So, here's my problem. My sd card reader won't read something as large as 16gigs and I've installed the stripped down winmo version chunkydroidrom so I can run android 2.2 smoothly. Everything works great, battery hasn't gotten hot yet and I'm loving it. But, I can't read the SD card with chunkydroidrom through activesync because that is stripped out of the the build, and android 2.2 doesn't allow the sd card to be read since the ROM is running from it. I run ubuntu on my laptop as well as windows. And I can't get ubuntu to read the sd card through chunkydroidROM either. It's not that big of a deal, i might go out and buy another card reader. But I would rather be able to transfer files easier. Is there a way to connect the laptop and phone wirelessly? Like ftp the stuff over or something?

Android does allow you to read the sd card via USB while running it. Did you try it, or you just assumed it didn't?
Also, try the WinMo ROM is my sig. Stripped down, but allows you to connect your phone via USB and r/w on your sd.
You have to enable it before you can use it. On most builds I've tried (non-sense), when you connect it notifies you, and asks if you want to enable. If it doesn't ask directly, it's usually available if you drop down the top toolbar.
I have tryed the steps that are posted in the Dev forums without success. I was using Win XP professional with ADB working and still does. G Tablet info : Beast 2.2.1 with CWM 3. Somthing (for BL 1.2). Apon some researching I came accross using Ubuntu to load the .tar file to the external SD card as well. None of this has worked for me. The method of using adb with windows never was able to get passed formating the external SD card to ext3, and had errors while extracting the .tar file onto the root of the micro SD card using Ubuntu. Would love to get this to work and having it dual boot through CWM. Thanks in advance.
Followed directions to disable this prior to rooting. Do I enable it once rooted? I got a pop up asking me if I wanted to when I booted up my PC with the NT already plugged in.
If I plug it in after boot up (PC), I get two new drives, one called MyNOOK and the other specifying a removable disk that reflects the lack of an SD card.
I dont quite understand your question. are you trying to get your sd card to mount and be read by your PC?
this relates to the issue I am having re-rooting. In a nutshell:
1. did a erase/deregister because I was going to sell it - buyer wants it rooted - i wanted to make sure my personal data was gone.
2. That disabled my n button and no longer have browser capabilities even in Nook mode
3. No micros sd card slot on my pc, so no way that i know of to do a magic sd reset
4. All I want is to get back to factory, so I can follow root process, but without a browser, cannot download the apps in your video to reroot
Stuck. B&N store said to do erase reregister but I don't think that brings back my browser either
So im new to this whole rooting process and I would like someone to give me the most dumbed down step by step incstructions on rooting my nook tablet running 1.4.3.
heres the equipment i have:
one hp mini 110-1000 netbook running xp
one 8gb nook tablet with 1.4.3 update
one 4 gig sd card and card adapter
on transfer cable to nook tablet
PLEASE SOME ONE HELP ME!!!

While have been making Bootable Windows USB drives for a while, I am complete beginner concerning doing this for CyanogenMod.
Am trying to find out the basics of How to Make Bootable CyanogenMod mSD Card? Also add if possible would like to do this with Windows apps I normally use.
DL CM11 zip and opened and saw boot ISO and System files...
Am wondering if need 2 partitions for Nook Tablet to boot?
Appreciate any suggestions!
Thanks
