hey guys
i don't know if there is a way to show the full email (pics and all) on my htc one.
i had the s3 and Gnex before and on the default email app there shows the "exact" email but on the HTC ONE, sometimes there is no pictures
or no links etc..
help!
Go to email settings and change email size to maximum. The default I think is 5kb.
Hope that helps.

Also make sure that Message Format is set to HTML and not plain text.
ALSO when viewing emails with images, you have to hit the "Display Images" button located between the header and the message
How do I set to HTML?
From within the mail app:
Settings/sync,send,receive/message format

I have noticed more than ever that i am needing to respond to an email or forward only a portoin of the email content. However, I cant locate the function to copy a portion of the body of an email and paste the portion only into a new email to be sent forward. I cant locate the this option for GMail or any of the dditional accounts setup.
I this possible for my Dell Streak 5 version 2.2?
I found the only way to forward part of an email was to press the Forward button and then tap the Pencil icon at the top of the new email. This then allows you to edit the text leaving only what you want. I am using K-9 email if that makes a difference.

any suggestions on additional email account text edit procedure?

Again many thanks!
Anyone know of a way to set it up to automatically display images. As of right now, I have to click display images on each and every individual email.

After your tell it to display images, you can tell it to always display images from this sender. As of now, as far as I know, there is no way to always display pictures. This is a security thing, more than anything else.

That's only in the GMail app. The Exchange mail app does not.

I was just about to say that.
I would download Enhanced Email in the play store. I use it for work email and it works great..also bypasses the forced security of entering a pin to access your exchange email.

So it's no problem if it just shown a "?" of the image due to security, right??
I have two IMAP email accounts. One of them is working fine, but on the other one my phone does not show the body of plain text emails. Emails are received properly and all the other information downloads and displays properly (subject, sender, time, etc.) but when I go to view the body I just see a blank screen and there is no text there at all (not even white on white).
I have deleted the account and set it up again and have the same issue.

Sounds to me like it must be something on the server side. Are both accounts hosted on the same server? Do you have control over the MTAs? Can you compare the setups of the two accounts? If that doesn't help (they're the same) then are there any differences in the definitions of the two accounts in your mail client?

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked with my web host and it turns out there was a SmarterMail server patch that caused the bug. It has since been patched and is working now. Thanks for the suggestions, though -- that was good advice.

Glad to hear that you're sorted - and good to hear that your host is on the ball too
My gmail accout is automatically sending an email to the same address every night around midnight. And then I get a notification saying cannot send attachment.
The email is blank and is received by the recipient.
My outbox and drafts and empty

Probably your email got hijacked. What to do:
Prevent current unauthorised sending - Login to your gmail account & change your password. Make it a secure one - with a mixed upper and lower case characters, and at least a numeral.
Prevent future intrusion - do not complacently click on any email from unknown email address. Even though the email "name" sound familiar, look at the email address. If your friend's name appear but the email address (@xxx.com) do not match a known email address, ignore it. Chances are that someone is trying to phish you into sending your email credentials.
I have 2 step verification on. Surely it cant be more secure then that?

Could be one of your apps, especially one of the 'free' ones, or one that was side-loaded, though they usually just dial home direct to deliver information to an outside party.
Try googling the email address. Sometimes someone else will be asking about the same issue after loading a particular program.
It is emailing my work email address though. Thats what I cant understand. Strange. But it didnt do it last night

I have multiple email accounts that I read on my Note2. I prefer to sort them with unread emails on the top. When using the combined view I have to manually change the sort order. It will remember that until I click a notification to read an email. When I go back to the combined view I have to reset the sort order. Is there a control file I can edit to make "sort by read/unread" my default always?
Thanks,
Dave
