone is as good as dead now..
Any help is greatly appreciated.. !!

Your mistake was turning it on while still wet. Had you turned it off as soon as it got wet and dunked it rice other simialr material for a week it would have dried out and you most likely could use it for soemtime till corrosion sets in. However now the electronics are being fried with each use and there is no way to retrieve the data if the device is locked and you cannot unlock it.

Actually, yes it was my mistake for the first 2 days..
And now i am unable to turn it off.. . even when i hold the power button for 10 seconds.. and slide down.. it doesnt turn off.
i was wondering if there was any app (similar to we had remote display in windows mobile where we could access phone from desktop pc).

major mistake is not using backup at least once a week... is not hard, simple use automatic copy media content when connect phone to PC and that all... old wisdom sayings "every school cost money" (in that case data).
if phone not complete boot you cant access via File Explorer on PC

Not without it booting. You said you have a pass code installed. Unless that pass code is entered there is no way to access the phone by any means rather through display or USB and remote. The pass code is there if used to protect the data on the phone from any form of access.

I have put my phone immersed in rice and its completely dried now. the phone boots and connects to my pc.. but empty device folder.. as security lock is enabled. screen is black..
if there was a possible way to take a backup in this condition.. (i dont know know if an app like mymobiler for win mob 6.5 exists for lumia 920.. ).
i am thinking now to give this phone to nokia care center and say my phone went dead last night.. and i am getting blank screen.. i have a hope that they replace faulty h/w freee of cost..

As long as the lock is active, it locks everything. Even remote and USB access. Your data is gone.

i have remove memory card(take out) again this problem.reset factory again this problem.help me
If even after Hard Reset your device keep turning off an on; it seems to bee a hardware problem sir.
but in some times it stay on after some restarting.is there any other way?
with restart problems always check the battery pins carefully.
what do you mean check pin?please describe it for me.i think pins are correct.
have you tryed reflash rom??
maybe you've deleted some sistem file!
pins should look like THIS
but they bend easily, especially if you lift the battery out perpendicular to the side, because they catch on the slightly raised plastic edge that surrounds the connector plates on the battery.

If it is still under warranty, send it to your nearest HTC service center.
it is not warranty and it is very expensive to take it to my nearest HTC service center.because they told me how much it costs to reinstall a new Rom

Wet Phone confirmed working, but black screen.

Hello once again audience,
I have a big problem, and this is exactly what happened since 3 days ago...
At about 7 A.M. my brother was brushing his teeth and he sprayed water onto my phone by accident or something, so I thought it was just a little bit of water and just wiped in away. I did not TRY to use my phone until about 10 A.M. when I realized the screen was not working. I pulled out the battery and reinserted it to try to boot it, however I only saw the Samsung SII wordings for a split second before it blacked out.I let it run for awhile and then I realized that the touch key lights are working, and when I tap the center of the lockscreen I feel the vibration where you unlock your phone the little lock symbol. I retried this 5 times before giving up. Then about 5 hours later, I tried it again and this time it booted up nicely! Everything was tip top, except that 1 hour later it blacked out again... So when I reached home, I plugged in the charger when it is switched off and to my surprise I see the charging logo, and I tried to boot it up and it worked. It worked for 2 days. On Sunday, 2 days after the incident, first thing in the morning I wanted to check for whatsapp messages and I realised it blacked out again. This time I had ENOUGH! So I put it in some rice and checked on it every 4 hours. So now, I think it has improved. When it boot up I see the flickering of the Samsung SII wordings as before and then it boots into the ROM fine just black screen with working touch keys and everything else. But now when i turn the screen 'off' and turned it back 'on' using the power buttons I see catch a glimpse of the 4.2.2 lockscreen clock (very dark but clear) for about 1 second and it blacks out, just like when the Samsung SII logo pops up. This has been going on for about a day. What do you all suggest I do? Keep in rice? Keep it charging? Turn it off and try my luck hours later? I really need this back up as soon as possible, and thanks button would be pressed where it is due!
Thank you all for this too long message I really want it to work again!
In rice & don't touch it for a week, but given you've already used it immediately after it got wet, the damage may already be done.

