I noticed recently that my AVG anti virus was outdated and i updated it and did a scan on my phone and it came up with a virus called RC Service. I tried uninstalling it but it says it cant uninstall. I think it is randomly opening apps on my phone. I recently have been noticing (when i hold the home button for the task manager) that "Phone" is open and has a black screen. Also it litterlay just vibrated and has a push notification that said pool mania (<- I have no idea what that is!) on it but i cleared it and it went away just fine. I unistalled all the apps that i recently installed from the Play Store. I am rooted with s-off but nothing has asked for Root Permision for months. if anyone knows what to do please help!

Just don't use antivirus and especially AVG.It is very possible that it is messing up your phone's software.

What are your thoughts? Has your market updated yet?
It look nice, but it has hidden one important feature from me: The ability to set whether apps auto-update or not!! Anyone know a way around this?
not yet.....
i keep checking it every 20 mins....

The auto-updating feature is fawkin' annoying, can I turn it off?
can you upload the apk please??
Sure can.
Lemme know if that works.
thank you so much!!!! you are the best!!!
Is this 2.2.6 or 2.2.7?
Sent from my Overclocked, FroYo'ed-up 2.2.1 EVO 4G
Not sure. The application manager says it's version 2002207. So... 2.2.7?
I didn't receive it, but after clearing the app cache I got it directly

Press on "My apps" and then the app you want to change settings for. Then deselect "Allow automatic updating" in the beginning of the white area.
I meant how to stop the market from auto-updating.
Edit: When I first got that update, the option to stop individual apps from auto-updating was missing. In a recent update it has returned, however.
But I still want the market to stop updating silently in the background. I'd rather it let me know than "SURPRISE! The market has updated against your will! So much for an open platform!"
Hey guys, today, about 10 minutes ago, I received a notification randomly and once i opened my notification bar, the following website opened by itself.

You installed an (imo malicious) app that includes a notififaction add spammer called AirPush, use this app to find out what the offending app is and delete it.

You can prevent imminent blindness by taping your eyelids open. This stops the squinting and resulting blindness! Been doing it for years myself!

Never heard of that App and fortunately I don't have any infected airpush apps installed on my phone, but that's still good to know...

So latley I have been getting a green star in the status bar and when I drop the bar down it is an ad... I have no clue what this is. has any one seen it before? the ads come at random times so i cannot pinpoint what is causing them. I have adfree installed and updated, I froze a few questionable apps such as datacollection and what not via Titanium, but this stupid thing keeps popping up...
Help? please?

If you want, you can opt out of those ads (there is a link in the notification bar when you get one). Then you can keep those apps or install others without having to worry about being bothered
Hello!
I've installed Sopcast because it was required by a TV Online app.
It seems that Sopcast came with some surprises: even after I uninstalled it, I keep getting some green stars notification icons with chinese apps.
Is there any app that can monitor the installation and uninstall it completely? On the PC I used to do this with CleanSweep...
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
It seems this is only happening with the latest update. Delete and Re install version 0.86 beta and adds will go

I had Sopcast-0.8.7.apk. I will try with 0.8.6 and let you know if the problem is solved.
I have installed 0.8.6 and it seems the problem still persists... Any other solution?

After installing all kinds of ad-detector apps, I have found that the spamware app was "Tiny Flashlight+LED" ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devuni.flashlight ).
I DO NOT RECOMMEND INSTALLING THIS APP!
I woke up this morning and as usual I spend time on y phone to wake up before I start to move LOL! I am paging thru my home screens and I see this. I have no idea what it is and never downloaded it. Second one in two days. I only redownloaded some apps that I have used in the past. Ones that I trust. I know that some developers use that push notification kinda stuff for advertisements but this is a whole different level. I have searched my application manager in settings and cannot seem to locate this. What is it? How do I fully remove it?

Looks like you have downloaded an app that has malware in it. You need to find that app and remove it.
