Flash generic global .42 (comes with correct kernal) root it then OTA update to 62 install cwm then go from their do wat you want
But since I have an unlocked bootloader, do you think I would be able to update OTA?
Won't it brick the phone?
Sent from my MT11i using xda premium
mine brick while update through OTA.i have to relock BL with s1tool...
So what should I do?
Should I flash the 0.62 ftf file using flashtool directly and then root it with the Doomlord's kit?
Or any other suggestions???

He's on unlocked bootloader, why messing with ota's..
@OP: if you wanna jump straight to some custom rom: flash .62 .ftf, and flash any custom kernel advised by rom creator.
Its same as you did with ics, first stock .ftf then kernel, then rom.
Hey man. If you previously were using the latest ICS Sony ROM before hopping to a custom ROM, then simply flash the kernel of that Custom GB ROM, wipe everything and flash as usual. You are good to go. There is no need to downgrade so long as you're on latest.

As I have upgraded my Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 to a Sony Xperia S the beginning of this year, I gave my old X10 to my younger sister.
It is currently running Wolfbreaks latest GB ROM with DooMKernel.
I am looking to upgrade to ICS.
Can anyone link me to the most stable ICS ROM?
And what are the steps into flashing it?
Is it like back then where you flash stock ROM then root and then enter CMW and flashing Custom ROM?
What about kernel?
I really do apologize for my noobiest... I haven't touch the X10 forums since AGES. D;
They Are All stable, but you should try the new v2 of feralab ics.. And Gingerbread still seams to be faster than ics so it's your choice

Just flash Fera's V2. Didn't see much problem, but if it's for your little sister, I'll suggest stick with GB ROM for now.

Goto following link and Install a FerKernal V4 and ROM, you need to install a ADD on package-1 and other apps to get the Google Play after installation of ROM and Kernal.
You will get the Addon packages and SEMC apps in the thread itself.
Its preety good and stable.

I believe you have the BOOTLOADER unlocked.
Otherwise bootloops or you might end up in briking your precious mobile
Read THIS to get some lights of BOOTLOADER unlocking
To use JellyBean Rom, you have to flash JB kernel.. and if your's is BL locked you shld not try flashing the a different ROM kernel.
Only Stock based (ICS in your case) Custom ROMs can be flashed.
:silly:Happy Flashing and enjoy Custom MODS and ROMS in XDA as i DO :silly:

you can try Paranoid Android JB rom. find it in the Neo development thread. there is an instruction on how to install the rom in the thread itself.
Follow the Instruction provided in Custom ROM thread in Neo/Neo V Development section