Oke, lets say it's damaged, it's the screen that's damaged only right? hat would be chep to replace, yes?
The screen/digitiser are replaceable (whether you can do it or not depends on how confident/dextrous you are), Google search/eBay will give you an idea of how cheap. Or you could always ask a local mobile repair shop (then you'll obviously pay for labour, but if you're not confident enough to do it yourself...).
Edit - Mr eBay tells me I can get one for just under AUD$107
I would eat the rice, then sell the phone on ebay as "water damaged".
I have the same problem but its not water damage . The phone screen isn't turning on but the sounds and touch keys are working. What should I do? I have pictures on the phone and want to print them or save them but the screen won't turn on. Agh!

If the device powers on normally (except for the screen) and you don't have pattern unlock or other security enabled, it's a simple matter of powering the phone up and connecting to a PC via usb.....
The files should then be accessible via the windows explorer program.....

[Q] Save photos on the internal memory after water damaged phone with black screen?

I went into the pool with the phone (all hatches closed properly) but the phone was leaking water into the speaker input. The phone screen flickered and eventually became black.
I plugged it into the PC Companion and the phone then loads (red light that shines on the top edge) and the theme song plays when I start the phone, but the screen is still black. The phone will not connect to PC Companion because it is not possible to unlock the phone lock.
Now I wonder if I can somehow get hold of the images stored in the internal memory to save on my computer? I´m worried that all my photos now is gone?
Thanks in advance.

You should not have turned it on again so soon and connected it to the computer. You should try the rice method to absorb as much moisture as possible.
I know this doesn't help now, but you should consider using auto photo/video backup. I use Google's and it's been fantastic. Never have to worry about losing a photo/video and I can view them all on any phone, tablet, computer.
Try the rice method before you power up with the computer again. Also even though the screen is black try to swipe to unlock anyways.

Ok, thank you, I will try that! I guess I was too eager and therefore tested the phone too quickly. Better late than never the images now is backed up to Google.

Accessing files on a phone with a non-working screen - is the any way how?

Hello,
I own a somewhat broken Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, and I desperately need to get the files inside it.
The short story is, a month into using my phone, and the housing bent on me; and around 5 months of using this, the ribbon cable of the LCD ripped since it was exposed all the time. The phone is still working, but obviously you can't control it. Before I have it repaired, I'd like to back up my entire internal storage first. However, since the screen won't detect anything, you can't set it up.
It's non-rooted, but I don't remember whether I unlocked the bootloader. I don't really know how to get it to recovery either, because you can't manually turn it off since it can't detect touches, and you know MIUI's turn off option (press and hold power button won't do the trick). Otherwise, you'll just have to drain the battery. When you charge it again, it'll automatically turn on and do a normal boot. Btw, it's still running the vanilla 7.0 ROM it came with.
I need to have everything backed up because the store I bought it in won't honor the warranty and want to charge me around $95 for parts replacement. Nice scam. Anyway, it'll take me some time to find a repair shop that has spare parts for this (since the housing is bent beyond repair as well). 'Til then, I really gonna need to re-obtain the files stuck in my phone. Thank you very much!
So if you connect it to a PC, you can't see any files? You might have to switch from "Charging this device" to "Transfer files" type of connection, even that is impossible? You don't see anything on the screen at all?

I'm trying to recover data from my broken phone (Screen is unusable/broken and it's amoled, whole amoled panel cracked)

Is there any way out to do backup from my reallu unusable phone? the problem is, I tried to charge the phone untill it's full, usually after several minutes the battery getting warmer due to fast charging on 67w, but device temperature stays the same. I tried to turn it on to be able to access the file on my laptop using usb cable, but I can't feel the vibration. My phone usually vibrate once, a sign that it's booting up. well my phone hasn't charged since it's broken for about a week, it that causing the problem that my phone can't be charged? Anyway, the main quest for me is to back up any phone data to my laptop while the whole phone machine is shutted off
Thanks in advance
if it don't turn on or charge it is probably more broken than just the panel. Depending on phone model and encryption type your data cannot retrieved without unlocking lock screen. check VID/PID in device manager does PC see any sign of life on USB?
