[Q] Capacitive Buttons Freaking Out Randomly - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Completely stock user since day one, this is a problem that has only come up recently. Unfortunately I can't illustrate a timeline between what updates/app installs it began happening, but the problem is no more than 2 months old.
Whenever I'm using the phone for Internet/Facebook/Reddit (95% of the time) there will occasionally be a freak occurrence where the phone will vibrate like crazy as if the capacitive buttons are being pressed rapidly and the apps will react as if the search/home/menu buttons are being pressed.
Anyone else have this problem? Suggestions? Thanks in advance for the help!

Problem with buttons

I have a strange problem that hasn't been reported.
My volume buttons, my phone- & my menu-button won't work from time to time.
I have moments that everything works properly, but normally all four of them don't react( no backgroundlight also).
And one more extra with this, when the buttons won't work, sometimes the Hero thinks that i'm pressing the volumedownkey numerous times. That means that he puts himself in vibrating mode en keeps vibrating, i can stop this by going standby or pushing a working button. Sometimes it stops, sometimes it starts again after two seconds.
Hope to have someone who can help
sounds like a hardware issue to me. what did you do to make sure these problems aren't related to some software you have installed?

HD2 Hardware buttons not working?

I have a bizarre problem with my HD2, which seems to be hardware based ... kind of....
*Sorry if this ends up being really long*
Basically my Volume up and down buttons have stopped working along with the windows button and "back" button.
However, the "home", "call" and "end call" buttons still work, but not properly.
When the phone boots you can briefly see the windows (not HTCSense) volume indicator pop up just before Sense loads, which didnt used to happen.
Once the phone has loaded up only the call, home and end call buttons do anything, they light up the buttons when pressed, and the "home" button does indeed take you "home" and the "end call" button locks the phone and turns off the screen, however, pressing the "call" button doesnt bring up my call list, I have to use a soft key.
I also cannot bring up the hard reset menu, holding the volume keys and booting doesnt do anything, which is why i think its hardware based???
Another interesting problem is that the "up, down, left, right" soft buttons dont work on the keyboard (since this all started)
I had this issue about 6 months ago, I flashed my phone, to no avail .... but about 6 hours after flashing it, it just started working.
The only think I have tweeked on the phone really is installing CHT as I've been booting to Android for the last couple of months, which now I cant do as it hangs after about 5 seconds of booting.
ANY suggestions would be great.
Same problem here I got the phone from craigslist and same problem as above. Can anyone tell as if is hardware or software related problems and if anyone solve this before ?
Any help will be much appreciated.
Sorry I've only just replied, but I ended up having to send mine to HTC, they ended up replacing the main board (apparently). So definately hardware. Sorry bud.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App

Capacitive buttons not responding

I'm running CM7 and up until recently had an intermittent problem with the home/menu/back/Search button not responding. Usually it went away but now it is stuck not responding.
I verified it is a hardware issue by using twrp 2.0 and the buttons dont register there either so i ordered a replacement touch screen.
Hopefully that will fix it but my question is in the mean time is there any kind of app that will put navigation on the screen like a honeycomb tablet?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
For anyone with a similar situation SoftKeys and Button Savior both give onscreen buttons.
I have the same problem, even started a thread here:

[Q] Long press problem on touch screen

Hello, I am having a problem with my touch screen during games.
When a have a game, like a race game, that a have to hold two buttons at the same time, one of them stop working. I need to stop my game all the time, wait a long to it return working and continue.
Does anyone have the same problem or know how I can resolve it?
I have the same problem too, but eventually i just do a workaround, that i don't press it continuously. after 15 second or so, quickly release and tap back again. Good driving means that accelerate button is not pressed all the time you know
I don't think this is the reason but, when it happens to me I just cool down the screen and it woks imediatlly.

Recents Capacitive Key Not Working

Hello
I got a weird problem on my S6 Edge G925F sometimes the Recents key won't work, when I press it nothing happens, It's the seconds time this is happening, and under similar conditions, which has led me to think that it might be the cause, I usually leave my phone on the table through the night and I live a relatively cold place that when i wake up in the morning my device is very cold, now as I explained above the issue, it's kinda weird that at the first time it ended up working after i pressed the key repeatedly out of frustration, now again today it happened and i pressed the key a number of times, then surprise it started working again, now is this a feature(which I doubt as the back key never does this)?? Is there someone who has been experiencing the same problem??
Thanks in advance
