Hello,
I posted some photos here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252112&page=5 (last post of the page) and I'm attaching some more photos here. Can someone tell me if my camera is fine or if it is broken?

Why do you ask.
If the people on stage don't have a huge spotlight on them the photo's would have turned out great but the photos look good regardless

I'm asking just to see if the camera is supposed to be working as it is. I think it is but some people out there are much more professional than I am and can tell me.

Looks good to me. It has trouble with those stage shots, but that's been my experience as well so far in similar scenarios.

Yeah pretty much - in every one the spotlight is causing the camera to way over-expose the faces.
I took a bunch more pictures outside and it doesn't seem fully focused. It was a clear and sunny day and I even took some of them from the shade. What do you think?

From the last picture, your camera appears to be making women look a bit heavy and large breasted.
I read in one if the reviews. The one camera is more like a professional camera. It does what you tell it to do. You have to set it to lighting and such. Not really an automatic point and shoot.

Have you guys seen the thread in the vibrant forum about this? Can't post a link sorry but apparently they managed to get a front facing camera installed and developed a working rom to support its use. Hopefully someone will see this and work on doing the same for the fascinate bc I'm totally willing to donate and be a guinea pig fur this one

Thats awesome, the first chance I get I'm doing this.
I'll do it when my 30 day return period is out.
I think this depends on the vibrants hardware similarity to the stock i9000 so there is a place to physically install the camera. Not so sure the fascinate even has this.

Yeah I Was Reading The Vibrant Forum, I Would Love to have a FFC on my Fascinate! Ide donate some too! Hopfully Somone will pick this Up :x *Crosses Fingers*
yea was just reading that vibrant thread, this would be great!
You would need to port the i9000 froyo rom over to this. My gf has a fascinate and I have a Vibrant so we'll see. Maybe I'll look into getting it done :X no promises

Im Not Shure but I dont think so Since i dont think the ORiginal i9000 had a notification light. Might only be possible through usb. Also Somone on the Vibrant forum said there isnt Enough Room for a FFC in the Fascinate? idk if its true but it would be nice if somone tested this and found out :X hope there is room! Ide so love a FFC.
So i opened up my Fascinate a couple days ago. There is some good news and some bad news. Good news is that the phone was relatively easy to open and can easily be done if you want to. The bad news is that there is in fact no room for a FFC as far as i can tell. I tried to take pictures of the whole process with my droid eris but the pictures looked awful. Ill try to find another camera to work with to take pics and post them. For people who want to open up their Fascinates i highly encourage. The phone is easier to open up than the i9000 IMO.
I would certainly scrape together a donation for the person who makes this happen on the fascinate
so excited ! FFC on fascinate sounds awesome =)
I do not know guys, why spend time on such nonsense?...
I propose to try different route. What if we can create some sort of optical attachment on the lens to direct image from front to camera? Something extremely simple as a couple of mirrors or prisms. I can imagine making prototype from paper in about one hour.
Is there any app able to do video chat using back camera? Would it be difficult to create one?
Patent application is pending

This is one of the better ones I've seen, not just because it's generally favorable, but because the dude seems to know what's important in a modern device and what phone freaks like us want to know about them.
Sorry if this is a repost, but the vid was only uploaded a couple of hours ago and a quick search of the forum did not turn it up.

You're right, of course. Sorry for the oversight.
Looks like a solid review..still some concern about the camera tho. It seems a mixed bag when it comes to video record. Some people say its excellent some say mushy. Same thing with call quality..anyways Friday can't get here soon enough
I've got my preorder and am pumped to get this phone! Even if the 3d isn't perfect, I really don't care. The phone looks sweet. Plus, I'm still using a Hero so I am ready to get rid of it. So slow and laggy. Can't wait! Nice review!
So, we're capped at 60fps on this? I would bet that the score would be higher if it weren't capped at 60.
Or is the benchmark itself capped (Quadrant)? I see the SGS2 also capping at 60 during the tests.
Or, is this a limit of the display itself?
One of the review screenshots clearly shows HD 1280x720 video capability.
Atleast there's 1080p playback. I'm sure there will be a fix from HTC since the hardware is capable of it. If not, the devs will do their magic

Yes but that 720 p ..our evos can do that now. albeit not very well..I don't really care as long as it does it well..1080p on a phone isn't much of a difference on a phone screen

I didn't think there was an issue with the 720p recording, it is the fact that it cannot do 1080p (1920x1080) 2D recording.

