Ok, so I was having a little look at the R&D tool used for the offline flashing guide... And I see that there is an option to create a KDZ file from a CAB file... So, in the screen shot here, if a BIN file were converted to a CAB file, could we then load the file into this tool and create the KDZ?
If so, this may be something useful for easier root/unlocking... If not, then I'll hush now... LOL. Thanks for reading!!

Would there be any harm in trying this? Meaning... If I were to try this, and it failed halfway in....could I still restore my phone with a different KDZ, or would I be screwed?

I think you will only soft-brick. So you should be able to flash the stock KDZ and be back to new.

A lot of times this is due to the fact that vista, 7 and 8 has a feature called UAC which is on by default. What this does at the point of logon, Windows will create 2 token for you one with admin and one without. Every time you run a process it will defaulted to non admin. A lot of unlocking tool in the forum requires you to have administrator. So either you turn off UAC, or use 'run as'.

Got an optimus g off CL. The guy didnt tell me he converted it to mako (thats what it says on fastboot screen) I am trying to get it into recovery mode after I flashed a non mako rom on it. It won't work. So I figured I would lgnpst it. That wont recognize the phone. I'm on windows 8. Is there a special way I have to enter recovery now that it was converted to mako?

Install Proper Drivers And Try To Boot In Download Mode And Usr LGNPST To Flash Stock .tot File.
Teenybins Are Excellent To Recover From A Softbrick,But If You Are Using A N4 Converted G Then You Will Have To Restock First.

If your boot loader is unlocked it will say mako, doesn't have to be converted to say that. Which splash screen did it have when it first boots? If it shows LG for a second or so it is not converted. You may just not have updated rpm/tz partitions needed for 4.2 ROMs. Also lgnpst won't work with USB 3.0 for some reason, and your phone needs to be in download mode for lgnpst to work.
Thanks for the fast reply guys. It was on a usb 3. Got back into cwm and restored it. Will attempt to flash the ota firmware but LGNPST can find the .dll file. I have no idea where it is.

If you use tSilenzio's automated lgnpst it registers DLL for you, it will say ls970 but it works fine for e970, click on the little folder icon in lgnpst.

If you are certain it is not converted then you can use teenybin file with lgnpst. It updates your partition and installs twrp. You would just need to flash your rom afterwards and be done.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2230994

Not sure what would cause that error. Automated lgnpst wasn't out when I installed it on my laptop, and teenybin wasn't out when I updated to 20j. I always selected dll first then bin. You may want to ask for help in the irc channel http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=lg-optimus-g

Well guys I ****ed up. In the process of trying to flash the lollipop firmware, I bricked my phone. At first I wasnt that mad knowing I could use the LG Flash Tool to return to the stock firmware. I had done this once before and my phone was able to function again. The problem im having this time is that, even after loading the lg g3 verizon drivers, device manager displays the phone as in the screenshots, not under ports like its supposed to. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated seeing as I am currently without my phone and its killing me.
This is what device manager displays.

When you get a chance, see if you have any other DLL files in your lg flash tool folder besides megalock.
While toting yesterday I had to pull another dll out of my backup folder. Maybe its in the op's drive folder and I overlooked it, but the flash tool definantly didn't install it and its the target dll not megalock.

To make LGUP work properly you need LG G5.dll, LGUP_common.dll and KDZ rom that you want to flash.
In directory where you have installed LGUP there is a folder "model",
you need to have three folders inside
LGUP_LGNPST
H850
common
You need a proper common file to flash it without errors,
use WindowsLGFirmwareExtract to extract LGUPc.dll from your KDZ file, rename this file to LGUP_common.dll and place it in the folder common. Then load LGUP and try to flash again.

Worked for me. I successfully downgraded my V20 int. variant from 10g to 10c by extracting and placing the DLL file from its own firmware. Thank you for this solution I'm sure it can be useful for other LG models too.
Thanks for sharing, although
Still failing with same error "0x2bc" .
Did notice a slight difference,Instead of failing at %5 on my g5's screen, it fails at %2.
Anyone else find a method ? LGUPPERCUT did not work, LGFLASH did not work... I am not one to give up easy, but damnnn.

Have you ever root/modifiy the firmware?
what is the model number?
Did you try to flash the firmware on another computer?
It seems that My windows 10 PC does not work well with LG UP, But when i try the windows 7, I can fix my phone with LGUP
THANKS

I tried that, and I Got this error message: "DLL for G820UM is not Installed Properly. Please, install a DLL package(*.msi). for the model"
Has anyone see this error message before, I get this when I try to open up LGUP software. after renaming the DLL file.
the only difference from the folders mention above I have folder called 8994 not H850 I Am assuming these folders are the chipset folders.
any answers on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated!

Hello xda, I need help to fix this error, I tried to upgrade my lgv10 using lgup but it always stopped at 9% with the pop message "error 0×2000 can't decide device mode" have using another flash tool but its still not working pls help. Thanks
Hey guys,
I'll keep this short but first of all I would like to thank all the people that make this website what it is!
I have always come here for help in the past but this time I am really screwed.
I tried installing a rooted TOT file using LGUP (a 20j file), and I forgot to do OEM UNLOCK before hand. Also, my phone was on 20L so I think I screwed up there anyways.
My phone boots up and gives me the "fail root verification" error in red and just goes on an endless bootloop.
At this point and after looking online for almost 2 hours I think the only two solutions would be to find a TOT file that works with my phone (H901) or the KDZ file that is from the latest update 20L. I have tried using a kdz file from the 20e update (first MM 6.0 update), but it says that antirollback will not allow to go back to a "smaller" firmware.
The files on this thread below are dead otherwise I would not be here asking:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-v10/development/rom-v20e-6-0-t-mobile-t3356412
Please can someone reupload the kdz file for the 20L update? or a tot file that would work on my case?
Thank you so much in advance!
