Guys i have attached the kernel ftf file of neo L.
So people who are all having neo L can easily root their device.
Steps To Root
Let me clear you guys..
First goto developer setting and turn on usb debugging.
Now in setting->Xperia->connectivity Change usb mode as MSC.
Now turn off device.
Download MT11i_4.1.A.0.562_kernel.ftf from here http://www.mediafire.com/?gwe739kn5mcx56t..
Now flash ur neo L with the above kernel and power on.
You'll only get vibration but screen does'nt turns on.
But still usb debugging'll be working.
Now download DooMLoRD_v1_Xperia-2011-ICS-ROOT-emu-busybox-su frm here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1601038.
Next connect ur device and simply run runme.bat.
Now your device will be rooted.
Finally remove and reinsert your battery and flash Neo L 4.0.4 Kernel.ftf from this thread.
All Done..

Probably the same as for other Xperia 2011 devices, flash kernel from 4.0.3 then root and then flash kernel from 4.0.4 again.
For the 4.0.3 kernel you should probably use kernel from Xperia ray or neo V, not sure I do not have a neo L.

Why so difficult?
Flash kernel from 4.0.3 with wiping all and no final verification, niw you are on android 4.0.3, then root, then the OTA,, now you are on rooted 4.0.4 and then install cwm recovery and then... You're done !!

It will be the same concept to flash neo V kernel to neo L. Neo L is different device than neo V. It seems that the neo L is more similar to Xperia play than to neo. It seems that xperia play can boot neo L ICS image fine, just gamepad not working.
so what are the real steps for rooting do i need like cwm or something? Or will like a one-click root come out for the neo L? I have the neo L but will ask noob questions cuz i used to own a htc wildfire s

I tried both Neo V and Play kernels.. The screen goes black after the kernel, so I have to use doomlord's easy rooting method.
That is when the read-only file system errors comes, when I am running bootme.bat.
Any suggestions?
THANK YOU!!!

Sorry.. But how..
I think There is no 4.0.3 kernel for Neo L since the device came up with 4.0.4.
And if we use other device's 4.0.3 kernel then the screen will not work, only usb debugging works ,then how
to do OTA....?
So i uploaded this kernel only ftf for Neo L in this thread..

Hi,
I have a Neo V with the miui 2.10.26.
I have some questions:
If I intall a Kernel FXP for Neo V, I need to intall the Neo V Patch?
Can I install the Kernel for Neo and intall the Neo V Patch?
I supose that this is the correct.
And... witch ROMs do you recommend for the Neo V???
Thanks in advance!

Moved to Q&A section.
Also, different people are going to tell you to try different ROMs. Everyone has their own unique taste and needs that they like in a ROM. The best thing to do is read a few of the ROM threads, pick a couple that are interesting to YOU, and flash a couple and see which one YOU like best.
Happy flashing!

I don't really understand your first question...but if the kernel has no "V" in its name and there is a patch available for the Neo V i think it is quite obvious to install the patch...
As pointed out, your second question can not be answered so easily... i asked this question myself but the rom that suited me best, i found on my own.
If you like it simple, clean and fast, try JJ's Hybrid ROM. Pure AOSP feeling but Sony based (and you have the ROM control from AOKP with nice features).
If you like the sony xperia feeling, try JellySandwich and Ultima HD, both are really fast, just too fussy for my taste.
In any case i would recommend a sony based rom, as you have all features working (ie HDMI, 720p recording, Bravia engine and more) and i experienced that the touchscreen is really unresponsive using other firmware...
i rooted and unlocked bootloader in my sony ericsson neo v , then by going through the CWM apk installed , i cleared the
--wipe data/factory reset
--wipe cache partition
--wipe delvik cache
then i installed the ROM from the sd card(the zip file) ,, but somehow it stopped installation midway, and when i restarted using recovery mode, it just started like showing sony logo and on , it is not booting at all, i am struck, kindly help.

Btw which rom do you want gb/ics/jb. I am listing some of my personal favourites you will find them easily in the neo v development section. The steps to installation are also there in the respective roms, if you still have some problem you can first try to find the solution by reading the thread or else post your question on respective threads or pm me. Happy to help. The roms i like are
1. SJB 4.1.2
2. Mike's LegacyXperia rom CM10.1/10.2
3. DarkDefenders's rom based on LegacyXperia 4.2.2 ( Currently discontinued)
4. Ultimate HD rom (ICS)
5. Xperia Slim (GB)
These many would be enough to confuse you.

Yes install fusion 5.4 kernel it has cwm in it.
For cm10.1 use the kernel inside zip.
Look into the sticky threads you'll find how to unlock your bootloader. Do it via the official sony site. For more details on any of the roms visit respective threads.

i unlocked my bootloader and rooted, now for flashing of kernels and roms the options look like this
1. copy super jelly bean and gapps to sd card
2. flash any jb kernel for neov via fastboot.. i recommend fusion kernel 5.4 (present inside the zip file )
3.[OPTIONAL] flash stock ics .587 ftf excluding kernel and simlock.ta files..
4. boot into recovery
5.full wipes
ie :
wipe data / factory reset
wipe cache partition
wipe dalvik cache
in mounts and storage , wipe system , data and cache
6. flash Super Jelly Bean
8. only for neo (mt15i) users flash patch
7.flash gapps : use this link : Gapps For SJB
8.reboot
9.enjoy
I CANT GET THE 3RD POINT!! where can i get ics.587 ftf file??
Skip that point. Won't cause any trouble. Even if you want to, search for it in the development section. There is a thread which has all the stock firmwares. Download it from there. Turn off your phone. Move the downloaded ftf file to firmware folder in flashtool folder on your pc. Open flashtool, click on the flash/bolt icon/button. You will get two options choose flash mode. Select the ftf file and follow on screen instructions. While flashing the stock ftf uncheck the kernel and simlock files. Once the progress bar reaches 100% go ahead with other steps.
This must be looking so confusing so u can skip this.

Since I can't post yet to the developer's section, I decided to make a thread about this new ROM by saqib nazm. I'm a big fan of his custom ROMs. I just want to ask if this ROM can also be used with Xperia Neo L. It says on the OP of your thread that you need to be on stock ICS 4.1.B.0.587 or 4.1.B.1.13 Firmware and since Neo L has one of the official firmwares (which is .587), I was wondering if I can install this also on my device. I remember having problems when I tried to install one of your custom ROMs which is Revolution ICS HD even if Neo L is part of the aroma installer. If this can't be installed with Neo L, is it also possible if you can port this to Neo L or Xperia Play, since XPlay ROMs work on Neo L. Thanks

Original Xperia Z1 Honami ROM
Hello guys,
I have a quesiton.
Do you know where to find, which version of this ROM I am using in my phone ? I mean if it is professional or exlusive or extreme. I have Xperia mini pro.
And I can give you the build number if it helps : 14.1.g.1.263
One more thing.
This ROM was working really well for me. But last trhee weeks it is starting to act weird. Mainly when I am trying to call someone or somebody is calling me. The phone will reset on its own. Well this is not happening on each call. But it is annoying.
Do you think is time to re-install the ROM ? As I am using this ROM for really a long time maybe from November or October 2013.
Thank you for your help.
Have a nice day