With the videos not looking as good as i had hoped for at 720....1080 isnt needed. Praying for some type of "less compression" for faster memory cards or something.
By far, THE BEST review I've seen for this phone.
This is not due to ANY kind of opinion from the reviewer, but simply due to the attention to detail given to the review. Even if the reviewer HATED this phone, it'd still be the best and most detailed I've seen yet. Looking forward to checking out this site more often.
Why is this the first and only review or place that I've seen this mentioned

Lastly, using an optional MHL adapter that’s plugged into the handset’s microUSB port, we’re able to watch 1080p videos stored on the handset directly on a high-definition television set. Not only that, but you can get a mirrored experience as well, which brings the handset’s entire platform experience onto the big screen.

what an interesting response....
I saw on ultralinx, that there were pictures of bokeh photography taken by the galaxy s II camera. Does anyone know how they did that? I have no experience in photography, but want to try it out.
Tilt shift photography could also work if anyone knows how.
i heard about this website one time....i think it was called google.com. just type in what you are looking for and like magic it will show you cool stuff....
How did you get so funny, you aren't funny at all? I obviously looked at multiple sites, but those are for dslr cameras. Tilt shift photography is also hard to recreate without actually tilting the lens, so I wanted to know their trick.

You should probably ask on a photography board. It seems people on this board know more about using Google than they know about photography.

People here can get an attitude. I wish I could help with your question but I'd also say post on a photography board or search Google a little harder.

I'm no photographer but I would experiment with macro to shoot bokeh pictures.

You did not see "bokeh" pictures come from a Galaxy S II - if you saw something claiming to have bokeh, it was Photoshopped. (Unless someone put a macro lens in front of the lens.)
"bokeh" is the quality of out-of-focus points in a photograph. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bokeh
On a mobile phone, the sensor is so small that depth of field is insanely deep - it becomes nearly impossible to have anything that is out of focus. (Nearly all of the time, blurry photos are due to camera shake, not focus problems.)

Bingo. Bokeh is achieved with specific aperture and exposure settings impossible to get with a fixed lens camera like that on a phone. And true tilt-shift photos are done with an actual tilt-shift lens, not by holding the camera a certain way. This is why I responded the way I did. I've been a pro magazine photog since the early '90s having learned with film cameras. Digital has all but ruined the craft.

Software like the current version of Photoshop Elements gives you the ability to create bokeh effect. The small sensor size of most compact cameras (especially phone cameras) precludes getting true optical bokeh.

Yes it is question... but so what?. I think the attitudes of some here are a lot worse than a question outside of the Q&A section. Heck, a lot of the posts outside of the Q&A section are questions. If that bothers someone, they can post a simple suggestion to try the Q&A section.
Vignette can also simulate tilt-shift. If you want blurry photos you might as well just scratch the hell out of your lens, get it all dirty, and call it close enough for jazz.

See, I didn't know/don't know what aperture is... So, thanks for the info (especially since you're a pro and all) . It was probably Photoshopped anyway.

I could have easily explained it to him in my first post, but as you can see from his last post about not knowing what aperture is, it would have been a waste of time. My subsequent detailed reply was to confirm what Entropy said rather than to impress or one-up anyone. Get over yourself.
Thinking maybe we start a thread for people to post pics they have taken from their restart or x201 device. Took this one tonight thought it came out pretty good wanted to share.

Hello, All! I take a lot of low-light video of my musician kid performing in small clubs. The problem I'm having is that the brightness is always at max when I start recording. So, I move the slider down and it's great... until I touch the screen again. Then it returns to max brightness, so I have to keep adjusting it throughout my video clip which is visible in the final product. I often need to touch the screen while taping to snap a still photo or zoom in or out. This issue is maddening and is making me consider buying a different phone which is too bad because I still really love my S9+ otherwise.
Is there maybe a setting somewhere I'm not aware of? Anyone else have this problem? Thanks, everyone!

this is a recurring issue throughout all of the last 5 or 6 Samsung phones. The only way of getting around it is to use a non-standard app. I dont video live shows nearly as much as you do, in all likelihood, but i was at Armin Van Buuren on 2.1.20 and i had the same issue. Same issue with Slayer a few weeks prior to that, concert prior to that was outdoors and during the late fall with plenty of light, so that wasnt an issue then.
Try out some different camera apps in test conditions so you wont be let down at the next event.
The cameras on the S9 and S9+ are very good, but i will tell you that some friends of mine at the aforementioned Slayer gig had far worse seats than me and had FAR better pictures and videos with his S10. The difference was striking.
