in the same wlan?
i think the best way to slove is contact with minecraft's developoer.
Make sure the host in "in game" before trying to connect. I've never had a problem and use several devices. S3, one, one x, nexus 7, they all connect fine with one another

Greetings, my home internet is a 3G wireless card from a Sprint reseller because for the time being that's the only "decent" internet I can get. While I have an excellent signal (-54 dBm) the speed is often slow as dial-up which makes watching Netflix on my desktop or PS3 next to impossible.
I can use the Netflix app on my phone and hook the phone up to my TV to watch just fine, clearly Verizon has a better network attached to the tower than Sprint. But I would rather use PdaNet to watch on my Desktop. The problem with this is that, because of the way PdaNet works the Netflix web page tells me that my "computer" is not supported.
Would anyone happen to know a work-around?

Don't use pdanet, use a wireless tether method for now, search the market for barnacle widow tether, it will work fine, have been using it to watch netflix

Thanks for the replies but sadly my desktop does not have a wireless card or dongle. I was hoping to use a wired solution. Does Barnacle offer a bluetooth mode that would support Netflix?
please can someone tell me if there is a way to use usb tether my htc wildfires internet directly from phone to xbox with no pc inbetween as this should speed up connection and fix the nat type. if this isnt possible please tell me a way to change the nat type when i use wifi tether on my phone to get xbox live

Even if there was a way to do so, I don't think it would be really worth it. It's like trying to connect to XBL using dial-up; super slow more than anything.
when i use wifi tethering the very few games it lets me join due to strict nat type have bareley any lag especially if its a good host with fast internet. it isnt as slow as dial up as i get 3g signal which is way faster than edge/gprs so if i only got edge/gprs then the speed, would be dial up speed and wouldnt even connect to a game even with open nat type i bet. all i want is an easy way to open the nat type cos i get quite fast internet. also the sound from people talking in party, game chat etc bareley gets crackeled up which you would expect with this connection. someone needs to develop an app to open the nat type and if it has already been done, someone please upload it and post it here.

I don't play gta5 live, but I need an internet connection to save game progress. My smartphone does not have WiFi, it does have Bluetooth and USB tethering. I've searched to see if Xbox 360 has Bluetooth capability. Nothing definitive yet.

This has me scratching my bonce too. I don't have internet at home but have a internal network in the house with wifi switch (for laptops, NAS and streaming media to xbox). The only internet I have is my all-you-can-eat data plan on 3 (UK).
I have easytether which connects laptop flawlessly but should also connect xbox 360 / Wii / ps3 but I get an MTU error on xbox. Annoying as I need to connect to Live! to update console and play a new game (also all my bought games revert to demo mode offline) Anybody got any progress on this?
I have Splashtop setup on my Prime and PC. I can access my PC desktop from my Prime on my Home Network and it works great. When I am at a Remote location and not near my Home Network can I use Splashtop and access PC from different WiFi Network? If so how?
Thanks
Couple of ways... if you have a dynamically updated domain name for your home network, you can access it through fowarded ports...
if you are connected with google services available (wifi icon = blue), then you can use the "Internet Discovery" feature in the menu of Splashtop Remote and Streamer.

I think it works if you set it up with a vpn.
Never tried.
I use splashtop with Google services all the time, works great.

Keep in mind that Splashtop doesn't encrypt at all.
I tunnel it through SSH to make it secure.

The main reason I want Remote PC access is for my wife. She will using Prime as a Laptop for Nursing Conferences she has to attend. Though she will Probably have all the file access she needs though our DropBox I just want to have something as a "backup" if she need to find something on our PC while she at one of these Conferences.
On your desktop if you goto the splashtop client theres a setting to add a gmail account. Put that in and goto the splashtop on your prime and again theres a setting to add your gmail. Now you can access it anywhere in the world. I work at best buy mobile and show customers this
Anyone tested the remote option with a good wifi connection on both sides? I tried this through a wifi hotspot from my Sensation and it was horrible lol.. As expected probably but i just wonder what speed is like under "normal" conditions.
I was playing around with this a bit last night using the Splashtop THD version purchased from the market. The connection I had setup was my home computer running Splashtop Streamer which is on Comcast Xfinity (computer is hardwired into router), then my tablet running Splashtop THD which was located ~3 cities away pigging backing off my friends wifi internet connection which also happens to be Comcast Xfinity.
I ran three tests.
First was playing all the games on my PC (Skyrim, The Witcher 2, StarCraft 2, etc.). This went admirably well aside from the fact that I clearly had issues controlling the games as only Skyrim has a gaming profile. Otherwise it ran surprisingly smooth and reminded me a lot of OnLive, Skyrim being the best test since I had an external usb mouse with me plugged into the tablet and was able to look about in the game.
Next I did some basic functionality testing with web browsing, word processing, and music playing... all of which were executed flawlessly.
The last test I ran was with video streaming (ie. playing fullscreen video on my home PC while connected from the tablet in Splashtop). I played a 1080p, 720p and 480p video for the tests, all played admirably well given a few seconds to sync audio/video. What I mean by this is usually when the videos started (or if I were to seek forward or back) the audio would be out of sync temporarily for about 5-15 seconds depending, and then finally catch up. Once caught up however the video from that point on seemed to play flawlessly.
The only thing I sadly did not remember to do was running a speedtest at Wifi Analyzer at my friends house. I do remember however that I was at full signal strength for the wifi connection at my friends house (my tablet in general has zero wifi issues, typically it performs better than my moto atrix). Overall I would say it performs admirably well but if you are going to have less than 50% wifi strength you will probably start to see noticable lag. I will also comment that typically the Comcast Xfinity internet in my area clocks are 30/8 for down/up in Mbps.

Can you have more than 1 Gmail account listed on Splash top? I am using the Splash top included with the Prime and I am logged in with my Gmail account but I don't see how to Add an account. Do I need to log out of my account to add my wife's Gmail as a 2nd access account?

I have recently moved to the middle east and have started using the paid for ExpressVPN. It has generally worked ok, allowing me to watch some UK television such as BBC, Channel 4 as well as some Eurosport. It can be a bit fiddly meaning that I have to choose my location according to what I want to watch. Netflix works fine without the VPN other than certain genres are not available - anything with sex/nudity/violence/terrorist material. It works using the VPN too. This has all been using 4G and mobile data with mostly watching on a Pixelbook and sometimes via a Chromecast on a TV (hotel WiFi used).
However I have finally got settled in my own place and have bought a TV and installed fibre broadband. I am experiencing some issues with getting content onto the TV. The behaviour is largely similar for BBC/Channel4 in that I can get programmes (live and older stuff) on devices. BBC iPlayer app doesn't work but going through bbc.co.uk does. However if I try to cast to my fancy new Samsung TV it wont play. Sometimes I get the "The selected programme is not available in your country" and other times I just get a rotating circle and no content.
Through Chrome browser I can sometimes cast the tab and it will play but that is very hit and miss.
Netflix casts OK.
By a matter of deduction (lots of settings changing) I have arrived at the conclusion they Huawei router (ISP provided) is identifying the VPN thorough the Cast and is blocking.
Any suggestions on how to keep the VPN working when casting through the router? (I could HDMI from the Pixelbook and miss out the router but that is a bit of a pain).
Would I be better to buy my own router and configure the VPN on the firmware (how does that cope with VPN software upgrades?)?
