[Q] [Urgent] Franco kernel put me into a bootloop - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone,
I'm pretty new to flashing rom's and kernels, recently I've tried to flash franco kernel using cwm but now my phone doesn't start up, it shows the samsung logo then it keeps showing a black screen, I've tried flashing the old kernel again through odin but it hasn't worked. Can someone please help me?
Thanks

Franco Kernel is outdated and you shouldn`t use it since it doesn`t have the Sudden Death Fix included. For the beginning you can flash the Siyah Kernel which supports both the Jelly Bean Samsung ROMs and AOSP based ROMs (CM10.1).
Do not use outdated stuff, always look when something was updated the last time.

Going from Custom ROM back to Stock ROM SGP 5.0 INTL.

So there has been a lack of relevant threads that explain my topic issue for me so I have decided to make one for myself and for others in the event that this happens. So right now I am using RemICS-UX 4.0.4 but I wanted to use Eng-matts ergybit 2.3 rom, because I am traveling and I need video calling from skype, but when I tried to flash this rom with odin, instal via cwm it goes into a bootloop. I also tried to flash Ruebens Lewa os since it uses gingerbread as a base, then I tried to acquire the ROM again but I git a bootloop. Sadly I didnt back up my stock rom, so I'm trying to find away to get back to the stock rom so I can fladh eng matts rom again.
So if anyone has anyway for me to get to my stock rom please help

You need to install rj kernel if you have an intl device and entropy kernel for usa device . After you install the kernel you can flash erygit rom. Just replace the kernel

maybe you should flash the rom again with cwm and if you get a bootloop just reset factory/cache works for me : )
Go into CWM Recovery (if possible) and flash rumirand r14 kernel and flash a new ROM.
Suggestion: Next time flash a ROM via CWM Recovery, ODIN flashing is easier to brick than CWM, CWM is very safe and you can always reset the bootmode if you're stuck somewhere!
Thanks guys

[Q] Flashed Siyah Kernel on CM9 RC1

Hi, i just flashed the Siyah Kernel v1.3.7beta for SGS3 on my SGS2.
I was using the CyanogenMod 9 RC1.
Now i'm stuck at the logo screen, the one with the name of the cellphone and can't get into Recovery mode, but i can get into the Download Mode.
How can i get my phone working again?
Any help will be aprecciated.
How about flashing a kernel (which supports CM9) for the correct device?
reflash the original kernal included in the CM9 thread that should restore your phone.
I'm now downloading the Samsung Drivers to try flash the Siyah Kernel for the SGS2 through the ODIN, i was just afraid that doing this could get the situation worse.

Why did you think this would even remotely work? Would you actually try flashing a kernel meant for an SGS2 on an SGS?
Well, maybe you would...
I don't thinked that would work, but i haven't noticed it was for the SGS3 T_T
It was my fault, i need to pay more attention.
Flashed the right Siyah Kernel through the ODIN, phone working now
Thanks for all the help and sorry about my stupidity.
You know, i'm a noob (the video in the register form says that D
Thanks, cya.

Hi. I recommend that you change the title of this thread to something like "Problems with Flashing through Odin" as I thought your issue was with "Flash" (flash player by adobe) and it is a bit confusing.
As for your issue, No... That kernel should not have anything to do with this unless you are only trying to flash the STOCK ROM without the stock kernel. If this "perseus" kernel is NOT made to work with the stock ROM then this could be your issue.

Help with Reboot !!!!!!

Hi all
Tried posting before but not getting any answers
Im new to android and have been tweaking my samsung s4 for a couple of months now. I have a Samsung S4 GT I9505 with TWRP boot recovery , nova launcher prime and KitKat 4.4 Google play edition Rom. I have also flashed Faux Kernel onto my phone to prevent random restarts. The problem is I am still getting restarts (about 8 a day) the problem was a lot worse before I re-flashed it with the same kernel. I have tried flashing it again but I still get the same problem. Also some of my apps restart more often then before I had the custom ROM (GPE)
Help would be most appreciated
Thanks
Aiden

Send it back to the manufacturer. It's obviously a damaged phone if it can't last one day without a reboot.
The phone was fine before I installed the rom.

My Galaxy Note 4 (N910C) is not turning on!

Hi xda friends, I need your help.
I was rooted and running a custom marshmallow rom (resurrection remix was called) but it was full of bugs so I decided to go back to stock. I flashed a 5.1.1 firmware and it never turned on again. It is stuck on "Samsung Galaxy Note 4" message. I tried again and again, I wiped everything, I also tried this with kies "firmware upgrade and initialization" but nothing changed. Please tell me what can I do? I'm desperate!

Try posting this in the Galaxy Note 4 forums for a better answer. But I'll try to help you with my general knowledge of android. What android version is the Ressurection Remix on? Does this ROM run a custom Kernel?

Hi, it was on 6.0.1! I'm not sure about the kernel, the thread is closed and I can't see the rom's info.

A lot of the time jumping from one android version to the other can cause issues. Depending on what the rom is made to install, it could cause it to not boot. Some ROMs install kernels and some don't. Try using ODIN to flash the stock firmware and stock kernel. If there is an option to flash via recovery you can try that as well. Getting back to stock will allow you to start over again fresh. You can then re-install your ROMs. If you want to upgrade or downgrade your android version, make sure to flash the stock firmware and kernel of that android version first. I don't own a Galaxy Note 4, so I can't really give you any specific information. Searching the Galaxy Note 4 forums may give you a bit more answers.
