Hi there,
I'm going to buy 5830i finally, after having successful lifetime with Galaxy Y. Just need bigger screen and better resolution. Whatever. Question is:
whatever stock firmware I will have on my Ace, what version it will upgraded to if I perform Kies upgrade? Will that be 2.3.6 in latest release or something like ICS or JB?

there is no ics/jb for us and there won't be in future!
The upgrades are 2.3.6 with minimal change in performance, battery etc

Don't.
You won't be able to recover from the massive regret.
Better buy Karbonn Titanium S1.
My friend has it.
It's magnificent and is cheaper than the ace-i.
With more features, an HD screen, amazing performance and JB.
Make the right choice

Would you say same thing about Galaxy Y tho? "A Massive Regret"?
galaxy y is almost same to ace 5830i in terms of chipset..
only diff is acei has 5mp camera, better colour and bigger screen...
performance wise both phone are same..
buy norman ace 5830 but don't buy 5830I
u can still buy xperia tipo with stock ics,
or best buy micromax canvas 2
if brand matters for u then tipo is the right choice..
or add 3k and buy galaxy s duos..

Why? 5830i has faster 832MHz processor, just like Galaxy Young. I don't want get worse than I have now. What is the reason to buy 5830 not 5830i?

32MHz don't care. This phone is laggy. Better buy S5830 and go to rooting. You will have a smoother phone than S5830i!

I have a S5830i and tried muuuuch ROMs and scripts but our phone is still laggy. I'm sure you will be happy with a S5830 if you don't play big games. If you think S5830 is laggy, go to rooting.

Yes my friend has a S5830. It's smooth enough. In S5830, more apps and games works as it has better GPU.

So, you can say it "smooth enough" like Galaxy Young? Well, sometimes I've noticed some lags anyway on basic stuff. I'm not going to play games thou. Just Google Maps, Gmail, browse web, run some apps like picture viewer (QuickPic) and picture editor (PicSay!), Winamp, sometimes YouTube and dedicated apps from local bank or polish auction site similar to ebay (Allegro). I use mostly one desktop. On secon one I have only widget (Slider Widget) to set brightness and volume. I got my Galaxy Y rooted, deleted or freezed some uneseful stock apps (memory freed to 122 - 130MB) and moved to SD card as many things as I could so it is not bad.

Thought you do not know what root is
Well then you should still take S5830, because it has unofficially JB 4.2.2 and you can overclock its CPU to 1200MHz.

i watch alot of youtube videos for both galaxy s2 and galaxy grand which one i should pick i love the 16 gb in s2 and gpu power and otg idea so plz help me
Listen mate, what do you want any of us to say?
It's a world of pointlessness asking for a phone comparison in a S2 forum (the wrong section by the way) because all you're going to get is biased responses.
Check the specs of both phones, check the reviews and make up you're own mind.
Asking a load of complete strangers to make purchase decisions for you is no way to go through life son.

I wouldn't buy it again since Samsung doesn't release documentation about Exynos chip and therefore custom ROMs won't run bug-free. I guess I'd try a Sony or take a look at the Fairphone at fairphone.com.
By the way, you're in the wrong section. Ask a moderator to move it to Q&A please.

Not necessarily biased as people experienced with a S2 can definitely give great comparison on how other phone's work better/worse.
Ok to the OP, first of all the display is the only relevant and major factor here, other hardware configuration are either equal or inferior compared to the S2 (The Mali Gpu is definitely more powerful),for the duo's the internal memory is at 8gb or something right(at the same price S2 will have 16).
Ok about the display the only good is that it's 5" rest about it is crap, come on comparing a tft touchscreen with an amoled plus is not even remotely fair. Amoled outshines(pun!) tft, period. For a 5" screen the resolution is same as the S2's, the ppi is so low the pixels can be seen as big ugly dots.
So in almost every regards S2 does infact outshines the grand, but if you want a bigger screen you will have to go for the grand.
This review by me is not biased, I compared every specs of the device for a friend and found it completely unimpressive.

thansk guys i respect all opinions and i will buy s2 coz the last mobile i have ws xperia miro it was bad android experience coz the internal memory and low spec

i initially thought since they have almost the same hardware it can be done, however anandtech's review suggested that there is a different WiFi Chip in one MAX compared to the One which i guess would be a deal breaker.
That said, given the major of the components are same, it should not be tough for someone to just repack/rebuild the kernel for One MAX referring to the source codes from One.
On date, i don't think there is any kernel for 4.3 since HTC has not released the kernel sources for any of the device.
Hi i know nexus one is a bit old but i Want to see Android 5 on it it has 1 ghz cpu and half a gig of ram but Galaxy s plus have this too and it has Android 5 and HTC HD 2 has even the same CPU and it has Android 5.
SO DONĀ“T LET THIS AWESOME PHONE DIE.
Pls. help me to port it
I'd love to see it happen and would help where I could but I'm kind of swamped with different projects at the moment. I'm not sure what your experience level is but you'd need a capable kernel developer to get anything working.

Why isn't some Developer or anyone with the knowhow porting the note 5 spen to note 4 5.1.1 COH4 ?
There must be some of these people using 5.1.1 ?
Also is anyone working on porting note 5 rom over ?
